Havn't played in ages, beautiful game though. I assume after the barrel boss the game is over? First post could benefit with controls and like a refresher on how to take down shield enemies. I swear the game used to hold your hand the first time you saw them, but maybe I am crazy.

While the game certainly has a lot of rooms to improve, the reason you can't beat this boss sure doesn't have anything to do with how it was badly programmed. As others have said, it's mainly skill issue on your part. You say the game tried too hard to be hard when literally every ennemy in the game, except for the boss, can easily be 1-shoted. Your character is slow, but so are the ennemies, it's fairly easy to telegraph incoming moves. From the picture, you're currently playing the latest v0.1. The boss in this version is a nerfed version of v0.0.7. I made a video demonstration on how to deal with each one:
In a old post for v0.0.7

Unless one's brain is fully powered by porn, I don't see how people are finding this boss impossible. Sure, it's a hard boss, but not to the point of requiring legendary gaming skill to beat. I've seen some wild takes saying that this boss is harder than most Elden Ring's bosses and... I honestly cannot fathom the reasoning behind this. Compared to all of Fromsoft's games, this boss is like baby difficulty. The reality is, most people who come to these porn games are there for the porn and not to play a game, hence the complaints when faced with a certain degree of difficulty. To these people I say, find another game. Not all hentai games are mainly porn, some focuses on gameplay, some other on story. Nothing wrong with any of this.

The issue I had with him and that I think a lot of others were as well, is if your character doesn't do the third attack in the sequence, the flying ass slam, all other attacks do basically no damage. I somehow managed to nail him with 2 of 3 fireballs from the scroll attack and it did as much damage as a single ass hit, which is much much much easier to land.Up until you posted the video I wasn't even aware the flying ass attack was part of the sequence, since I was decent at stealth and the few foes who I didn't get the drop on went down in one or two hits. I understand this is still a demo, but that needs to be expressed to the player in game, as otherwise you are looking at needing 50+ basic hits on him to even get him to halfway, which isn't really viable for most players with very limited build options this early into a game.

That said though phenominal otherwise, looking forward to future releases.

This is one of those cases where while I get where you're coming from, that would probably be seen as a bit insulting to the player. The thing about these games is that since they're explicitly made for adults, specifically ones that have touched a few video games. This means that it's unlikely they will hold your hand very much. It expects that a 3-hit combo is commonplace enough for you to expect it, or at least that you're wise enough to test if it's there. They'd have to forego the expectation that you at least have a mild understanding of what you're doing before going in. There are a few mechanics that are set up like that, in fact, such as the insta-takedown and the elbow drop. It tells you enough to get you started, but essentially tells you "if you can't discover these things on your own, then you're not going to survive later." While it does set the bar for entry a little higher than usual, this isn't an uncommon thing for games to do, it just seems that a lot of people here (not even exclusively the ones paying attention to this game, just Zoners in general) are not used to that. I personally don't think that's something that needs to change, as the design intent definitely feels like it's meant to reward those who try and bend the rules to their will instead of staying right between the lines.

Now that I type that out, I think I've narrowed down exactly why this game's difficulty spike is so hard for most even though I personally never felt it; the game doesn't expect you to play by the rules it's laid out word for word, bar for bar. It expects you to bend them as much as you see fit, to mold them to their limit or at least to your liking. For those that do that anyway, the game is cakewalk. But to those that tend to play by the rules, it becomes much more of an issue.

I practically never use the 3rd hit in combo because it's slow. Just 2-hit it and aim for the shield break. The shield break is important anyway, the game practically punishes you when you deal with shield mobs until you learn how to do so.
By ignoring the shield break and thinking "it'd take forever to chip him to death", it's like playing Sekiro and use roll instead of parry. That's why people said Sekiro was difficult, they just rolled and chipped bosses which took way longer, when anyone that learned about posture break feels it's fast enough.
