Just to let you all know, the game hosting site known as Itch, is now shadowbanning all types of NSFW content, and is even removing some entirely depending on the type of content.

Since I use Itch primarily to measure the popularity of the project, I figured it would be important to share this here too.



I'm not quite sure the extent of the impact this will have on development, but obviously it's not good at all, and at worst, Collective Shout, the pro censorship religious group, may lead to the cancellation of the project through it's tactic of targeting payment processors. I'll continue to keep an eye on what's happening and update you for any concrete changes moving forward.

It will definitely impact any NSFW creators greatly. It's already a niche market with poor exposure, this basically killed what little discoverability you guys had.
They already did it on Steam, and they certainly will not stop at itch.

Ironically Site like F95 might actually do more good to you, if these Payment Processor companies can stranglehold whatever they want without anyone keep them in check.

Wish you can find a better solution somehow.
Cuz this hurt everyone, creators and audiences-wise.

The main issue is that Visa and Mastercard hold a monopoly on payment processor services, they're being sued by at least 3 countries because of it right now.

i had a stupid thought, what if steam used jcb as its payment processer and was able to stike a deal with em to allow steam users to buy things besides games with steam wallet funds? it would bypass a lot of the restrictions that banks and payment processers put up to create this mess and the fact its a japaneese payment processer eating market share would just be extra icing on the cake.

The UK tribunal rules that Visa and Mastercard are breaching european competition law, and the US department of justice is also suing VISA for monopolising debit markets.

i think we can do right now is to spam phone calls and sending emails to all payment processors.

people in twitter posted the phone call numbers (lol) to pressure these fuckers and that is what others are doing right now.

That's actually a good news, shows Itch still has good intentions, not completely Corpo lap dog.

itch will try to find a new payment processor that we'll see if they truly change or not

Loving the update; some of the little things like the battle effects go a long way to add to the experience.

I do wonder if the Alikhan content is "complete" as there doesn't seem to be as much content there in comparison to Rubim's bad end and it would definitely be interesting to see more in that path; the foundations are so well presented and well written that I imagine there's a lot of room in the second chapter for those things to come into effect.

Some odd bugs I've noticed, however.

- Saving doesn't seem to work in the second row of slots (IE slots 4 - 6 don't work, 7 - 9 do, 10 - 12 don't).
- No scene found for Alikhan Event 6 - Accept
- Losing to Lone just says "Test for Lone Alikhan Loss"
- In combat with Rubim you can get in a cycle of him telling you to equip and then unequip; I assume you're supposed to take your regular gear off and put the cuffs/cage on but it can just remove the cuffs/cage and put them back on repeatedly.
- Chastity / Collar seems to do anything apart from hypnotic effects. (Doesn't inhibit masturbation or dick-based scenes, doesn't change any imp content.)
- If you find two of Rubim's books and return back to him his text goes into an infinite loop of "..." that soft-locks the game.
- I don't know if it's intentional but once you escape the Alikhan bad end I had Scarlet stuck in the party with (possibly) no way to remove them.
- If you try to exit it out of the scene gallery the game crashes with an error.

I've been getting better (I hope) at crushing bugs before updating, but there's always some that slip through the cracks, I can only hope that the bugs are less cumbersome than they were previously.

As far as bad endings go, Alikhan's is tied to the main story to introduce the concept of a bad end if you haven't seen one yet, and is therefore compulsary, so I didn't want to push it as hard as I did with Rubim's since you sort of know what you're in for by the time you actually reach that bad ending.

As for content though, yeah I'll be adding to it, the main story itself needs a bit of an overhaul in certain areas, so when i'm fillinf in the gaps and making it more complete, the alikhan bad ending will be a part of that.

- I should be able to fix the saving
- Scene key is probably mispelled or something, will sort that out.
- Will remember to write up a scene for Lone.
- equip and unequip commands are randomised, but if you're noticing wierd ai behaviours due to chance I could try and make it more intentioned.
- I have variables for genitals that were leftover from when I originally wanted to set up a character creation system, and I planned on using it to make sure the required parts existed before moving into a scene that required them. Will be implimented whilst i'm overhauling the story most likely.
- I'll test Rubim's quest and see what's causing that issue, cause I thought I'd fixed that bug prior to releasing the update :')
- I adjusted where some scene data is stored and probably forgot to update the scene selector that looks through it, should be an easy fix :3

Something I forgot to mention:
- Scarlet being in the party is intentional, she joins as a party member after the alikhan ending. The intent is to make sure the player has at least 3 party members by the time they reach Act 2 to normalise future balancing, in the future side stories will unlock more party members and when you have more than 3 you can swap them out in the party menu, Phim is a permanent member.

Glad to see you're working so hard on it! As someone trying to make their own little project I couldn't imagine doing even half the things you're doing and definitely couldn't do it without the feedback I've been given, so I don't mean to sound negative (if I do) but I know firsthand that testing everything is impossible by yourself. You've proven to have a lot of talent when it comes to writing and design and I'm looking forward to the future of SD; if you ever do something like Cruel Serenade and monetise the later acts I'd be happy to support it.
