Sorry, I’m not really sure. The noise is most likely the intro sound. Try using the Ctrl key to skip that part and it might work. If not, I honestly have no idea what’s happening on your end. It looks like a system error.
Can you make the Android version not patreon exclusive?

A better way to do it would be to make a version with exclusive content for patreon, instead of completely cutting off access to a platform.
I’m sure you definitely know better than me how I should distribute the game :)
And I’m really grateful for your opinion.
Maybe that’s how it will be in the future, but not right now, since the game doesn’t have any exclusive content.
Later on, I might release a fully censored version for itch.io, made for mobile.

So you bar a group of people who may not have access to pcs from playing your game, unless they pay to play your game?
I feel like you’re trying to paint me as the bad guy here. But what your words basically sound like is: “What if I don’t want to support the game or the developer and just want to play something for free? Who cares if you spent a year of your life on this, that’s not my problem.”

And honestly, I get it. I know most people don’t care. :)
I don’t blame you for wanting a free game. But the reality is, future updates only exist because of the people who support the project. I’m genuinely thankful to them because their support lets me make games as more than just a hobby.

If the game hadn’t received enough support, it would’ve stayed as just a demo. In that case, sure, I probably would’ve thrown up an Android version and then closed the project for good.

I’m not a big studio. I’m one person who’s been making games in my free time for 5 years, and this project was my last attempt at making something profitable. Notice that in the free version, I didn’t cut anything out, and I don’t want to create a divide between free and paying players moving forward either.

Sorry for the wall of text. I’ll try not to respond to messages like this in the future :)

Game so far has been pretty good. Pretty intense story, but if all this Italian mobster business is just leading up to some Tony Soprano joke like "Gabagool Grab a Gura? Over here!", then I will be a trifle miffed.

Sorry if i come as a bit of a jerk in the following message, my intentions are to explain why i made that comment and apologize for it. I have a low charisma score so im bad at speaking and come off rudely when i dont intend to and genuinely mean to apologize or other stuff.

Sorry yeah, I did come off as a bit of a dick. It's just that it feels a little unfair that the platforms get unequal treatment.

I have looked at your patreon and am a free member, and if i had the money i would purchase a membership.

It's just that there's free access for the other three platforms you can play on, and then on top of that there are patches which add extra content for those who pay to support the game on patreon as of recently, which is a great way to make money off of a game that your letting people play for free and I dont have anything against. how does one do a strike through on f95? I have since come to learn that I was completely wrong when making this paragraph.

Im used to other people not making a mobile version for their games making unity games unplayable, and games created in ren'py rpg maker html or flash only playable through emulator, so when I sent a message saying that I was unable to emulate this game and asking for help with that, and got a response from the dev saying they'd make a mobile version, I got my hopes up a bit, and was a little frustrated when I made that comment.

Also i just read through the message im replying to right now, looked at the patreon again and am now realizing that the exclusive content mentioned in the patreon may not be ingame content, and the only patreon exclusive thing may be the mobile version, in which case disregard everything i said about inequalities between the versions and stuff, and sorry for this whole thing.
Also sorry for the wall of text
Tldr; im sorry for my previous messages, and i realize that the exclusive content mentioned on the patreon might not be exclusive content for the other platforms, and mobile is the only thing being paid for in which case I misunderstood when I made my original comment and having the mobile be paid for is completely fine as its the main source of income from this game.

Fucking ingrate. The dev reads the comments here. Are you going to make a surprised Pikachu face when another dev abandons a game project due to the shit people like you say?
I’m totally fine with constructive criticism. I’ve got enough people supporting me to keep me motivated, so thank you so much for that!
Being dissatisfied is normal, and honestly, he’s right, this really is just half of the game.
Maybe he didn’t notice that this is version 0.1.1, which in most projects means it’s not finished yet. Developers usually label the full release as version 1.0.

It’s all good. I should apologize too. I think after the upcoming update I’ll reconsider my approach to exclusive content and make Android a fully supported platform as well. I’ve seen other developers release the latest update on Patreon while keeping the older one free, and I might switch to that system. Though I do enjoy when people share their impressions of the game. I think this way everyone will be happy.

I don’t think negative aspects of the game should be ignored, just like the positive ones. Only by being open about both can we work together to create the game of our dreams ‍↕

But I honestly didn’t expect anyone to stand up for my feelings as a developer. Thank you, CAPTAIN DIDDLES and Agents87, that’s really sweet of you :)
This is something totally new for me..

I like the game, just a couple of things (although feel free to ignore me, its your game lol):

Going into the hospital and having to click again to go into the room where you work SUCKSS, like yea its one click but when you're doing it over and over, especially because the click to back out is the opposite side of the screen to leave the work room then leave the hospital, it gets really old really fast. Adding a way to go directly to the map, or even having the back out from the room then hospital on the same side of the screen would be a huge QOL for me.

The art when she is under the cover doing stuff... looks completely different? It kinda threw me off a little.

I didn't like how it just ended the demo without any reason why, like you just get to a cutscene and that's it, demo ended. Something on the quest book that says 'this will end the current version' or even letting you stay in free-play would be nice. I know that this is only a demo so it doesn't matter too much but I hope future versions don't do the same thing when you finish the current content.

When feeding her some kind of indication of how much it fills would be nice, its a lot of guesswork atm. Just like a % next to them or something?

The puzzle game feels... laggy? Idk how else to explain it. You cant click fast, it doesn't register it.

The gambling game feels incredibly unfair at the moment, maybe I'm just unlucky but I just could not win, at all, so ended up just save scumming it. The whole point of gambling being in a game like this is that you profit over time, or it will just go unused, so adding some kind of player favor would, I think, be a good idea. Let them win more even if that's not REALLY how it should work.

Just to be clear the only reason I'm even taking the time to write this is because I genuinely like the gameplay and concept, so please don't think I'm just trying to say bad things. Even if none of this was changed I'd still play it, it's just the things that stuck out to me or bothered me while I was playing it.

Thank you so much for such detailed feedback!

I think you might be right about the two-step transition into the location, but that could make the protagonist’s movement a bit unpredictable, which might break some scripts. So I will probably not change that.

About the cards, they are completely random. There is no hidden weighting that favors the player or the opponent. You are playing on equal footing.

If you meant the uncle’s loot boxes, you should play them for the items rather than the cash rewards. The bicycle is very useful. It halves the time-of-day cost.

The art where she is hugging the protagonist was made using the same process as the others. It just turned out to be the hardest one for me. I struggle with volume and three-dimensional forms. I know it looks worse than the rest.

As for the puzzles, this is a very strange situation. They used to work fine, and then at some point they just started to lag. I will try to do something about it, but I cannot promise anything.

Shark Girl has stats for hunger, joy, and love. You just need to tap them to see how much each thing gives.

Yes, in future updates I will add a message that says this is where the demo ends. I will probably not allow play to continue, because that could break scripts. But adding the message is easy, haha.

(In games like this it is very easy to br
eak scripts ha ha)
