Star Channel 34 is the latest game, it may have spoilers.
I don't think it makes any difference if you start from Princess Trainer or Witch Trainer.
As for WT, there are a few mods with more characters and quests.

Silver mod is definitely the one with more additional content.
But I enjoyed also the ones made by Sad Crab and Feodosiy.

I mean release order would make the most sense, so:
- Magic Shop (it's not that much about story, though from what I remember it technically leads into PT)
- Princess Trainer
- Witch Trainer
- Star Channel 34
