The dev is purportedly going through a "bad breakup" of sorts. As such, this is impacting their ability to get updates released in a timely manner.

Apparently their significant other (SO) was really supportive of the dev creating the game as well. So, without their support they are finding it difficult to concentrate and work on the game.

A breakup going on for two years? Well whatever the case may be, the dev appears to be in some sort of delayed situation. Can't say for sure if what they are saying is true or not. Could give them the benefit of the doubt. In any event, I'm keeping a neutral stance on this.
