It's not censorship, it's for protection of minors; that law has been in effect for years in Germany; it's only now caught up to Steam.

"for the protection of minors" is the law's purpose and/or justification. Whether it constitutes censorship is a separate matter.

Yeah, lawgivers are pretty insistent on staying on the highest of horses in Germany. Given their history though it's not a massive surprise their culture has developed to breed massive amounts of shame-driven, virtue-signaling behavior.
