Hey, quick question, do you guys usually save just one or a few favorite images from each collection, or do you keep the entire set?
I’m torn because saving everything takes up too much space, at least for me, but choosing only a few is also really hard :BootyTime:
Only a few, especially for one like Sciamano. Using the latest Evelyn as an example, there's 240 images. 40 images with 3 expression variations and 2 variations on jacket or not. Even if you limit it to one variation of each main image, do you really want every variation? Especially when some are close to each other, like topless vs top pulled down, nude vs nude with pubic hair vs nude with accessories, etc.

It also comes down to how you're saving these for later viewing, but personally, it's rare I save more than 10 images from a set.

This sub has pinned thread on how to compress 4K galleries without any visible quality loss back to FHD. In case you eventually run out of drive space.

If you have iOS/macOS, you can convert them to HEIC which is up to three times smaller than JPG (even more for PNG). It is superior to both formats and has much better compression than JPG with no loss in quality. You can convert all the images in seconds by making a shortcut in the Shortcuts app, this way you don’t need to delete any images while saving a lot of space.

I keep everything, but compress it with Xnconvert. I recommend Jpg with quality parameter 90.

Im somewhat a datahorder myself so I actually got 8TB x 3 external hdd (not ssd) to store stuffs (mostly movie in 4k and Porn obviously :LUL: ), yet storing every single set of Sciamano seems like a waste of spaces to me, yes I know i got them for free and im grateful for that but still...

hey just wondering how do you select which to store? is it entirely up to your personal preferences? Im trying to find an effective way to archive

i do have an IP15PM but not Macbook, only Windows PC and I got a few software to batch convert like ACDSee but not sure it can do HEIC though

I keep everything, aside from the WIPs.

I'm using two 4TB SSDs, one 2TB SSD, and two 1TB SSDs, plus an 8TB MEGA cloud plan that syncs with the local drives. I store everything locally for convenience, but I pay for cloud storage because my collection's grown so big I can’t risk losing it.

On a slightly different but perhaps relevant topic:

Sciamano240 is one of the few artists I have a love/hate relationship with.
1. I love their art, but I don't understand why they refuse to release their artwork in native resolution and as PNGs.
2. For $10, their hundreds of shitty 2000x3000 JPGs just aren't enough, and since they don't release PSDs, I don't feel comfortable deleting them as I can't export new ones.

I’d much rather have 6 to 9 impressive, high-quality, high-resolution PNG artworks to enjoy than a mess of hundreds of nearly identical, JPG images. But unfortunately, I can’t, and that sucks.

Same goes for Firolian. They’ve made some of the most erotic work I’ve ever seen, but they export it in literally the worst-quality JPGs imaginable. If you zoom in on any high-quality monitor, it looks like shit. Just a canvas of compression artifacts, blocks, and blur. It drives me absolutely insane how some artists still don’t seem to realize just how much beauty in their art gets lost this way.

Here's a full size (native) artwork by Sciamano & Guweiz, and two JPGs from Firolian for reference.
