Ren'Py - Simple Days [v0.18.2] [Mega Lono]

The grind is strong with this one. Dora is a hot model. Lots of pregnancy stuff. Pretty easy to see where things are going. You can actually have more than one kid. But the grind is strong. Turn skip dialogue on or it'll take four times as long.

I love the MC's story arc in this game, as well as the variety and quality of the female sexual/love interests. The animations and sound effects (female moaning) are top notch as well, excellent work. Can't wait for the next update!!

OMG this latest Download is awesome you did great job with graphics and sex seen and i am only like 5 minutes in is the beginning like this i will have to go replay it. Game has been one of the best i have ever played love the story and all the content great work

I gave it 4 stars because it's a decent Harem game and harem games are my personal favorite.... but it seems to drag on a little bit... (*Grind, in other words*) Yes, there are several repeating scenes where you can have all the sex.... but, honestly, there's not a lot of story to it... you just sort of go around collecting girls and having babies.... I'm enjoying the sex part, (another reason for the 4 stars) But I am confused as to what the end game is here...... (This is for v0.13.0)

th idea of making pregnancy not just an late game theme is innovativ, not many games out there that do that.

big minus are forced scenes which includes drugs and future bdsm if you not into that kind skip this game because it's unavoidable. overall it's average, renders are good, animations decent and story meh.

the mc behaves in some situations like he is 16 years old. and does some things that are quite creepy ( manipulate condoms, secretly impregnate the best friend's girlfriend or exchange birth control pills) if you are into this kind ok i'm not judging and it's avoidable but some things are not.

This game has good tags. The models are decent. Some of the RPG elements are fun.

But all of this is really held back by really bad UX. Halfway through the game it switches to a Sandbox that is grindier than some RPGM games. There's a notebook that tracks events, which is nice, but it's deceptive because most of the events don't actually trigger unless you do some of the other events in the notebook first, which isn't tracked, so you have no option but to do Trial and Error and see if the original event is ready to go.

The problem with this is that the events trigger only on certain days at certain time segments (so a 1/7*5 choice) but there is NO OPTION TO SKIP DAYS or time segments.. Legit you will get carpal tunnel from pressing Dress up > Click door > Eat Breakfast > Go to work > Spam Leave Spa 5 times > Sleep. Some of the girls have like 2 events per week so ... yeah.

The game also has some bad Engrish, the girls describe MC's dick as "Big Brother" (which gave me a chuckle every time ngl)

is totally out of my expectation,this is one of the great games I've ever played in F95. In begining I think just like other renpy game only will follow story develop, but when the half game change to sandbox model is most fun place

Finally giving this game a review at v12.1. Don't let my 2-star rating fool you, I like this game in for certain reasons but I need to be objective in my review. If the developer is reading any of these reviews, I hope they are willing and able to continue addressing the many shortcomings of their game. They've made great progress, but it's far from over. Maybe then, I could give this game the 4 or 5 star rating I want to give it.

Simple Days is an impregnation harem VN, and completely breaks the status quo of pregnancy in adult games. In most VNs, you don't get any pregnancy until the every end. Most RPGM games usually treats pregnancy a negative status or a result of a bad ending.
Mega Lono had the audacity to do what everyone with a pregnancy fetish wants to see in an adult VN: You can keep getting your girls pregnant and it's all a part of the story. I can't remember the exact number, but almost 10 girls can get pregnant, and about 4 of them can have 2 or more babies, as of this build. Most devs won't do this because "it's too much work." I'm sure it is a lot of work, but that hasn't stopped Mega Lono. Well done, sir.

That's about where the good stuff ends.

1) The Characters:
The MC is basically a rapist and a retard with level 9001 plot armor. Everything goes his way, "just because."
- Barely 5 minutes into the game, the MC gets an opportunity to stealth creampie a girl by removing the condom when she isn't looking.
- His master plan to impregnate Dora is to put a bunch of holes in the condom, then sleep on top of her with his dick still inside. And she's somehow okay with it (this doesn't happen).
- With Moko, she can magically get pregnant the same day you replace her birth control pills.
- The MC can creampie his best friend's girl while she's "sleeping," and somehow she can't tell the difference in the size of their dicks.

You get the idea.

The list goes on, and somehow all of these girls are perfectly content with the fact this guy is sleeping around and knocking up every girl he sets his eyes on - and there are zero consequences. It's the literal definition of a juvenile fantasy.
The only character remotely believable is the one girl who wants to be a single mother. You get to have sex with her three times and then she's out of the picture.

2) The Writing
The quality of the writing is inconsistent, usually incompetent at best. I honestly can't tell if English simply isn't Mega Lono's first language, if he doesn't care that much, or something else is at work. Regardless, the results speak for themselves. The characters frequently speak in an annoyingly inorganic manner, and I think it's a major problem.

3) The Gameplay
The game starts as a semi-sandbox VN. Each day is mostly the same as the last, and you choose which relationships to pursue by calling those people. Each progresses independently for the most part. It works, but you will want to skip all the unnecessary bits where the MC is driving to work, tapping on his keyboard. Just watch out or you'll miss phone call opportunities at the end of various days.
The second half of the game feels like Mega Lono's attempt to go clean slate without starting a new project. The MC moves to a new city, takes his harem with him, and is making bank at his new job. This country just happens to be more accepting of men sleeping with many women, you can see where this is going.
You will eventually be prompted to play the game in either a VN style or a full sandbox with a map to navigate. ...Ugh... One of the key changes of the sandbox mode is repeatable events. In other words, we go from a semi-organic VN where progress in your relationships was observable, to a more obvious game where you will find yourself reading the exact same conversation 100 times over again. Yeah... easily not one of Mega Lono's better game design decisions.

4) Graphics/Animations
The characters are par. Not the best looking, but servicable. The animations are VERY inconsistent. Sometimes they're really smooth and well done, others are straight up choppy as fuck.

My advice for the dev if they're reading:
- For sanity's sake, pick a gaming style. VN or Sandbox, not both. You're wasting your time trying to please everyone. I strongly recommend going VN style and adding a scene gallery, but the decision is yours.
- Please get a proofreader/editor, or take some courses in creative writing. This is easily the weakest part of the game.
- Finish cleaning up chapter 1, there is still a lot of leftover garbage from previous builds filled with those unnecessary "next auto" buttons interrupting scenes. Yes it's old content, but you should want to be able to make a good impression on new players who will be playing the game from the beginning.
- Cut all of the content that doesn't matter and will never matter: like making the decision if the MC takes a shower or not, or eats breakfast or not. Spare yourself and us from unnecessary tediousness.

In summary:
I'm not asking for this game to be top tier and competing with the highest rated VNs on F95. I just hate finding low quality writing and bad game design decisions being left unaddressed. It feels half-assed because some things, like spelling and grammar, are very easily fixed.
With all that said, lets put this way: if Being A DIK is like hiring an escort at $1000 an hour for a whole night, then Simple Days is like getting a street-side hooker at $25 for twenty minutes, but she could easily charge $400 if only she had basic fashion sense. Sometimes you just need cheap and dirty, but you also don't want it to be too cheap and too dirty. Despite its current state, it still might help you get off if you put fetish over quality.

Enjoy the game.

It is a great game. While it can be a bit repetitive it is compensated by the evolution of the characters and how entertaining the theme of impregnation is. The MC is not a jerk and the girls are hot. It can still improve a lot with more characters and developing the story of the pills.

This game has a few shortcomings, but if you want a harem pregnancy simulator then you are at the right place.

The renders and animation could use some refinement, especially the first arc of the game. Like all porn the plot isn't going to win an academy award.

While the 1st act of the game is a visual novel, the 2nd part quickly can become about pregnancy management. As the game progresses and more girls are added I expect this to ramp up even more.

So here is to a game that isn't horrible, but could use some polish.

FUN!
Play from ch1 and well you are in a typical VN(with good models and a fun story)....then WOOOSH go to ch2 and play as an open world(or continue vn...choose free roam WAY more content). I have never seen this in a game before and was a bit worried. It works though,and works well!

This game has one of the best harem and pregnancy concept. Hope it will be continue that way. Graphics are beautiful and it seems that the story will be more interesting in the future. I will be watching this game with great interest.

i have mixed feelings when writing this review, just as the game has mixed genres. hard to write review, cuz game have 2 separated parts- vn and sndbox...
PRO:
- not bad art
- no critical bugs
- not bad content amount
- almost all end_of_content marked(i mean player got info like "mby we ll fcuk in another update")
- many choices stored in variables (it mean- good future save compatibility)
- story ersatz is ok and enough for that game
CONS:
- almost all code is ok (not ideal, but ok), but some thins work badly, as example: if u press CTRL key- you will be taken away(phone screen, map, appartments etc)
- anticheat system... for what purpose it here? pathetic
- permanent patreon button. dev, if you think it will help, you're wrong - it will only piss player off. i cuted that s*** in 10-15 seconds, but many players cht do that- have some respect for them!
- in sandbox part no journal/hints/helper (dnt tell me about "helper" in pc- its useless)

there is no conclusion, cuz i cnt formulate- too many mixed feelings.

It was a lot more fun then I was expecting going in. Some of the animations could be polished, hell, 'could be polished' is applicable to quite a bit of the game's content. But it was enjoyable. I was even ignoring the quite bad engrish, at times. Which HAS been a deal breaker for me in other games. But it was when I realized the 'music vids' you watch when watching tv were clips of Kpop vids done to animation was when I really was hooked. I recognized the choreography for Black Pink's How You Like That. So I finally turned on the music to see if they were actually song clips. Made my day. Quite a few of my fave groups are in there. A treat for Kpop fans, so turn your music on if you're like me and usually mute music.

awesome game, if you are into harem, repeating knocking up the girls in your harem, finding new girls and trying to knock them up also. there are some sketchy stuff you had to do to get the girls but there are also safe route too.

Ok, first i have to say i really don't like sandbox games which is why i almost didn't play this one. Boy am i glad i gave it a try, i can honestly say i enjoy it with this game. There's nothing about it that is earth shatteringly new but i really like the way the job aspect of this game works, the way it's put together just seems to be more enjoyable and flows rather well compared to most other sandbox games. Renders are not blow your mind amazing but are pretty good, sex scenes are the same and the writing is decent as well. A bit of drama, humor and the like keeps me coming back for more. One of only 2 or 3 sandbox games that i would be comfortable recommending. An all around fun game, well done to the Dev. Looking forward to more.

Review for update [v0.10.0] Wow Wow Wow what a complete 180! I really appreciate the DEV giving us the option of going the kinetic route with the linear path in the new update or trying the open world/open choice concerning the decisions you want the MC to do option wise. The graphics have greatly improved as well as character and story progression! Great new choices as well as some interesting options in future updates from how this one left off.

For all tense purposes before this update the game play was very repetitive and dull you did the same thing everyday. Wake up. Choose to take a shower or skip it, then go to work where you'd see the MC typing on a computer until you went home and decided which of your booty calls you would call (praying one of them would answer so you get new scenes/content). If not you just did the same thing on repeat until you would get a new scene. There was no instructions on what to do or where to go to begin a new scene, so it made it super frustrating or annoying. This new update feels like almost a completely new game!

Some parts are a bit unnecessarily annoying though I would recommend the DEV removing the whole (get dressed normally or professionally) that pops up every single time you wake up in the morning. Because if i want to check my computer I would have to skip through that and after a while it gets a bit repetitive like those incessant unskippable ads on Youtube. I also noticed a potential bug. I unlocked the VIP in the Strip Club via the dark app or whatever it's called yet each time I went to the Strip Club it was still just the regular 100 dollar basic entry and the same dancers.

There was no 300 dollar entry or anything so what's the point of including that unlock I would highly recommend just implementing that new VIP in the club once that portion of the game is completed/ready. However, all those things i mentioned earliar are just pet peeves I really like the actual implementation of instructions actually telling you where to go or what to do in order to progress in content. Made it much more enjoyable I would highly recommend this game good job dev! 5/5 Stars due to great improvement and listening to feedback.

Yes, this is a simple game...you basically go through life as a 19 year-old. That really isn't the problem.

The problem is that there's no real conflict to move the story along. Of course, you can knock girls up but outside of that, there's no real conflict...and that makes for a dull story.

The female character NPCs are fairly well-defined as they have different personalities...but it doesn't make up for the shortcomings in the story.

The graphics are average or slightly better than average. The resolution is 4:3. The dialogue is also pretty boring.

Nothing great, nothing horribly bad. Just meh.

v0.9.3 finished all content (both modes).
First of all: 4:3 aspect ratio, c'mon man, what year is this, 2003? Despite this, hot girls, most of which you can knock up.

Weird shift from visual novel to sandbox in the middle of the game. Selecting visual novel mode still keeps some sandbox aspects. I tried both modes and preferred the normal sandbox despite hating sandbox because this VN mode here felt off.

Story is pretty typical, young dude gets offered a job and from there gets rich and adds chicks to his harem. I found the harem aspect a bit too unbelievable, in my playthrough I dated everyone, lied&cheated, and then when sidechick C meets sidechick F, etc they are best friends and happy to be MCs harem sluts, which just felt unrealistic, because it happens like that with everyone. Jealousy doesn't seem to exist, which might be easier to navigate but makes characters far less believable. Writing was fine, bit immature but passable.

Overall, wasn't bored though. This is either a strong 3 or a weak 4 from me.
