I can't believe I'm agreeing with PePeTheCoCk , but yea, can't say I'm a fan of these redesigns on a before/after basis, but then they also look sameface-y too... This is kinda disappointing...

For example ?
Your expectations on output time for high quality content on certain projects (this one, LoML, a couple other ones I can't remember) are really off the mark for 1 or 2 man teams especially for part-time projects. I'd be more sympathetic to some of your gripes if it seemed like you had any professional experience in any form of 3d/drawn media production, be it on writing, coding/scripting, drawing/rendering, lighting, proofreading even.

But I haven't seen any indication that you have experience any whatsoever, but 4/5ths of your posts are complaining, not even offering useful critique. But yes, for once I do agree with your critique on the redesign.

Have to make a difference between handdrawn art & 3d render.
3d depends (mostly) on the computing power and with 2d it fully depends on the artist
It's not like i just orientate myself on anything, but on reliable developers like when it comes to 3d it's NLT (Treasure Of Nadia) which gets updated every 2 weeks & Eroniverse who works on a handdrawn game "Confined with Godesses" that game receives new versions monthly.
With this said both categories have been covered.
Now you can say "but these are the absolute benchmarks what about others that need much more time".

DrPinkCake & PhillyGames for example, i adore both of them they take a long time compared to the benchmarks but not everyone can be such a machine & their product is convincing, great animations, graphics, lots of content, brilliant story & they don't overuse trump cards like problems with family, feeling bad or whatever.

They have to work like everyone else, even if they have personal problems who doesn't have them ? we don't live in the land of milk and honey.

It's perfectly fine to criticize devious dudes like Icstor, PsychoDelusional, Lewdlab, GZone & UberPie
(so people who are extremely lazy, full of excuses and almost only cashing in)

Jamliz is another case where i smell scam (of course not on the same level as Icstor & the others) but slowly something is emerging cause he started strong but weakened over time and keeps coming with new excuses altough he reached all his goals especially the third which was:
AOK.png

Nevertheless he pulls the whole thing over the stage with senseless "improvements" what he calls "redesigns"

Btw i was wrong with Loml & apologized, NaughtyRoad does the whole thing only part time he rarely publishes updates and apparently they come with a lot of content.

I don't agree with some of your assessments but I appreciate you spelling it out. I'm gonna hard disagree with you about JamLiz, their output is great, if you look at the animation frames it's clear they take their time and you can see the major increase in frames and quality in recent releases compared to their early fast output. Eroniverse started work on CWG about 1 1/2 years before the first release, so if you haven't been following him for as long as I have I guess you'd think his pacing is miraculous. He also uses fewer frames than JamLiz.

UberPie can't write nor do I think he's good at coding, I can't tell 100% cuz I can't be assed to figure out how to decompile Unity games, but his drawings are top-notch and his ragdolls are pretty damn detailed and animated. Each release has about 2-3 hours of content from him, which is equal to 3-6 months of output from some other hand drawn artists. I'm actually literally playing Amity Park right now, I avoided it for a long time because I couldn't decompile it properly but VepsrP has done a great job modernizing UnRen over the last 8-9 months and it can handle almost anything now, but I've looked at their art and it's an extremely faithful recreation of the source material and the lightning in crazy. I'll take a look at the animations, writing, and the code, and assess their output afterwards. Actually, just realized they changed some of the art so I'm gonna have to scour for the last update before this one...

PsychoDelusional is a total amateur and spent a ton of time learning between Dark Neighborhood and Apocalust, and it shows; even so Dark Neighborhood was extremely well done, had a coherent visual motif and made great use of warm lighting and focus to maintain said motif. He's still been providing patron rewards for each tier even though he hasn't been putting out updates but the demo shows that he's been working on a lot of custom UX (which actually takes time, believe it or not). His code is still super basic from the Apocalust demo but maybe he's been working on some game systems or a more complex gameplay loop he couldn't show in the demo--we'll see in the first official release. Also he's said he's changed his tastes/writing style so we'll know what's come of that.

Also like I've said earlier in the LoML thread, NLT has been doing this for over 20 years and has at least one coder, whether you believe me on that or not lol.

I'm not gonna defend everyone but I think people underestimate some of the work that goes into this stuff, especially as an amateur learning as you go.

I'm gonna tell you right now, this is not being animated by hand on a frame by frame basis.
Animating a porn game at 60 fps the old fashioned way just isn't a thing, that would be obscene amounts of work. This is using a software, there are several games that do the same.
As for how long it takes to animate in those softwares, I don't know, but I can assure you, JamLiz isnt drawing 10x more than the early releases

I've said earlier there are 7-10 frames per animation, as you can see if you check my post history in this thread... I've never said they were 60 FPS or agreed with their assertion on that point, just that they were smooth. Most hand drawn animated games on here don't use 7-10 frames per animation, most I've been able to verify use about 4, maybe up to 6 so they are well above average. I define animation as a single back-and-forth sex act, as obviously you just flip the order going back the other direction... Some of the early animation did use 4-6 frames actually, as far as I remember so their art is better and they use more frames.

Tbh, it doesn't get into my head how the animations in sexnote have 60fps look at summertime saga the h scenes have only 12 frames but they look much smoother.

Uber's art is awesome fully agree but hardly any scenes are animated at all & his changelog can't be true i mean how does he get such numbers: 150+ new full scenes, where are these ?

In case you didn't know, Uber announced that there will be no "mega" updates anymore & now even though these so-called mega updates will no longer be released, it takes longer, before we receive something new from him.
That's why people thought that would mean that at least the timeframe between the updates would be much smaller, wrong instead it takes even longer...

If you like the new update you are one of the few, most people weren't satisfied with the new stuff, Team Bieno delivered.
Understandable after they showed a big middle finger to everyone that liked Amity Park for what it was, a parody game of danny phantom, Gzone's art played an important role in this endeavor style cause he was on point with duplicating the shows art but they decided in between to replace him with another dude who have a total different style, (DC for example make polls & asks what his patrons wanna see next, they on the other hand did not find that necessary they just did what they want) would have understand that if they used the new art from the beginning but in the middle of the game its a big turn off.

Allegedly the new ones look "sexier", exactly the opposite is the case
This downgrade took them nearly 1 year.

Doesn't change the fact that he didn't pause his patreon & sometimes just disappeared for several months without any sign of life (not to mention that he never kept his promises...)
A good role model for such a procedure is Stiglet, he has found it necessary to be honest with his supporters and to pause his earnings during the transition to the next game he also kept his fanbase always up to date.

(BTW Apocalust looks like the best h game ive ever seen when it comes to models & animations but that's all everything we got was a 5 min demo in 2 years.)

Also like I've said earlier in the LoML thread, NLT has been doing this for over 20 years and has at least one coder, whether you believe me on that or not lol.
Other devs have groups of five or more, icstor said he hired someone who can exactly copy his work but the result was nearly 2 years not one update.
His goal was just to prevent the abandoned tag (what he finally received anyway).

I keep coming back to the conclusion that the most important thing is still the will (drive).

Absolutely. Also just did a winmerge on 7.5 and 8.0 of Amity Park and was confused because most of the art is still identical except for some file optimization with smaller sizes, but I then noticed some of the new art and yea the new art style is a bummer. The last version of the game I touched before tonight was 3.1 to give you an idea of how much I've been following it, lol. Uber Pie, we'll see what his next update is like I've been satisfied so far but I'm not giving him any money.

Stiglet at first didn't take any Patrons and was already quite far into The Visit by the time he did... Also he's doing what Psycho did for a long time, providing patron rewards besides game releases right now... Not sure when Psycho went totally dead while taking money, I'm pretty sure he was still providing non-game updates, even more than Stiglet, like pinups, polls, animations, test renders, try-on hauls, etc, which is what his patron tiers promise. Just cuz no one leaks his rewards doesn't mean he isn't giving them. I have rewards from game patreons I've subscribed to that I've never seen leaked, including some whole live action porn videos and photoshoots.

I've never defended ICSTOR post Incest Story 2 and I never will.

Yeah they killed there own game it looks now more anime-ish & lost it's cartoon flavor.
The last good version of AP was 0.7.5

I'm aware that not every post is always published here uncensored, you don't need to be a patreon to see whether there is a new post by, for example, Psycho, you can still see the locked version... (at least)

That’s what it’s about:
Ok1.png

Ok2.png

He sometimes pretends to be dead for months although he promises to drop status updates bi monthly.

So as you can see, my criticism is not by chance but has various valid reasons that can be proven, and if it's not true, i'll take it back.

I personally will give every dev the benifit of the doubt until it's became very clear something shady is going on. It's not the case here, setbacks do happen, and I'll not be pointing fingers at anyone.
However, this discussion begun by saying that PePeTheCoCk was having unrealistic expectations about the release date. Well, I don't think that's fair either, considering the devs themselves projected this update to be released last month, as a replacement for another update that will end up delayed by at least 2 months. So regardless of Pepe's history, in this case, if anyone had unrealistic expectations were the devs themselves. Delays are never a good look, so devs in general shouldn't be loose with their promises.

Word, you know what's funny, most devs release the first few builds monthly but after some time passed & people get addicted to there products, suddenly the excuses start like ilness and personal problems out of nowhere.
I mean this can happen but strangely, that happens to so many h devs, it seems as if they are synchronized.
In addition, it would be new to me that you don't have to work if you have personal problems so at least my boss doesn't accept that as an excuse.
Above all, it's interesting that after they achieve there patreon goals (instead of getting faster updates) the contrary happens, they provide updates less often, behind the pretext they would make "improvements", and this have to take so much time, bla bla bla...

And i immediately warned that all these "f...king stories" from the life of the developer and the constant delays in release do not bode well. But many users pounced on me like a herd of jackals - now get a shovel full of shit.
Eat and do not crap!
