iirc the dev is in the "in public but not seen" kind of exhib camp so I seriously doubt they'd pivot and not keep it optional.

I don't know why but I tried to follow the instructions but the game stopped at the step of loading unity base libraries and gave an error. Does anyone know what I'm missing?

is stop at downloading libraries ? try rename winhttp to version.dll. try use a VPN.

do you tried rename winhttp.dll to version.dll ?
the error cause by failed to download files. try a VPN.
another way is download files which patched(downloaded libraried) from another user.

I think I recall that last time they brought it up they were thinking it'd be some kind of post-game feature, I'd imagine so as not to steal the spotlight from the exhibition content. I do hope it makes it in, as it's less about the existence of sex but about the threat of consequences for me.

Okay I read it. The most interesting thing to me is the last part. Final message that I used machine translation for:
"The big tasks are getting pretty close to being completed. All that's left is the finer details and the sex scenes. Development is nearing the end! (Well, there are a ton of finer details to work on...) I feel like I'm in the final stretch! I hope that no horribly serious bugs will appear at this point (laughs)."

I'm unsure if the machine translation is correct but multiple machine translations say "sex scenes," so maybe there is going to be sex between you and NPCs?

I was really hoping for a release date but I have to be patient...I really love the new face animations, and they can be customized too so you can set when she does them, I think.

People have been asking for getting caught and raped/fucked, as a toggle. So that's that.

As for updates: New toys, new clothes + cosmetics, late-game abilities (invis, time stop), new NPCs.
But, the iconic hoodie from a year back is removed (unfortunate indeed), and the mechanic of "mental strength" (not getting caught increases RP gain?) is possibly being removed.

God I can't fucking wait, this is literally going to be the highlight of the first half of this year for me

The facial expression configuration is huge for me. tbh I didn't like how her expression in Seleka was an ahegao / sort of crazed one so being able to tweak it is an awesome surprise. I can't read JP but I'm guessing you'll be able to select an emotion for a given heartrate range or action or something?

It's mainly there for fun, you can't get mission progress while it is active.

It does say Sex Scene.
The whole sentence says "What's left are some finer details and sex scenes."
By sex scenes, the Dev probably means the actions Sereka can do when she's exposing herself, like the futa bukkake as shown in the time stop example.
