Of course they can crash. If they have shitty XML configs for smp, if they have wrong compression format in textures, if they have some bad shader flags in the meshes, they can crash when you wear them.

It's easier to just delete those that crash when you wear them. Otherwise you need to read and study about tutorials of how to create armors from scratch in Skyrim to know all the correct formats and how to set them properly.

Why did this thread suddenly turn into a thread about decrypting chinese clothing mods?

Tested one of them and yeah the shoes/hair work but the dress mesh exploded in all directions and crashed, I have no idea why only the dress if the decrpytion was bad I would have the .bsa would corrupt completely
Good question, I first said I made the decryptor ~6 months ago and I guess no one really noticed, now im sitting here wondering how my server has uploaded 25TB of Chinese outfit mods in only 9 days
I did notice it kinda took over the thread recently, I blame Chinese mod authors for using DRM to start with if they didn't none of this would have happened!

Even though I had the activation key, I still cracked it because I didn't want these mods to become unusable after I switched computers. The activation key is tied to the motherboard; without cracking it, even though I bought it, I wouldn't have permanent usage rights.

When I got home that evening, I tested it. I had the files from before the crack, so I wanted to see if the crack was the cause. My game version was 1.5.97, and it worked fine before the crack. However, I don't know if it will work on other game versions.

Must be an odd one, it sounds like bone problems which can be fixed in outfit studio, or maybe the xml wasn’t done correctly. I’ve tested loads of the mods out and everything seems to be fine so far except QH mods are very heavy on my 5080 and shut down any followers physics. Never had this happen before so I’m going to take a look at the meshes and xml files. I’ll look at that dress too if I can find it and see what could be wrong. Just testing everything I can until the newest goods are decrypted and hopefully we have esps from the missing ones. If not I can construct one by checking the parts in nifskope to correctly get them set up then I’ll share.
Because Chinese clothing mod creators like to use DRM encryption, they think they can scam $40 from someone with just a few photos. In contrast, many Chinese animation creators look down on doing such worthless work like encryption.

Sorry to hear you’re getting shit for it, I’d keep that email and get the law involved if it gets worse. I’ve had threats too for sharing stuff but nothing came out of it. The creators of those mods are breaking the law anyway making money off content from other games, so I’d remind them of this. If you still want to share files it is best to do it privately through message so the creators don’t see the original files, that way nobody will suspect anything.
The authors of "Afdian" articles are unlikely to find this place. They don't even bother to pay attention to places outside of China, and it sounds ridiculous and unrealistic for them, who are based in China, to issue "warnings" to others, whether inside or outside of China, if you understand Chinese law. Only Patreon authors would, and I think you should know that the links you posted, besides "Afdian," almost exclusively contain one Patreon author.

They have known about arca.live so I don't think they wouldn't know about f95zone.
most of these files are sent in qq, i guess. When you have a qq number, it's simply quite easy to identify someone. (Yes it's illegal but ...anyway they won't care)
