Don't think it is especially Unity. More that it is not Renpy. Which has few advantages like saving the game is nearly always possible or for me that I can use a mod from her that makes me find variables for gold or similiar or another mod for changing the size of the fonts or remove the darker or colored area to see the whole screen without pressing 'h'... And UnRen.

All these stuff I do not have for unity. Maybe it exist... I think Unity is a pretty good engine. And I have not much issues playing games with it. Especially with Something Unlimited I had not much reasons to wish another engine.

RenPy is only better if you're a complete amateur who can't write code or refuses to do so. The stuff you list you honestly shouldn't even need a "mod" for in Renpy, and you definitely don't need one to do any of that in Unity.

What's funny is that SR7 has been quite vocal about how Fungus, i.e. Renpy for Unity, has been used for SU and how many issues it has caused. They're in the process of creating a non-Fungus rebuild of SU and from their latest video it looks like GG finally got an actual programmer to put the engine to proper use for the game.

there is so much that needs to happen before new heroes or villainesses are added to the game , let the developers finish the supergirl/galatea/stargirl update next , then i'm hoping the updates that follow are ( in no order but done ) hawkgirl huntress black canary and zatanna(in Tala's room if not cell) getting cells in the update , then starfire , blackfire , raven & terra in another , then wonder woman , superwoman , lois lane ( as we have seen the picture of lois and WW on a desk ) & audrey in another , the harley quinn , pison ivy , catwoman and batgirl in another , then we have the whole robotics feature that hasnt even opened yet . i have fingers croosed that all updates i mentioned will happen by christmas 2020

As someone who's done Unity dev before, Unity is a great engine if you know what you're doing. It's a little better for 3D games, but really you can do just about anything with it, so it has potential to be much better or much worse, depending on your skill at using the engine, and your software programming and architecture abilities.

Admittedly, most of my Unity experience is with third-person action 3D games, not VN type games, but you definitely should be able to make a game like this work just fine with Unity itself.

The problem is, that there are not many characters in the DCU who could do this. Who have the same connections and intelligence. A completely unknown character would be a little akward and miss the already existing backround and history with the other characters.

Many dialogs would make no be the same if it is not LL. Especially between LL and LL. Or LL's wonderful bodyguard would not fit in the story. (I'M STILL MISSING THE OTHER BEAUTIFULL BODYGUARD...)

Change his face and name and everyone who knows the DCU would ask, why is it not LL? Everthing what happens screams it should be LL.
