Enemies are fast, and crowd fights are a one way ticket to checkpoint reloads.
Even the average enemy is hard to dodge, when he jumps across the field in order to bonk your head with his wooden bamboo stick.
You typically have enough hp to last minor damage suffered throughout the platforming levels.
You do not have enough hp to face tank the boss.
The boss has absurdly high hp, while your melee attacks only chip away at it.
On the other hand, the boss can 2 or 3 shot you with his typical fist.
The only reliable way to beat this boss is to counter attack him, when he charges up his special barrel attack.
You need to be close enough in order to counter him and the time window is small.
Therefore, you need to learn his attack animations (particularly during his barrel phase), so you can dodge him without using your dash.
Dashing often places you too far away for any counter.
Compared to the rather relaxed platforming, this boss fight requires high focus, reflexes and very good foresight with timing.
I have mixed feelings on this stark contrast.
My gamer instincts love a good fight, but the extreme difficulty spike gave me post nut-clarity, before I actually nutted.
Overall, the game is seriously well crafted and has great potential.
If anything needs polishing, then it's the sneak/finisher move, as it has serious trouble locking onto enemies that have a slightly higher elevation than you do.
