I acknowledge two things whenever I boot this game up.
1. I like this game.
2. This is a bad game.
'Seaside Mystery', much like 'The Twist' before it, plays out a lot like an amalgamation of bad porn plots. Therein lies its charm and therein lies its frustration. There aren't really many proper, fully rendered 3D games like it, which makes it hard to simply throw away, but there are many games that are more rewarding for the amount of time you'll be forced, by design, to spend playing it.
The "good" stuff is largely subjective and leans way too much on player preference. Like milf-types? Then there's good stuff for you. Like huge tits and huge asses? Then there's good stuff for you. Like being the male center of attention in a primarily female world? You know the drill. That's it. That's the good.
The "bad" stuff is entirely objective and even warrants a list because of how much of it there is. So here goes, in order of least egregious to most. I'll even pop in some suggestions for a few things so it doesn't seem like I'm just being a jerk to the dev. I really want this game to be more on the good side.
1. The Movement - The movement system in this game is dog shit. Even for a point-and-click. In theory, you're supposed to click a space and the game will path you to it with no need to click repeatedly. Which works fine... until you realize the next issue.
2. The Camera - From being forced to readjust the camera in scenes because it starts off inside of characters, to needing to constantly readjust and mess with zoom during movement, it's one of the worst I've seen in a game in a while.
Suggestions:
-Auto readjust the camera behind the player during movement if right-click is not being held to look around.
-Allow for continued movement while left-click is held and keep the camera centered behind (and slightly above) the player during this state.
-Take the time to go through scenes and make sure the camera isn't just at random positions during scene introductions.
3. Lighting - I don't mean the general lighting in the game, which is pretty well done. I think the game actually looks decently good. I'm speaking more to the hazy piss-colored (or coloured for the rest of you) filter that's been implemented. It's pretty well managed with a simple reshade setup that doesn't eat any FPS, but since this LA air simulation is part of the base game, it goes into the bad category.
Suggestions:
Remove this. Please.
4. Characters - I could probably put this and the next bullet into a single "Writing" bullet, but for the sake of clarity I'll do it this way. The characters are boring and wooden. Nobody has a strong or memorably distinct personality.
The main character isn't interesting and is conveniently as dumb, smart, weak, strong, nice or asshole-ish as the story needs him to be. He seems to basically exist as a hollow vessel for self-inserting. This is essentially a carry over from 'The Twist'. Take that as you will.
The supporting cast (aka the women) could change places with each other tomorrow and I wouldn't be able to tell that anything was out of place. Their personalities seem to be tied in to their age. So if the older main woman were switched with any other older woman, it'd basically just be a re-skin. "I didn't think he'd be interested in an old hag like me" is legitimately something stated by no less than three of these characters. We get it.
5. Story - Generic parentless boy harem fantasy with a half-assed mystery plot. It's bad, but it's not detrimental to the gameplay experience. If you're looking for good writing, it's not here and it likely never will be. There are also many, many typos and grammar issues, if you're bothered by those. Hopefully these get ironed out on their own when the game is closer to completion (ahahahaha.. haaaa).
And finally...
6. Stalling Mechanics - All of the writing issues could probably be excused if this game were designed for a quick fap, but the dev throws so many nonsense roadblocks in the way as a means of delaying story advancement that it's impossible to assume that this is the case. This is, by the way, a carry over from 'The Twist', so no one who played that game should be surprised by the things I'll list off here. If you hated it there, you'll *really* hate it in this game.
Relationship - There's nothing wrong with this mechanic. Sometimes you'll have to advance a relationship with one character before being able to continue with another, but that's what you should expect from a game like this.
Stats/Skills - The lesser offending of these is the stat mechanic, which stops you from doing something if you don't have enough of one. The issue isn't that it exists, the issue is that there's no real rhyme or reason when it comes to gaining these stats so that you're ready for future encounters or scenarios. Yes, it's nice that the dev doesn't want to implement grinding for these things, but it makes absolutely zero sense for the PC to not be able to, say, continue gaining strength from weight-lifting, but can moments later lift a pool chair and gain progress there. I'm not even going to get into the random charisma and stamina nonsense. Still, it's not the worst of the stall mechanics. Not even close.
Time - Now this, *this* is the worst one. This mechanic starts off behaving well enough. You have a time system which consist of hours, days and weeks and characters have schedules centered around this very basic idea. At the onset, you'll have enough quests and story to fill this schedule out and it always feels like you have something to do. The problem? At some point, because of bad development, there is nothing to fill the time slots and your only quest is "wait until specific day to play the game".
Why is this a problem specifically? Because the dev has a hard-on for scheduling these things on Friday or the weekends, which means you're clicking to skip days a minimum of 6 times instead of being engaged by the game. That is absolutely, soul-crushingly boring in a game that will ultimately have *no replay value*.
How is this usually avoided? Weaving character quests into seperate days of the week. Why can't this be avoided in this game? Because all main character quests are, eventually, dependent on doing random shit with side characters that generally are unrelated to them in any way whatsoever. This is a terrible use of this system and will eventually be the reason most players stop playing the game. There's nothing less fun than finishing a quest on Sunday and seeing three quests pop up for next weekend.
In a bubble, it seems fine and then you look at your clock and realize that you've accomplished absolutely fuck-all in the two hours you've been playing.
Suggestions:
-Don't lock stat progression behind pre-determined scenes. Simply locking scenes behind relationship progress is enough.
-Schedule character quests better. Seriously. Look through the script and see what can be moved to another day and do it.

Ultimately, this game, like 'The Twist' is about providing an interactive platform for various porn fetishes and should be seen as such. From that perspective, it is generally successful.
If the dev takes the time to try to design the game with the players in mind, it can go from being successful to enjoyable and successful. As it stands currently, it is an absolute slog once you reach a certain point and that's just unfortunate.
