Alright I played Slimy Sextet [v1.0.8] by Belgerum.
I ended up giving this 2 stars because it feels more like an unmarked kinetic novel than an actual game. The reason it earned 2 stars instead of 1 is that the entire story is voice-acted, which is quite impressive, and the premise is intriguing. However, it's essentially a voice-acted book where you're clicking through to progress the dialogue. If you enjoy great art and a compelling story, this "game" might be for you. That said, I do appreciate the effort put into fully voicing the narrative.
The story itself is interesting, and it hooked me right away. It has good pacing and avoids unnecessary fluff, jumping straight to the point: Quinn must pay her debt. If I were rating the story alone, this would easily be a 5-star review.
But I’m not just reviewing the story—I’m reviewing it as a game, and I must rate it as such. For me, agency is the most important aspect of a game. I want to influence how my character acts and how their decisions impact the world and the relationships around them. Unfortunately, in this game, you only make two choices: your character’s gender and the ending. Everything else is just watching characters talk to each other without any input from you.
