Sex in games as main content or as a side content?

Hey! (I'm not a native speaker sorry)
I was working on a visual novel with adult content and sex scenes. Here are a few example scenes I made.
(Resolution might be bad cause I downloaded it from my WhatsApp because I deleted all my projects.)

I was nearly okay with renpy, animation, and blender. It took me months to learn how to animate, edit things and other stuff as a beginner from zero. But blender was so slow to render and I wanted to have a real-time engine that can render real-time rather than waiting 3 minutes for only one frame(my computer is old). Also, I was desiring better things. When I say better I mean walking around like a 3d game and doing stuff rather than dialogs and images on the screen. That is why I probably picked unreal engine 5. Now I'm learning unreal and it is amazing how it can render in real-time.

I'm at the very beginning of this journey but I like to create a game that has clear sex scenes with adult content. Yeah, I would probably be going to learn a lot more to reach that point but I believe I can do that. So to reach that point I have to know what I'm going to do. and that's the reason why I created this post.

I always find sex in games as a side content with the main content. I mean I don't find it enjoyable when it happens so fast without a story or without reason bla bla. I like to experience sex in games with a reason. I don't mean you need a reason to have sex, I'm just talking for game mechanics. For example, I'm a survivor in a zombie apocalypse and there is a woman/man we are having sex or romance whatever but there is also a zombie apocalypse going on. So I have to eat find water and shelter beside sex. That is basicly what I'm talking about.

For example, in skyrim I always played game with sex mods but there was also main story or creatures other stuffs so that was amazing. What I want to ask to you guys is do you think sex is enough for adult games or it has to be with story and other game mechanics? Because It does feels like porn when it contains only sex for me. OFC it is my personal idea and I want to know what is yours for game. It is going to be very helpfull to me to create my game from zero. I just need diffrent opinions on this matter. Also I wanted to ask do like going on games with episodes or fnished games?

Some games are basically sex simulators and have zero story and on the other end you have story heavy games that have few sex scenes far in between.

It really depends on what kind of game you are going to go for, if you think you can write a great story that will be interesting enough to work with less sex scenes go for it.
Otherwise it might be easier to stick with a shorter and generic plot that revolves around sex.
So it is on you really, In the end you are only limited by your own creativity.

The only suggestion I would give you is to start small, make a short story first so you won't be overwhelmed and also because you will learn a lot in the process, the more you learn the more ambitious you can be with your next project.

Not every MC has to be a single inexperienced virgin. If it is the case, of course, it takes time to build relationships and maybe confidence to reach sex scenes, but for a sexually experienced MC in a relationship or maybe just used to date, it can be much easier (at least with 1 character, other wharacters being harder to get).
Also, you can have a lot of sexy content (not dreams, or watching porn please, it's an horrible way to have sex scenes in a game in my opinion) without having sex scenes. For example, if your character goes to work, just make sure to have something sexy happening instead of just work, same thing with every other situation.
I believe sex must have a very important place in an adult game. If you want to make it a side content, you have to be on par with Game of Thrones (excellent story and characters, with some sex/nudity on the side).

both things exist, it's a choice you make. and others will do the other stuff, or even yourself later.

just go towards what appeals to you. clearly you gravitate towards storytelling and problem solving with sexy goals, so do that. do what you enjoy. why settle for anything less.

depends on the game ... some games have great story lines .... which i find enjoyable , add in some sex .... even better ... but as far as just sex .. naww i'll pass ... i have a few of those already nothing there to keep interest
