I want to like this, it has high potential and I want it to be as good as it could be! But... It isn't, and I don't have faith that it's going to reach the potential I see.
Builds are often buggy, which would be fine if it weren't for two things:
And it's not just that one bug that makes me say that. I'd often get lines that would be in Russian despite playing in English, the shop would often be full of Russian despite playing in English, descriptions of characters would sometimes be wrong (A girl with green hair was described as having black hair).
This was true for both versions I tried and it makes me question just how much testing they actually do.
The proof reading also could desperately use some work. While some lines are fine it's not uncommon to run into lines that just don't make sense or just sound unnatural. That's not to mention how often things are using the wrong pronouns, which is almost all of the time.
I'd give things the benefit of the doubt if this was something that happened once in a while, y'know? These things happen. But I played this and began following the dev (on Itch) over a year ago and, for the most part, I'm still encountering the same exact issues as I did then. If it weren't for the new UI's and story elements that made it obvious that I was indeed playing a new version you'd have a hard time convincing me that it wasn't the same version that I played last year.
What makes it all the more frustrating is how, after reading through some of the comments and reviews left here, I'm not the only one feeling this way and that it has been like this for longer!
Wish I could leave a review of the dev, too, since I've a lot I could say on that front as well but that'd be against the rules.
Just... Ugh. If I had to summarize my opinion as a whole of this game I'd say this: Wasted potential. Pure and unadulterated wasted potential.
