Solid game, but imo not exactly well thought through. So, you are some average joe having "out of his league" girlfriend, a stereotype I really don't like. I didn't feel any affection between them, their texts are pretty cold, more like between colleagues than partners (get a bit better later in the game, though), the amount of time she goes somewhere on her own, not even telling MC... yeah, they sure are really close. :D

She as well seems to be a good girl to the "no sex before marriage" point, but first thing her best friend tells you is "she's out of your league, you should let her fuck others". It doesn't make any sense. The author as well pushes Ben to the front too fucking much. Even if I was all for sharing her, friends are off limits, so the ways author pushes Ben is seriously annoying for me. Especially the whole "send pic to Ben" all over the place. He's not going to get anything, not even a pic. But I'm sure plenty of players wants exactly this - best friend banging your GF. Never understood it, to be honest.

While writing is overall solid, the choices we get are... not good. Really don't like when you have to purposefully act like a douchebag or avoid your GF to get to the netorase path. I understand doing that for netorare path, but netorase is about love between the partners first and foremost, purposefully choosing options to degrade the relationship to get there doesn't make sense. So I have very mixed feelings about this game. Hope it's going to get a bit clearer in the future and that there is going to be netorase path without Ben (unlikely, but we'll see).
You might need to replay the game a few more times because some of what you say is wrong.

For one, the MC is not your average joe, at least compared to your usual phone MC. Dude is at least on the same level as Ben - does all the things Ben does except he doesn't go to the gym, but you can easily remedy that on the very first chapter - only that he's a programmer. In fact, one would argue that the MC is more competent than Ben because the latter doesn't seem to have a real job per se and is still in the sleep-around-and-find-out phase.

Chloe says you're "out of Mel's league" but if you treat her well she herself falls for you, so who's to say her opinion is always right? Or maybe she's just jealous Mel got to you first. As for Jennifer, you start right out of the bat with her showing clear interest in you. No matter how you look at it the MC is not an average joe.

Mel isn't a "no sex before marriage" girl. The two of you already fucked even before the game begins. It has been brought up to the dev repeatedly that Mel shouldn't be as "conservative" with her private pics in the Lovers route and they will be doing something about that.

About Ben, look there is no such thing as writing a story that satisfies everyone. It so happens this is not your thing. Understandable, but Ben will be a thing in this particular phone game. You'll either have to accept it or look elsewhere.

Finally, you do NOT have to act like a douchebag or avoid your GF to get the netoraSE path. Literally pick the most lovey-dovey choices ever but still pick a plethora of NTS choices and you will get NTS. In fact most people played it that way. It's only during the NTR route that you have to act like a douche and push her away.

It's a good game, but the hints "don't work", they don't indicate the "right" cheating path. There are too many choices, too many unknown variables. I can only get on the path of cuckolding.

Fair enough. One thing though, did you play some early access? Because I played two chapters while you, it seems, played more. :D There was nothing like Chloe falling for MC (maybe you know about their plans for the game?) and yes, Jennifer is interested in MC, but that seemed to me more likely because she's very shy and not so confident girl (maybe she's even supposed to be "not that attractive", but that's always hard to tell in these games where all girls look good by default) and they have a lot in common (actually bantering between MC and Jen was the best part of the game for me). Yeah, as I mentioned I know people like the whole best friend scenario. I don't. But what irks me more about this in this game is the way it's pushed. If it happened more naturally sure, but sending him pictures of your GF, encouraging them hanging out or something, it doesn't feel good to me. You should start by encouraging HER, to be more daring, flirt around, be more confident and free-spirited, not just pushing her directly to the arms of your friend. I guess I can only hope there are going to be more options for her to fool around, not just Ben, more about her being naughty in general than having a serious affair with your friend. Honestly if it was to me I would never want to meet any of GF potential lovers, much less knowing them beforehand.

I asked the dev the same thing, and apparently, that’s the way Cheating was written so far for CH2 (you have to be an asshole to her), but going forward, the NTR will happen without such “forward” tactics from the boyfriend (from happenstance as the gf works in the bar surrounded by dudes all day).
But then the question is if you have to set these flags first before that can happen or if these flags are useless.

Wow, ok, I have tried the NTS path. On love path GF acts like a church girl but on NTS path she's completely crazy. :D WTF?! It's so weird. She's so into it right from the getgo, even thinking about Ben while fucking MC in the only sex scene there is in the game. Crazy. But I guess if the game goes both ways, that is MC will be allowed to fool around with other girls as well with GF's approval, I will be able to enjoy it, to an extend. :p Art is real nice.

I think those flags are for the CH2 "cheating kiss" first and foremost. I don't really know how it will look like once you don't have to be a douchebag anymore, but I'm guessing you will miss the club "cheating" event, but Mel will slowly start cheating on you while working as a bartender - if you don't keep her Love points high enough (wouldn't make sense otherwise). Which means, don't say "I love you" back sometime, don't be the perfect boyfriend at all times (make a mistake here and there), and watch the NTR unfold :sneaky:

as a game thats pretty much 100% text based i should be able to go back and read the entire text history, or there should be a description with the texts explaining context to the images in the gallery. good game and good tho, the fast forward feature is something all phone style games need.

I'm really enjoying finding all the pics in this game, it's been fun seeing what you can change to get what. I don't mind the whole ben being involved thing, but i do sort of wish there was more content with the other girls as well, with your GF being fully aware and happy with it preferably.
I hit a couple of bugs in the later game, almost all of them around the people at the club, Things where I specifically told ben he was talking to me and not Mel, and she still got mad that I told him things I didn't tell him. And also a part where I didn't get a bathroom pic, but got to send a bathroom pic to ben somehow.
Otherwise things worked and I enjoyed myself!

I mean cheating does happen even in loving relationships. It's a common misconception that only bad relationships have cheating. Say your wife has a crush on Ben. She's gonna go to a party, you get a choice to join or let her have fun. If you let her go she gets drunk and has sex with Ben and either regrets and tells you, or keeps it hidden, maybe continues. This is proper cheating path if you ask me. But this is just one example. Hot work colleague who charms her is another example, and requires protagonist to be on his toes to keep her his and not cheat with her colleague.

I agree. The most interesting form of NTR is when it mimics a scenario when you, the player (as MC), does everything right... but the situation still unfolds unfavourably (get cheated on).

In the great words of Captain Picard: "It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose; that is not weakness - that is life!"

However, that would be a nightmare to code when speaking of cheating in AVNs, so a few "mistakes" should be allowed as the gateway to cheating.

That could work with some element of randomness in the stat checks, where doing everything right makes it very unlikely to happen, but each mistake increases the likelihood. The only drawback to that is people wanting surefire ways to ensure they get on the path they want. Very few games use true RNG, and those almost never do it right.

I wouldn't call RNG a good mechanic in choice-driven narrative-focused games like AVNs, so it's best if some small, unassuming mistakes cause the cheating to happen. Not being a perfect boyfriend doesn't mean you use your gf to train kickboxing.

The choices can still be obvious, but maybe a bit complicated with letting her go by her day alone and stumbling upon ben multiple times before the party for example. After x amount of meetings she develops some base feelings and is prone to cheat. Otherwise she says no

I agree with the basic principle behind your example. However, the choices would still boil down to “go spend time with your gf” or “stay home and be lazy” UNLESS there are ‘rewards’ for staying home instead of being with her. Otherwise, it can still just be classified as being an asshole towards her.
