Overview:
Sinner Solace is an NSFW sandbox dating sim visual novel prototype where you can choose the appearance of your love interests. All characters are referred to with they/them pronouns. Currently it has a prototype of upto Day 2 with roughly 8000 words.

NSFW options are marked. At the current stage, they are intertwined with the plot and story progression.

Good question! The art was affected by the time limit for the game jam and the tools I was using. Here is a comparison of Kai drawn in different software and graphics tablets. I might experiment with it more and fix things but I’d say the bottom one is closer to what the final lineart will look like.

What tool(s) are you using for your drawings?

I haven't explored much of it yet but from watching tutorials, I like Krita. Although I might buy a drawing tablet at some point because I prefer feeling like I'm drawing with a pencil as opposed to using a mouse.

I have no clue how people draw with a mouse. Personally, I hated Krita because of the lack of decent lasso and fill tools. The default brushes were also quite lacking. If you are looking for free software, I started out in MediBang. But if it’s free, why not test it out? Before buying a graphics tablet you might want to test a friends out and make sure you are happy with the pen shape etc. Currently using ClipStudio. After drawing on mobile, anything on your pc makes a huge difference in speed and random gimmicks you had to deal with. Mobile is great but not for text and comics, screen size has a huge impact on speed and line quality too. (This question has many answers depending on who you ask and people’s preferences)
Oh and people complaining about certain xp pen’s tablet pen wobble are serious. It’s bad but only for thin and small lines that are drawn slowly. I’ve never seen anything like this before.

A little based on Degrees of Lewdity? Nothing against it, but based on the overview alone, Quinn gives some Whitney vibes and Kai remembers me a lot of my lovely Kylar (both characters that are among the first and main ones of the game, with also the presence of character that appeals to vanilla).
If that's the case, just saying: for what I heard, coding 2~3 pronouns is not the hardest thing in the word (not the case of more than that, since gendered words usually don't have variations/alternatives for way too much genders).
Anyway, what's the intended scope of this "you can choose the appearance"? One of the things that I like the most of DoL is that I can not only choose the gender and sex of people but also all their sizes and even things that I don't care much but if I can choose I do have a preference (like skin color), so I don't have the usual problem of finding a rare yandere "anything" (and also other themes, like "shy girl") but I can't fully enjoy it because the girl has breasts too big for my taste, or worse, the girl is a loli. But one of the things that makes it very easy for DoL to do it is the fact that it's text only, and even if it wasn't, the game has character creation, which could be used for the NPCs; some people find it more work, but in truth, in certain projects, for example, you drawn 3 head and 3 body, and you can make 9 distinct characters, and a single head more increase it to 12, another body goes up to 16, and if you separate upper and lower body it's 32, and in cases like DoL, I'm not gonna spend my time doing the math 'cause the colors alone makes it practically impossible (what I'm saying is, it's math, and it serves some projects). But I don't think it's the case here, since not only the previews only shows gender choice, but the game is also "somewhat traditionally" drawn, and it has the regular entirely drawn scenes, which makes this thing of "too much character customization" pretty harder to work with.
Also, will some fetishes be avoidable? For example, I'm ok (and I search for) with many things "yanderey", but outdoor sex is not to my taste, just like many people may search for the vanilla of Grey but will want to do anything to avoid hand holding (yeah, I tried to be funny here).

You’re right, it’s dol inspired but I think it strays quite a lot from dol and text based games because it’s quite scripted.
While implementing pronouns isn’t really hard. I rather not focus on them for now. I’ll consider having it as something to be tweaked after a release instead of something that comes with the release because it does add another thing you need to think about, write and implement logically.
There are written in f and m versions for the Quinn scene but they’re not something the player can access yet.
The title of the event is displayed so you can know which events have what content. For all nsfw events you have the nsfw choice option or a refuse option.
The art side is weirdly exhausting and complicated. I don’t think much character customization can be done but I did want the genitalia options to be possible for both m and f versions of the characters. (It can’t be that hard right?
Cameron (who you play as) has been drawn sometimes but does not have a physical appearance in the game yet.
I can make it so you can customize more (the name, pronouns, e.g.) but that’s something that would require more thinking and planning. I want to come up with a solution that balances everything.
Also Kai’s scene is not outdoors exactly? It’s in a university club room, I’m a dumbass who forgot the what it’s called. (Please help, I lost too many braincells putting this together already.)
TLDR; I wanna get the game done or at least progressed enough. If I end up drawing a cg this would be ridiculous (Mf, mm, fm, ff, fpfp, mvfp e.g.) unless I keep it text based and just show the sprite or pov view? But that would defeat the point.
Oh yeah. Hand holding is obligatory you can’t choose to not do that unholy act.
I’m more of a Robin my beloved type of person. (You can’t tell by the games content though lol)

Ended up going to itch and downloading the previous version, the 0.4 or w/e
I noticed the tags, and in your post, you said there is a spanking scene. However, what I witnessed at the game room was not a spanking scene.
I think you have the word "spanking" confused with clit slapping. Even the definition of "Spanking" doesn't even mention someones clit.
So im kinda confused. This is just a VN made in RPGMaker for some reason? Few choices, no player movement or freedom at all. Kinda strange its classified as a sandbox.
Also attempting to save your game while your characters body is on screen causes the game to lock up and get an error message. (Like in the hallway)
Unfortunately I lost all interest in this game. Way to many negatives.
