That's a glitch, sometimes the screen lock never goes away after killing the big dude. Especially when you use your "I" attack instead of normal attack with the recent version, since it immediately kills and doesn't let you milk the enemy. So kill big guy with normal attack next time.

I also found a glitch when you're hit by the shield dude either mid-dashing or in the "E" grab/attack animation, you're stun locked indefinitely but also invincible.
