Is there a requirement for games to get a proper thread?
Since it would be nice to have the current version attached to the front/first post instead of having to scout the whole thread.
We are not talking saves here but the actual playable game.

I think it has something to do with an English version, or the progress of an English translation.

So far as I'm aware, the requirement for a game thread is that the game is fully playable in coherent English. MTL is a gray area that I'm not exactly sure what counts and what doesn't.

I've seen multiple game threads that started with just an MTL.

I have too. I've also seen games with only MTLs get rejected. That's why I said "MTL is a gray area that I'm not exactly sure what counts and what doesn't."

Not 100% sure what all the requirements are, but as I mentioned before one of them is that the game has an english version/translation

Given its current state, probably no one considers it worth the effort. The updates are far and between as well.

A good example is the Tunnel Escape first game. It had been sitting around in one of these threads for awhile, either this one or the Translation Request one. It only hit the Games thread like a little over halfway of it before it was finished/released.

Usually it would be versions but this one is a bit on the slower side.
At least the long dev time goes into the high quality pixel art.
So no, there wont be new versions at the end of the month guaranteed, but we all hope there will be.
FOBS on the other hand releases a new version of the game, currently being remastered, every end of the month.
