I'm trying to make a new game in ren'py but im running into a few significant issues that have prevented me from creating scenes. The major issue is that I am trying to make a sci fi set game that is based on board a generational starship. I have a couple ship sci fi bundles and a few house kits for assorted furniture and such but when I try to place down the room itself I cant ever get my character models to load into the proper places to look natural. Are there any guides for how to create a room and add models into it that are easy to understand? The only one I saw started with a completed room and started just deleting a ton of stuff at random with no words or anything to say how they were moving entire objects around the room. Plus I havent even started to figure out how to have characters properly sit in something like a chair or lay down on a bed.

EDIT: I'm using Daz to create my scenes.
EDIT: Just tried again and I forgot my other issue is that when I place down the room nothing else will load in, so if I do something like try to add in a bed it says that it's loading and then nothing gets add to the objects list. No errors or anything, it just doesnt load in no matter how many times I try.

Unless the pose set is specifically designed for that room/furniture, you will have to modify the posing to make it look 'natural.'

This will almost always mean moving the character on the axes (x,y,z) and often positioning the bones of the characters themselves.

It gets easier with time. My advice is that unless a character really needs to be sitting or lying down, try and find a way to avoid it if you can. Posing can really cost a lot of time unfortunately.

In most case you don't create a pose from scratch (same goes for character and room), you take one from your library and modify it to suit your scene/taste. To position and adjust the poses you use translate and rotate tools. To avoid missclick or selecting something you don't want, you can make it unselectable. For you 2nd edit you mostly try to load the wrong file (a texture or shader setting)

Not sure if it will help you, but you should try to be familiar with this :

Youre going to need to lesrn posing. And frankly daz. Dont stress it isnt complex just takes time to do. Get powerpose bts

Second what kind of system do you have. 3d cg is very hardware intensive. Your comp may not appear to be loading because it takes so long to load. I have 48gb ram, ryzen 7 and some things can take 5+ minutes to load.. Or longer

I just did a small upgrade to setup the groundwork for my end video editing and streaming rig. I upgraded from an Athlon x4 860k to a Ryzen 3 1200 with a B450 motherboard and 16GB ram running at 2667 mhz. I kept my GTX 960 for now but in the next year I want to get a Ryzen 9 3950X and an RTX card of some kind. For right now though objects load into my scene in about 15 to 20 seconds which is the time it takes for the loading box to disappear in texture shade mode. My IRAY renders are sub 5-10 minutes right now though.

some creators make rooms, and poses to go with them

Yeah I grabbed a few of those from the asset release tab already but that is a much easier search so I will have to look through those results and grab a few more. I basically went page by page and downloaded any asset that looked helpful, so all my game assets are from this site. I'm about to update this post with a render that I am finishing now to show what level im hoping to be at.

EDIT: Dear god my little CPU is a trooper. I set this thing to only CPU render and I just hit 35 minutes for a render at 97% so I checked task manager and my GPU is sitting at idle with the CPU pegged out. Going to have to see what went wrong again.
