Sex Hill - Introduction

Welcome to the development thread for Sex Hill which is an adult visual novel currently in development. I've been working on my second project for several months and I decided to create a development thread, so I can get some potentional feedbacks, suggestions or even wishes about my ongoing project.

I would like to point out an important matter to whoever is reading this that I'm doing this project puerly as a hobby. As much as I would like to do work on this project full time, financially wise it's just simply not possible.


Story - Short summary

You play as a convicted man in Sex Hill which is a town for criminals who are given a second chance at life without punishment. The town offered you everything you wished for: a beautiful wife, a son and a stable life. But one day, after a strange dream everything has taken a 180-degree turn...

Sex Hill may seem wholesome at the beginning but the horror will take over more and more as the story evolves.

Jill

She is your lovely wife who you would sacrifice your life for. She is literally every man wet dream: gorgeous, smart, caring and is okay with to explore new things in bed. Does man need more than that?

Detective

A mysterious woman who only appears in your dreams. She is a tough woman, after all she is a detective, so that's to be expected. Could she be someone important? Or is she nothing more than a figment of your imagination?







Game Overview - Genres and softwares

Main genres: Horror, Puzzle, Adventure, Romance, Point & Click, Sandbox(?not really sandbox, but it has freeroams?)
Lewd tags: Animated, Armpitjob, Big Ass & Tits, Creampie, Female Domination, Footjob, Handjob, Male Protagonist, Male domination, Milf, Oral Sex, Teasing, Striptease, Titfuck, Vaginal Sex

About lewd tags. Almost all of the fetishes are avoidable so if you're more of a vanilla guy/girl you will still enjoy the lewd scenes.

Softwares:

  • Daz3D - Mainly used for character creation.
  • Blender - This is basically where the "magic happens". I create almost everything art related inside Blender.
  • Renpy - I think this one is pretty much self-explanatory.
Mechanics

Sex Hill will offer plenty of freeroam sections and minigames. Unfortunately, at the moment I don't have anything to show in these departments, but I will share 1-1 freeroam and minigame sections once they're coded into the game. I would like to beleive that you will be able to experience the horror setting of the game through some freeroams much more effectively than some images that you just aimlessly click~click away.

Collectable documents:

  • They are inside the freeroam sections.
  • They give valuable & key informations to the players storywise so it's advisable to collect them.
Hidden images:
  • They are also inside the freeroam sections.
  • Just spicy images what you can collect.
Still images & animations

Still images: 3D graphics with lots of different themes, ranging from dark and scary to light and wholesome.

Animations: As I use Blender instead of Daz3D, I have better tools to create more appealing animations. In my animations, I use ripple & jiggle physics to recreate the movement of the softer body parts as realistically as possible.

SFX & Music

I'm planning to add as many SFX as possible to the game, especially at horror *shock* and sex scenes. As of now, I only plan to add "wet" sounds to the sex scenes, so moans are currently not in plan.

Music wise I already have a large library ready to use catchy tracks.


Language

If you're a native English speaker and you read through my text, I think it's obvious that English is not my first language. To address this issue, once my game is complete I will give it to a proofreader to correct the text both grammatically and typo wise.

As of now the game is also only planned to have English language. Later, I might add my own language to game, but translating is usually a long and painful process.

Hey a little update:

We're almost at 500 wishlists! If you haven't added SH to your wishlist yet, please do so. ;)



First the numbers then the yapping:
  • 3 scenes fully done - 177 pictures + 15 animations
  • Total - 193 pictures + 16 animations

The difficulties:
  • Animation ~ Newly used jiggle physics
  • Coding ~ Freeroams + Documents

Animation:
My latest animation which I shared looks promising so I hope I did figure out the settings on the physics tab. As I did the more intimate scenes before the wiggling animation I will need to rework 3 animations completely as they just don't look appealing at all (Mainly the jiggle physics is just plain and bad).

Coding:
This is where I'm at. I'm pretty sure that figuring out the freeroam layers + implementing the documents tab will take a lot more time than I'm expecting. The positive part about these two that once they're coded it's just CTRL+C CTRL+V.


The story:
As I started to create the pictures for the story that I had already written, I've noticed that some parts needed to be rewritten completely or slighty changed. I would like to think that it's a positive attribute on my part to notice the flaws in the story. Once the game is finished, I am considering giving the text to an editor/writer to "patch" my mistakes.

I'm also considering releasing a beta build before launching the project on Steam for feedback purposes.


My goal:
By the end of summer, I would like to reach around 800-1000 images. This is quite a crazy number for me as I have a workplace to go to, but I will try my best to produce as many images/animations as possible before uni kicks in again.

(Ctrl C + Ctrl V from free Patreon post so apologies if some things look 'strange')

As I promised earlier here is a progression update. This is going to be a chunky one so have fun for the night/morning "novel" reading:D

But before we start, if you haven't done so already please help me out with a wishlist.




First of all, I know that many of you folks are here for the numbers instead of my yapping so here are the they.

Numbers:
  • Images: 480
  • Animations: 24
  • Story: 95%
  • Progression: Roughly 20-30% of the content is done (Programmed & tested)
  • Release date: 2026
My initial plan to reach 800-1000 renders by the end of summer fell short. To be fair, there were multiple things which made it not possible to reach my goal. I will discuss some of the reasons why I was unable to achieve it.

The consuming render times: 1 picture takes me around 10-20 minutes to render out as I made some "upgrades" to the image quality even though my hardware is declining. To be fair with you, it wasn't the smartest idea as even with these "upgrades" some images still doN't live up to my quality standards. When I was making MoA:p Lilith had hair issues throughout most of the game. It's mainly happened because I had a setting on a very low number. To combat that weird hair issue I increased that setting however it also heavily increased the rendering time from 5 minutes to 10–20 minutes. Of course I added other quality of life improvements to my pictures which do boost my render times, but the hair fix is mainly the culprit.

Challenges with the new content: Firstly the freeroam & document content, then the jiggle physics. I can't tell you how many times I banged my head on the wall because of these 3 things. I'm grateful that freeroams work and that I shorta realized how to make work the jiggle plugin. Unfortunately the document is still a headache which I completely set aside for a while now. When I feel like doing some heavy programming again, I will revisit the document.

Motivation loss & laziness: Honesty is best policy (I believe?). There was a period when I didn't do anything for weeks. I completely lost any motivation to do anything game related. Maybe I did have a little burn off from the endless troubleshooting on the new contents? I don't really know. I hope it doesn't occur again in the future:).


Let's get back into some good news. SH will have many new features (some of them were already written above) but there are even more!

Features:
  • The scenes will now have moans & other sound effects.
  • Proper freeroam sections (Before you start to worry the game has 0 grinding. You're just doing objective(s). I mainly implemented it to make the horror scenes feel more alive.)
  • Documents. They're going to help you with the story. You're not obligated to find and collect them but they genuinely reveal important lore about the town & certain situations. I would definitely recommend collecting them to anyone who enjoys extra details in a story.
  • Jiggle physics. I believe I already showcased it in the past & the new Steam trailer has some jiggle action too.
  • Many fun little minigames. Don't worry! I can 100% assure you that they're not going to be difficult.
I promise I'm almost at the end. Lastly Steam, a big launch on Steam could really make difference, so if you didn't wishlisht SH yet, please help me out. The more wishlists I can gather before launch, the more Steam will promote my game on its front pages, which will push me toward a more successful launch. Meanwhile, MoA:p didn't have a disastrous launch, but it wasn't successful either. I would say it gravitated towards the negative more than the positive.

Before any big launch I will be making a DEMO version. This demo will be available both on Steam and Patreon as well. With later versions I'm unclear at the moment, but I believe the game will be available on Patreon first for testing purposes.
