Lots of whiny entitled coomers in this thread, go play one of the billion non vr games on this site. You could do that or just stop being poor.
Lots of people have VR headsets, but since you do not have one, you have not interacted with that community.
VR has become huge in the porn industry too.
There are massive amounts of VR porn videos that are so realistic that you find yourself actually trying to subconsciously grab boobs and kiss back and when ASMR is thrown in, it is mind blowing.
And the VR games blow away every 2D game ever made for their playability, realism and special effects.
I've tried all ways i can think of but cant figure out actually how to load the custom mapping in-game on the index?Sure thing xorger!
This was certainly not easy to track down. The custom controller files are located in the directory I mentioned previously ( .\Users\{USERNAME}\Documents\steamvr\input -- The '.' being your OS drive (Usually C))
From what I can gather, the files that begin steam.app.####, are the basic or default control schemes for your controllers. When you create custom controller schemes, it names them system.generated.{Name_Of_EXE}_knuckles.json
The fun part is, the name of the EXE for the game, may not be what you think it is. In this instance, the game is called Sex Machines, the EXE is called janas_max-win64 etcetera (default naming scheme from the publisher [it is a test build]).
Conveniently (sarcasm) NONE of these names is what the file is called inside the actual VR system. No no, that would be too simple. That name is buried within the json all the way at the bottom in a rather unceremonious 'name' field (picture below).

Hopefully all this helps!
Didn't try with this new version yet, but after taking a look a the picture in the post you linked, the fact you can't use it may be related to the version number. In the post you quoted, the name is stated to be SexMAC--0-4-6--Custom--Index, but I guess we're at version 0-5-5, now.I've tried all ways i can think of but cant figure out actually how to load the custom mapping in-game on the index?
You can buy an oculus go 2 cordless headset, that does not require a PC at all to work for between 250 and 500 US dollars. Those headsets will play any VR game that is compatible with Oculus rift headsets. The corded ones that use the PC are in the same range. I think that the vives are the only ones that are still pricey, and there is no real reason that they should be.Ummmmm not that much people ever do owns VR gears'n'stuff, and only an fraction of that uses VR a of the time, shows you know what you are talking of about that, out of your own butt.... But anyways.... It'll be 20+ years, till most actually owns VR equipment, and more than an fraction will uses it every day-to-day, cuz VR stuff still cost around 1000 USDs, so not your every gamer can't affords that, and some VR digital display screens, can have dead pixels in them, that can makes other pixels dead as well, the technology is still new and young, will take many many many more years, to refines it better and hopefully to drive down the cost, unless the cost of the computer chips gose up then, then welp, it's gonna drives the cost even a-lot more higher, to an point that, only an rare handful of people can affords it, but there are some major health risks of using VR stuff for far to long, and other things as well to, so yeah, VR still have a LONG WAYS to go
Glad its just not me, practically unplayable on Index, I'll give it another look when Dev figures out the issue and maps other controllersWell, first of all, it seems that the input are now stored by the game in the "system.generated.sexmachines-win64-shipping.exe_knuckles.json" file (which will be created when you start the game) and not as "system.generated.janas_max-win64-shipping.exe_knuckles.json", as it was kindly provided for the previous version by husheddeath05
So I guess this is the first issue: If you try to save or paste the file previously attached in this thread, it will have the outdated name and the game won't look into the file at all. For a reason I can't explain, though, even modifying the new, correct name doesn't seem to work. Removing the "teleport function" from the grip doesn't do jack, and as soon as you go in the game, it will revert to the grip teleport, no matter what mapping you chose. So I'm pretty much as clueless as you on this one as of now, there's probably other issue I didn't spot yet.
playable for me on quest 2So... it's unplayable on an Index, a Rift S, and a Quest 2. Who the fuck is this game even for?

Hello everyone! The build is actively being prepared for release!
There are so many changes in the game that I suggest calling it version 0.7.
Why am I missing 0.6?
To understand some aspects of the game, I decided to look at the whole game as a whole:
What can I add, what I can bring to the end, and what, unfortunately, I will have to remove and implement in the next game with more experience.
- I tried to take into account all your wishes for the entire development period, including 2rd hand, controls, new items and opportunities.
- learned a number of useful mechanics and removed the bad ones.
- A PC version is also will be avaliable with this update.
------------------
- there is also one good news that, I hope, will brighten up such a long time of this game development. I'll tell you as soon as I post the update.
------------------
I will show a complete list of changes with a demonstration in the coming days, now I have taken a leave of absence for the main work and am actively assembling a new version.
I am working on the game full day - a litte more time please.
