Is this a text-only game or are there any gifs/videos?
Edit: Ok, 23 mb, so text only.
A pity.

I'd like to point out that maybe it's not the best idea to name a game for another word meaning infection lol

It's fine. Just felt weird downloading a file called std

pretty much. i do plan to have more art/images but no videos, gifs or animated scenes.
I'm personally good with the game as it is, as the writing helps my imagination with the important bits (scene and people involved). If there is art, please consider that it should match the game world locations and in-game characters. Nothing irritates me more than reading a very cool, well written scene and then videos start cropping up that don't match where they are, or the people at all. Played one game that was supposed to be a medieval setting, but the videos were clearly clipped from porn set in the 2000s.... completely broke the game for me..

It could just be me that feels that way, so feel free to take it with a grain of salt. :coffee:;)

Absolutely with you on that. I do think there’s a sweet spot between visuals and text that can enhance the experience without getting in the way of the imagination. But I’m in no rush to find it so you can relax haha. I'd much rather work on my writing for now.

and thank you!

This is well written enough that it becomes immersive. Which acts as a detriment, because, as a guy, being THAT immersed into the life of a young, innocent, naive girl, is making me feel pretty uncomfortable. Reading about "me" casting glances at men (or women), pining after my ex and generally acting feminine, feels creepy, wrong. And I don't know any guys who'd feel otherwise.
I suppose, men are not the target audience here.

It's too girly.

Is this it, the holy grail for those girls who just wanna have fun? The mythical porno game actually aimed at women?

That's a very bold statement to state that all men would not be interested in this game. Perhaps, you'll allow me to fix your absolute statement to a more accurate one. Bold/underline/italics added to show what I corrected: I suppose, I am not the target audience here.

I'm not sure I understand the complaints about seeing the game through a female's eyes. You know the game is tagged as 'Female Protagonist' right? That means the main character is a female, and good writing will show the world through the main character's eyes.

I mean...we're strangers on the internet. You can claim to be anything on here. Including a man.
I meant all men because it's most men. A negligible minority is just that. Negligible.
I'd be inclined to allow your correction, if you could prove that you have a more extensive knowledge of men than I do.
Jokes aside, I did boil it down for everyone at the end. "It's too girly". Because it's well written. With all the angst and touchy-feely "crap" a man reasonably expects to blow through a young woman's ears. There are plenty of female protagonists out there that don't put as much emphasis on the emotional side of life. So they're an easier read.
MOST men play a female protagonist not to experience her life, but to control/corrupt her life, because it's more pleasant to watch or has that much more content with the female form, in all its splendor. Like why men pick female protagonists in non-adult themed games with a character creator.

All I said is that "all" is an incorrect word to use, as it is an absolute word. I don't have any information to say if "all" or "most" men won't like the game and only a negligible number of men will like it, because I just don't know. I can only tell you conclusively that I enjoy the game as it is. All you can conclusively say is that you do not like the game as it is.

Hello sicklycynic,

I just played the latest update and I like it. There are a few typos. There may be others, but I didn't write them all down, as they are so few of them, which is really great. Warning, english is not my first langage, so I might be wrong with the typos.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Also, I am wondering why:
- you sometimes add text at the end of the current passage instead of creating a new passage? A really prefer to see the new text in a new passage. Each time you add text at the end, I don't get it and start reading again at the top. This is really confusing.

- how do you choose the words that are used for the link to the next passage? Is there some meaning in this choice? Why not always some of the last words of the passage?

Great job!

I appreciate the compliments. I won’t please everyone and that’s okay. What I enjoy most about female protagonist/corruption games is the mental gymnastics and inner conflict the protagonist goes through. And with text-based games you have the luxury of leaning into that more —for example, female agent.

I also want to keep the corruption element grounded and avoid falling so much into porn-logic. I think GGGB nails this by keeping things character-driven, and I wish to do the same here. I draw inspiration from both of those games, they’re some of my favorites.

And I like the “touchy-feely crap.”
