I was reading the rules and saw there was an obvious ban for depiction of minors.
Does that include lolli's and shota's? Even if they are adults?

would anyone even be interested in a game where the main character is a shota?

I take the rule to mean that since fictional characters' ages can't be verified that the mods use their own judgement on what is allowed not. Anime ages are ambiguous but at a certain point you can tell it's not just a petite female, especially if there's context clues or stated ages.

I don't really know how it works though tbh

one of the most popular games on the site has a shota MC (Insexual Awakening) so... no they aren't outright banned... it's just murky. If the game is obvious about it then it's banned... if there is room for argument then it's up to the admin's interpretation. At least that is how I infer the rules.

It's probably a wonder that the game 'corrupted love' hasn't been banned from this site yet. On a different site that shall not be named, it's marked 'restricted'. We also had a game called 'My Sister's devious plot', which was fine, it even had an interesting story, highly probably banned after the underage sister started to join in.

Yeah, more than likely stuff sticks around until someone raises a concern or ruckus... that's the quickest way for something to get banned.

Loli and shota are allowed to a certain extent.

It's mainly about their appearance, as long as they don't appear to be prepubescent (no boobs, no public hair, typical childlike looks) or too realistic depicted, it's not that much of an issue.

Here is the official reasoning for that rule.
It's a legal issue that ties into the survival of the website. Here are 3 very compelling reasons -
1
- We're trying to stay on the right side of the businesses who provide the hosting and server space. They have laws to follow just like we do. So we are trying to do the best we can with providing the game we can but still "stay under the radar". Problem is, once it starts getting too extreme like young realistic sexual content, then those businesses will refuse to host us or provide servers.
2- The younger content brings in "undesirables" (pedophiles and others) from the deep web and elsewhere who often are being tracked by law enforcement.. that's bad for us in 2 ways.. those "undesirables" often bring some nastier content with them and the law is now going to scrutinize the site. Again, really bad.. The hosters/servers will drop us in a second if we bring in the law.
3- That content will NOT go unnoticed by hacktivists who won't hesitate to flood this site and use tools to make our lives very very miserable.

Remember, if we trigger a NEGATIVE response from the hosts and/or servers, we have no website. NO F95Zone in other words.

I see, so I suppose something both 2D and an unrealistic art style would basically be allowed, like Roll from the Mega Man series for example.

Looks like it's not banned if the loli/shota aren't too young apparently or furries. For loli they looks like 14/18 years old girls for the most part. For shota they are much younger. And there is a lot of game without shota tag with very young "adult" male characters :

- https://f95zone.to/threads/isolated-with-mom-v6-boraginol.104288/ (same author)

...
Why so ?

People here seems to have lot more tolerance with shota than loli.

I wish they would use different renders if you chance the age, I don't mind numbering a girl 18 or older for your patreon page, if she looks like that. I do however mind those games with girls looking like pre-pub, and than just labeling them 18, that looks ridiculous.

There was this game once, who had 2 renders for each scene, one with larger girls with tits and the other where the girls where like flat chested and a lot smaller. You had a patch, that would select the loli versions, and they called it incest. I rather played the 18 year old, because they looked a lot better, wheren't it for the ridiculous landlord and landlady naming...

But games like my sister's devious plot, are ridiculous if you make that sister 18 years old, I mean she looks a lot younger than my daughters who are still in highschool.

You guys should check out what just happened to a site that some of our members are part of. They allow most rule 7 content and had a "restricted" section. Someone posted real exploitative material in those threads so they got visited by hacktivists. The moderators there ended up having to nuke entire threads and renamed the entire section to "exclusive". And speaking of their site name, they are now polling members to come up with a different site name because they can't find hosts.
Make it too lewd and you get canned.
Host R7 content and flirt with disaster.

That proves our decision to implement Rule 7 was wise. We haven't had to deal with all that because we don't allow extreme content and Rule 7 is part of that.

No, it's something that specifically target p*d*shit and ...
I don't get what you're saying. My point was, if they're posting illegal content then rules won't matter. If they're willing to break the law then they'd be willing to break forum rules too, so in that case it wouldn't make a difference if said rules existed or not.

At least, that's my understanding, maybe I'm missing something.

I don't get what you're saying.
Like you apparently didn't got what Muttdoggy said.

My point was, if they're posting illegal content then rules won't matter.
It's a vicious circle that he described.

You let people post fictional content, what will draw the attention of some undesirable persons.
Those persons will starts to post fictional content made with real content ; like there's, here, games using porn photo/movies. But it will be text based content, with softcore photos as illustration. Since you permit drawing/rendering of effective act, innocent photos, even to illustrate crude text, must also be permit.
This will draw the attention of even less desirable persons. Them will post "fictional" content made with real and explicit content. Since you permit drawing/rendering of effective act and real photo, this must be permit too.
And in the end, since you permit real life content of act through fictional stories, why even bother with stories ?

Of course, it don't happen in one day, and not as obviously as this summary, but it's how it, alas, works. I don't know exactly at what step the hacktivists jumped in, but it don't really matters. Once you're tainted, it's really hard to get ride of those undesirables persons. If you try to change the rules, they'll try to force them back, and if you move, they'll follow you.

And it's precisely where the rules matters. If you draw a clear line, and draw it over all content, it's too difficult to find a breach to use, therefore they don't even try.

It's always what people tend to not understand when the rule 7 is explained to them. It's "to not draw the attention of the wrong persons", but it was never said that it's about the authorities, nor even about hacktivists.
The authorities are perfectly aware that this site exist. You can be sure that among the now more than 6 millions members, there's few from the FBI, Interpol, and some other agencies likes that. It's just that piracy, especially at this low level, doesn't interest them, they are more here for the discussions. There's probably also few hacktivists that know about it and, like the good anarchists most of them are, they let people be, as long as it hurt no one.
No, it have always been about the undesirable persons I talk about here, p*d*shits. There's probably some here, but the ridiculous ones, those who would grope their 15yo neighbor, eventually convince her to fuck. But the real ones, they don't like it here ; the most they can find is barely over ages purely 2D/3D characters, it have no interest.

If they're willing to break the law then they'd be willing to break forum rules too, so in that case it wouldn't make a difference if said rules existed or not.
Do you think about what you write ?
Murder is illegal, there's people who break their country rules (the thing called "Law") and commit murder. So, why bother with Law ? It's what you wrote, really, just applied at the side of a country.

There's rules like there's Law. Firstly to warn people that something is not permit, and secondly for you to enforce them when they are broke by someone.
It will never prevent people to try to broke them, but it make it more difficult for them to do it. It suffice of one witness, and you know about it, then act against it.
And, of course, with a web forum it's more difficult to be unnoticed than it is at the side of a country. Your content is not ephemeral, if you aren't caught on the act, your act will still be clearly seen later, as if it just happened.

The point with these topics - it attracts people, who are interested in that stuff.
It could be just a harmless guy or a girl, who has its own complexes, but will never hurt a child in any way.
Or it could be a real criminals, who are spreading illegal content across the internet in order to get a customer.

If site would freely allow such topics, it will backfire at them with unbelievable force, attracting more and more people with complexes, real criminals and consumers of illegal products. If this will happen - this site will be no longer up.

You can't be in control of everything, that happens on this site every second, cuz it has a lot of members, that does their daily shit here.

One man will post, the other will report and boom, 404, this site doesn't exist anymore.

I've seen a lot of these incidents on Pixiv, where some users would post smth outrageos and illegal, it's how some people make their money, we cant get rid of them - there's always will be more.

Keep your heads up, lads.
If site doesn't want something up, it better to not post it without speaking to the staff and asking to check your game.

Be happy and make others happy, it won't fix our world, but it would fix our problems in discussions.
