I think they've been slowly adding more and more stuff to the DLSite page. I keep a tab for it open and I swear there's a few new screenshots on there now that weren't there yesterday.
lol I'm also obsessively checking it and yes you're right. The costumes and skin color/body shape stuff was added recently and maybe the pictures of the locations too. Maybe the video quality on their blog was having an effect but the graphics look nicer than I thought. Not that it looked bad but those images of the locations are really nice looking.

If I understand correctly, they also added a streaming mode.

is this new update for the game or a new standalone game?
Ohh how I wish I was like you only discovering it now...the wait would be so much shorter! Yes, it's a new standalone game that's similar to the first but with way more features, outfits, and locations. You can see a bunch of videos and pictures on their blog thing that's been updated once a month for a while now. The newest are shown first:

It's also very close to release, targeting mid-June.

on a related note, Roshutsu got updated
Seems like it's just a reupload of a previous version with some minor tweaks

The update blog post says he's interested in picking it back up again but no guarantees since he works full time. He also said in the past that Seleka is basically what he wanted to see happen so between that and him not having the time, I wouldn't expect much

I am expecting Manaka will set the bar (a lot) higher. If Jaguar is still in the game, he needs to offer something a lot more innovative to stay relevant. Roxanne is mostly playable and the authors have tried something new (like streaming to make money). The game is going to be launched on Steam this summer and mobile in the future. If you look at smaller projects like Rena, it's nothing ground breaking (the gamplay consists of a superset of a subset of Seleka's features) but the experience feels polished. If you want something more cute and relax, there is Nagisa. This game has good map design and the path finding is the best I have seen so far in this genre (you can even set your character on auto pilot!)

This is what I suggested to Otoha (the author of Rena) for his next game. If time and money is of concern, he should wait for Manaka's release, then look into what features he could improve on, make a smaller game out of these features and focus on a polished experience. The same suggestion could go to Jaguar if innovation is not his strength and he doesn't have funding.

You sound like a very serious businessman.:D

I wouldn't get my hopes up. Jaguar is now alone, without free time and money. Times have changed and there are many interesting games, but it's good that he doesn't want to give up. The big strength of Roshutsu was the extra mods and Jaguar could benefit from that. In the end, even Roxanne "borrowed" some ideas, like finding the key.
