HTML Sluttown USA: Hometown Corruption [v0.35] [AmusingOddity]

Hit F12 and your browser will pop up a Javascript console window to the right of the VN. I'm going to paste this screenshot of my chromium with the javascript console open. Note that I've already done the things that I will talk about next.

The first thing I did was type "Sugarcube.State.variables.charge" at the ">" prompt in that window and hit enter. That returns a 0 which is the current charge on the phone as you can see in the content window as "Charge: 0". Note that as you type, the console will automatically populate a popdown list with possible completions. So after typing only "Sugar" I can just hit the right arrow key and it will fill that out as "SugarCube". Then I typed ".State.var" and that was enough to let me hit the right arrow key again to have it fill out "variables". So you don't have to type all this everytime and worry about it being incorrect.

I hit the "up arrow" key to recall all of that and just typed "=40" to set it to 40. Note that the content window on the left is in suspended animation while the console is open. So that "Charge: 0" won't change to "Charge: 40" until after I close the console window by clicking the "x" gadget in its upper right and then click something to go into the next passage.

I did "up arrow" again and then used backspace to erase the ".charge". This showed all of the variables in effect for the VN but as a "closed two line tree between "{" and "}" with a small ellipses "..." at the very right. To open it up as the full scrollable list I clicked on that "..." and we see the first page full of variables and values. I can now use "up arrow" and then type out individual variable names to peek and then use "=" with a new value to poke.

Congratulations. You now know how to hack 95% of Twine games since just about everybody uses SugarCube format and don't know how to change where the variable storage is hidden.

I'll be extending out India's private arc next time she comes up in the monthly vote - at the moment it looks like Karlee is winning the poll for this month.

Can't wait to see future content, is the Karlee update going to have content across public and private route? Or just focusing on one?

One thing that I'd think would be neat would be to add bimbofication transformation (can either be like send her to a clinic for surgery or say mind control from the app somehow can change people physically). As in you take a girl who's petite and then have an option to transform her. And I see two ways to do it, you could do it with one pornstar using before and after their surgery pics and vids (like Elsa Jean or Megan Rain) to show the change or you could use a girl and then replace her with a pornstar she kinda looks like but more bimbo (like Veruca James into Aletta Ocean or Dakota Skye into Summer Brielle or Piper Perri into Nicollette Shea or Jayme Langford into Skyla Novea). Just an idea.

Yeah, i know that is going to bother some people. I can see why, but i felt the game needed at least one instance of MC getting bitten in the ass by the app so he learns to be careful . Don't worry though, i have plans for Eric .

Not yet. That arch has 2 characters intertwined so its going to be one of the slower ones to make progress in. It will get there though.



Something crazy is happening with the version that you have. There should be a map image and the images for Karlee's room and India's room are the ones from the last version. Is anyone else having this problem?

I've reloaded the Image files and all the images appear correctly now. There must have been some corruption when replacing the older images with the new ones.

I do have a discord but its only open to subscribers. I want to give more access to people that are supporting the game ya know.

The way I'm planning to update characters is to fill out routes one at a time. So the next Karlee update will continue her private arc. I think i will need at least one more update for her private arc after that to finish it. After that if she comes up again I'll start on her public arc.

I think this approach will be better cause it'll make the game feel more "complete" faster than if i spread updates around.

Way ahead of you bud. I have outlines for like 6 characters in the bimbo fetish. Also if you go through India's public arc you will see a kind of "arc flavoring" that I'm calling Macro arcs. Basically its the same arc as her normal public route but with a bimbo flavor.

I think that generally I'm going to go with the performer swap option. That way i have an entire catalog of content from 2 girls to work with. That will give me more options on the kinds of scenes i can use to tell her story.

If you read the "gameplan" passage on the first page of the game i go into more detail on how I'm going to build the game out over time.

Yep. Elliot is going to go sissy in his current arc but i have plans for him to have a trans arc as well.

I also have outlines for at least 4 other trans arcs before the game is done, and I'm sure I'll think up more before I'm finished.

I burned through just about everything i could find of Ella Hollywood making my first game. When i make sissy characters I'll have no real choice but to use images of lots of different people cause no one performer has enough relevant content.

If i can I'd like to find some T-Girls with enough content for a public and private arch. Ideally including DP/Group scenes, stuff like that. Tough to find anyone that fits the bill. I'll fudge it if it comes to that, but I'd prefer not to as much as possible.

I think I've finished off most people now, as per the tips. Just a couple questions. Did they remove the 'coding' mini game? I was able to do it once but after that it just passes me through, tells me I got zero out of five, and I don't get any benefits from it.?. I only had the chance to actually enter the text once but since then nothing.

I pretty much just watch vanilla, solo or pov, so I can't help you there. If you just look up trans pornstars on like pornhub though, there are tons on known names with a fair variety.

I changed some stuff in the coding mini game in the background that broke some stuff for .2 but it should be fixed in the .2.1 patch.

I'm working 12's till wednesday, if its broken I'll look into it then.

Funny you should mention the hacker. I've been thinking about her a lot lately. At the momnet she only apears once and you unlock the ability to exchange money for charge at night from the computer. With this next update Karlee is going to need a lot of chagre to finish her arc. I've been thinking that i need to speed up my time table on adding things to mitigate getting charge faster.

I don't think it will be the next update cause i want time to think it out but i will be doing more with her soon. I think i might do something like as you progress with her she can generate charge passively.

I thought saves from .1 would just work on .2 but obviously i boloxed something up somewhere. I'll look into this more on my next day off. In the meantime here is a save that sets you at the start of Karlee's new content and has Gia unlocked.

Something to the effect that I had tried the coding mini-game a couple times then went to build up my charge... At any rate... I sat there and built up a charge of ~250 before I got bored and moved on, but the time never progressed on me. It was awesome, lol.

I just guessed it had something to do w the fact that I was trying to play w the coding mini-game then as well. Tried it ~ 3 or 4 times, then switched over to the Charging mini-game.

The charging minigame is kinda annoying (also impossible for color blind people), but whats really bad is having to click "continue" between each step. You can't even do it quickly just on the keyboard because you have to use the mouse between each step to advance. Just go to the next one. Make it as fast as possible. Also the coding minigame outright does not work; no matter how fast you type you fail. At least make them fast and functional with minimal slowdowns and no extra clicking (and especially not needing both fast typing and mouse use at once, as that will often fail just on trying to move over to the mouse fast enough).

Overall the game is just annoying and unfun right now. The whole "charging" thing is just a huge timesink (and the programming is just to increase the charging rate); you literally spend days of game time doing nothing but hitting charge or practice programming over and over. It's the same thing I have said about several other games: arbitrary 'counter advancing' as a gameplay mechanic doesn't feel good, it feels like 'why do I have to click this so much, just give me the next thing' and that's bad. We are here for content, not clicking a text menu 50 times to 'earn' the next step

So, besides Not having these mini-games,
how would you all tweak the existing ones? I mean if these charging games are going to stay, what would you change? My only thing would be to change the colors....I am sort of having probs telling some of them apart like yellow and orange...
And while that isn't a solution, atm I don't have a suggestion.

On the coding one, I'm a fast typist but I wish it wasn't case sensitive.
