how many animations do you have guys? is there an animation limit for Ostim? i get CTDs on some scenes when exceeding 32k on pandora/nemesis, i've been trying to find a fix for days but no luck
There is no animation limit for Ostim, but there is a limit for the game itself. 32k aren't that much for pandora, I have 74k animations installed via pandora and everything works fine. Some problems start when I go beyond that 74k. There are several mods you can use in case you still didn't.

(the option AnimationLoadSignedCrash must be set to false in the EngineFixes.toml in order to make Engine Fixes work together with the patch)
(useful tool for tracking down CTDs, generates crash logs in Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE)

If you have SSE engine fixes, you increase Nemesis limit to 65535 animations total.

[Nemesis Install Location]/Nemesis Engine/nemesis.ini
MaxAnimation=New value

holy shit I've been using all those mods for almost a year now and I never knew you have to tweak it for compatibility. It is surprising to me I didn't encounter a crash from not switching it to false

So with like what 74k animations installed, I'm curious how many you actually EVER see in-game and if some get repeated more often than others - not because they are more popular but just some kinda weird RNG (ie why do I always see the SAME animation despite having 100 for this type of scene)

50k seems to be cap for me or even sometimes below that. Reducing the amount of animations completely removes the random CTD on most animations. Problem is when you are crashing playing random packs, you are likely reaching the behavior cap 65k which isnt directly tied to the amount of animations, which is likely why some people are able to go over what animation caps might be to us (50K). And pair animations specifically pad that number towards the cap significantly so the more paired animations the closer you to the cap. The crash btw is usually a result of animation not be loaded due to this cap. And lastly i do want to mention the cap is completely separate from how many actual animations you.

i have all of these and even changed OAR ini stuff to
uAnimationLimit = 65534
uHavokHeapSize = 1342177280, but no luck, the ctds started after updating ostim and some animation mods but reverting back to old version didn't fix it and strangely enough old ostim versions crashes on random scenes latest ostim crashes on spawned furniture scenes, crash logger always points to the animation that crashed for example

Name: "0_Master.hkb" -//- count: (7)
Name: "RootBehaviorGraph" -//- count: (4)
Name: "BillyyChairandBenchPack_Root" -//- count: (1)
Project Name: "DefaultMale" -//- count: (1)
Name: "Prisoner" -//- count: (10)
Name: "???" -//- count: (4)

You need to study CTD and understand what exactly breaks down. If it's OAR and Ostim, then json with

{
"replacementCondition": {
"!IsInCombat": true,
"HasMagicEffect": { "OStimScene": false }
}
}

in SKSE\Plugins\OpenAnimationReplacer may help

Just to make sure, try to completely disable OAR in your mod manager then check if Ostim\SL scenes works as they should.
I remember I had OAR related crashes when I tried to use OAR alongside 60k+ animations. Disabing OAR fixed that issue for me.
Also try using pandora in case you use nemesis. Create a folder for pandora output in your mod manager and link pandora app output to that folder instead of overwrite folder. You should also look for any old behavior files in your overwrite folder and delete them if there are any.

ok but how i'm i reaching the cap?? i don't have any huge packs or creatures or anything crazy most of my animation are the standard simple 2p 3p packs from nexus and MCO, can you think of any mods that add a ton of behaviors that i might've forgotten about?

Try removing all behavior files from your overwrite folder then run pandora\nemesis again to generate new ones. Sometimes CTD happens cuz of wrecked behavior files.
did that too, removed nemesis and it's stuff completely and downloaded pandora fresh just for this but nothing changed

Install FNIS and generate behavior files. The log right inside the program should tell you exactly how many animations each mod has.

Then, re-run generation in Pandora. Pandora is an excellent software, however, unlike FNIS, it just doesn't tell you which mods have the most animations.

Try standing on one leg and hopping, whilst reciting "nemesis" three times and patting the top of your head.
Then restart your computer.
That usually works for me.

It depends on what you're using to trigger them, with SL you can get specific with tags as much as the SLAL authors allow you to, or with .json file editing if you're willing to maintain that (I did so I could get some custom sfx and tags). For example in Defeat you can filter tags per scene type and that works nicely to keep things varied without much intervention from your end

As i said before paired animations drive the behavior number up significantly especially 3 person animations, this is just how the game works and OAR is simply the backbone. If want to play without crashing you need to remove packs and rerun behaviors.

Did anyone get the bow freezing bug while using the Eagle Eye perk? its one of the nasty and rare bugs caused as side effect of overdose of animations and/or paralysis enchanted weapon.
I remember one get it and my only rescue was to revert to an old save before it happen.

Update.
I see I'm not the only person that experienced it.

Its always a good idea to adopt a system of manual saves like this in your game
