It's been two weeks since I finished Blight and I've finally finished Awake too. It took me around 30 hours. As always, doing every little thingy. Years ago when I first played Awake, I gave up on Bottomless Gramtoa the moment I tried it, but this time I made a promise to myself and did it, which took almost 1/3 of my time. It was grindy and hard and tiring.. but gotta say, the pleasure you get when you finally clear the Bottomless Gramtoa after hours of effort is something else. Oh well, review time...
While Awake is considerably shorter in terms of story length than Blight, it is still great in terms of quality and flow. There's definitely more emotion involved this time. Small plot twists, "betrayals?", and such.. Also, Awake definitely tells more about the world of SEQUEL. Countries, important people, monsters and such.
There are a few changes to the gameplay, perhaps minor but in my opinion well fit. Since we have quite a few characters this time, we're changing the characters in our party instead of changing classes. Also, passive skills have been moved to a completely separate screen for every character to use. This definitely makes things easier. And instead of a city, this time we can talk/segz with characters in a huge base, and we can easily reach the market, the training area and the craft screen. There's also a little day/night cycle when interacting with characters.
The scenes are, as expected, fap-worthy. We have multiple characters for every body type, I'm sure you'll definitely fall for at least one of them. Or all of them, just like me! Compared to Bilght the scenes are a bit more grindy to get, but as you can guess by now, I like the grind so it doesn't bother me.
And the characters. We literally live in a big house with a bunch of hot characters! They all have different personalities and are handled very well. As the story progresses, it's as if you all become a one big family. They're all so good that it's impossible not to like any of them. The bond and conversations between them really make you melt in front of the screen.
To sum it up, it's a much shorter game than Blight (even shorter if you don't include Bottomless Gramtoa) and a bit better in terms of gameplay. I guess that's it! Okay, here I come Colony~
