Overview:
SlideStroker is a slideshow game where you stroke based on the number shown on each image (AI CG) before moving to the next.
If you are unable to finish in time, Edge Mode activates to keep you edging and going longer.
You can customize the game with your own images, sounds, and dialogues.

For a second I thought the game was literally in the gallery and you played it right here on the forum. ;)) Ahhh babby's first button clicker. I'm back on Newgrounds.

It's nice to see more stroker games- but this is lacking several elements.

-Difficulty control baked into the engine. This one's probably not that hard to program- just a few number boxes that alter those values- within reason. Number of possible strokes per page could be a lot higher, for example, as-is you don't wind up with more than seven or eight and plenty of time to do them unless you deliberately waited and edged the previous slide. Sometimes one or two, which is just entirely a waste.

-Maximized interface with Dark Mode. Window way too small, neutral background is... okay, but not great.

-More instructions in the game. Took me a minute to figure out I was supposed to edge as long as the screen was purple and it's still not clear whether I was supposed to stick to that picture. Controls besides orgasm should probably lock when edging... and penalize you if you do.

-Some instructions on how to create your own versions. It's a bit obscure how you need to change the .json files to have a custom pack actually work. Haven't messed with it myself yet, but I suspect there are a lot of pitfalls waiting there if I do try.

How do you make a custom image set work?

I'm not sure, that's why I was asking. You'd have to add the folder with the images with the others, and edit config.json as well as probably libraries.json, but I'm not sure what all you need to add.

EDIT: Alright, I THINK I've figured it out... and it takes a while, so I'm not trying to do it all right now.

First, you have to add the folder with images, then edit it into the libraries.json.

THEN, you have to copy images.json from one of the existing folders into your new folder... and change every single filename in that file into one of the files you want to use.

...I can't help but think there's probably an easier way to program this, and I'm not trying to do it like this. Godspeed, gamedev.

Hm, actually... I'm not sure if this would interfere with each-other, but wouldn't it be easier to name the files with numbers? 1, 2, 3, etc. assuming it only detects the files in its own folder? When editing in a new set, you'd just have to change the filenames themselves and edit the file types in the images.json file to match up. Alternately, something like A1, A2, A3 for one folder and B1, B2, B3 etc. for the second folder?

There are a few ways to make it easier, but I'm not sure which one is viable in Godot.

Thanks for the feedback.

It seems like a lot of things still need to be worked out. For now, I have uploaded a PDF tutorial on how to edit the config.json file. I've updated the thread.

As for how to make a custom image set work, give me a day or two.
