Man and his S.O. (wife, girlfriend?) are wealthy/generous people who help others. They get into a car accident, the S.O. doesn't make it. And the people they helped over the years goes back to support the MC. Some other details are that: they live away from the others, on a hill, I think? The MC has an artistic job, writer?
