Hello everybody,
Well, last month was a nightmare. I had to find a replacement programmer, two of the writers were late due to personal issues, and Sommy's computer died, but we managed to get the backer release out only a day after the expected release date, so not too bad all told. For those of you who told me not to worry about being late, I appreciate it, but you guys give me your money and I take that very seriously. I will always do my best to fulfill my obligation, and if that means I have to pull a few all nighters, I can live with that.
The good news though, is that we attained one thousand patrons, and six thousand dollars for the first time ever. It has dropped a bit due to declined pledges, but we are still technically there, so long as most of them clear, so hurrah. Hopefully the trend will continue upward, and it won't be too far in the future that we are celebrating two thousand.
What this means is, firstly, that we get a new extra CG; from now on every release will have six instead of five. In addition, I've also found two new writers who will be helping out. They are starting this month, so their work won't appear til the release after this one, but from then on every release should have at least twenty five thousand words of content, if not thirty.
Moving on, the plans for next month are pretty simple - to finish off as much of the Orciad as humanly possible. I did some work on both the Tarish and Lady Delane parts last month that didn't make it in, these will be added this month, along with some more work on my part for the escape, and the consequences. Winter has done work already on the Batri path, and is now moving over to the Ulcro one. Rein is working on a bunch of different events to round out the pools a bit more, starting with resource events (as he has the last two months), but also working on a few job events for Alexia. In additional, we are going to get the last part of the UI coded in, so that public releases can start again soon.
On the art front, as you can see above, Keidi is just putting the finishing touches on the Jak sprite, and he's looking pretty dapper. Now that he has finished the castle UI improvements, Sommy is working on making the overground map screen look better, and hopefully we'll be adding roads finally. He'll also be doing the CG for the Helayna's Day Off scene that was one of the winners in the last poll. Momdadno is also working away on his CGs, the backers have already seen the rough sketch of the first.
That's all for this edition. The last weekend of the month falls right at the end, so the release date for the next backer version will be the 30th.
