Others [Solved] JoiPlay overwriting multi-part titles

Title doesn't really explain it so I'll try to explain it.

This is happening with a few titles. Right now for me, it's Crossing Borders, Time Tenshi Paradox and My Neighbor Is A Tsundere.

Using CB as an example:

I will add CB Part 1 to JoiPlay. I will then launch it to confirm it's working. When I then attempt to add CB Part 2, it will overwrite the existing CB Part 1 in the library. Launching it does, indeed, launch Part 2. So, I am unable to have both parts in JoiPlay at the same time.

I have tried using vastly different folder and executable names like Crossing Borders 1 and CB2 but it still detects both parts as the same thing. Has anyone figured out how to bypass this behavior?

Maybe I misunderstood but, for me, there is no problem. If your game is in several parts (in several games) but each part has the same name, change the name.

Let's take CB as an example:
- Put the 1st CB game in a folder named "CB part1".
- Run your ".exe" or ".sh" and, when asked, choose to open it with JoiPlay.
- JoiPlay opens, offering you "Crossing Borders" as default title. Click on it and write "Crossing Borders (part. 1)" or "CB (part. 1)" instead.
- If needed, finish filling in the other fields and click on "ADD" to add the game to JoiPlay.

- Put the 2nd CB game in a folder named "CB part2".
- Run your ".exe" or ".sh" and choose to open it with JoiPlay.
- Name your game "Crossing Borders (part. 2)" or "CB (part. 2)".

P.s.: If there is a follow-up of the saves from one game to another, it may be necessary to copy some files from the "save" folder of the 1st game to the 2nd. See with the game creator if needed.

I can't run the .exe, .sh or .py in Android 12. I'm not able select an app to open it with like in previous versions of Android.

So I have to add it manually via the JoiPlay interface.

Image 5 showing E2 shortcut isn't added while E1 shortcut remains. Edit: Image thumbnail doesn't matter. It replaces the previous shortcut, regardless of which you choose, if you choose one.

You could throw JoiPlay a buck on so you can send them a message and tell them of the problem.

Alright, I figured out what was happening.

JoiPlay has pre-existing titles in the drop down box while adding a new game. The games that are split into mutiple parts share that title, which makes JoiPlay think it's the same one. So, I just selected a random title and added it to JoiPlay, then I renamed the shortcut to what it should have been.

Yes, I have the same Android as you and the Samsung explorer is quite limited, I use X-plore instead.

Nice trick to fool JoiPlay, that's very clever. (y)
