[Solved] Need help with Cathy hair

that is the asset. so i am trying to apply this hair to a gen 8 female. as u can see there is this cap that shows on the forhead. i have tried using some of the dials to get rid of it but it messes up the hair on the head making it sometimes go to far in or back on the head. just wanted to know if someone knew a way to get this to work correctly on gen 8 female? thanks

Did you apply the hair base material first before picking the color?
How are you fitting the hair on the G8 figure?

a. load the G8 figure
b. make sure the figure is not selected
c. load the Cathy hair
d. change the hair's scene identification compatibility from Genesis 3 Female to Genesis 8 Female
e. fit the hair on your G8 character
f. select the hair and apply the hair base material
g. select the hair color you want

The steps watdapakisdis outlined should help a lot - part of what you ran into might have been changes that "autofit" made to the hair when fitting the G3 hair to the G8 female.

The other thing you can do, if necessary:

1. Select the Cathy Hair in the Scene tab
2. Open the Surfaces tab
3. Expand "Cathy Hair"
4. Click on the "Cap" surface
5. Change the "Opacity Strength" (which should be set to 100%) to 0%.

That will make the skull cap portion of the hair transparent. Be aware that this can have unwanted side effects, however - the caps are frequently colored so that you don't see pale scalp through the transparent parts of the hair. I've run into situations, however, where the skull cap is way too glossy, and had to adjust it so that light wasn't reflecting off it through the hair.

thanks both of u for the help. watdapakisdis it took me a few to figure out the scene identification but i got it. then the apply base through me off as i was thinking that u clicked the color not the thing that actually says apply first. but i got it working just fine
