I now also follow you on Patreon. i hope a new versio n comes out that mounth.for folks already on patreon:
You must be registered to see the links
- redid some things with the code - need to get to a point where it's settled but I'm trying to make sure it doesn't cause any issues.
- working on a masturbation scene atm (work has me bogged down and I'm not getting much done tbh). Hopefully it will slow down at work and I can get back to cranking them out.
- Reduced the areas and actions of Sarah (don't need a lot of them they're just dead ends BUT this still means I can add things later with ease).
- ready for a beer
You can add the subscribestar logo there- working on a masturbation scene atm
All good. I sent them a generic one with no frills and they published the page. You can add the subscribestar logo there
It definitely needs compression instead of PNG use "webg" for images, I think I spelled it wrong but you will get the idea.- Game is at 3.91 GBs
- Aunt MC intro complete (differs from female route, even at the end)
- Started another scene's renders
- Animations added
- odds and ends - code changes
This week was horrible. Did not get much done. Anyway, still aiming for May but time will tell.
120 frames animations? I hope you're not talking about frames-per-second, lol. After I release the next version, if there is a compressor who wants to compress the game, that'd be nice. I don't want to do it since I haven't before so I have no experience good enough to do it right. I also don't want to because it would/should lose image quality.
Anyway, I went back to the dreamscape scene and added 4-120 frame animations. I thought it needed these as an option or extra. It took a total of about 12+ hours to render these images. Game is at 5GBs now and I still need to do a few things more. Not sure if I'm in the right section here or not (lmao) but I hope you guys like animated watersports.
I understand your concerns, it's not easy to achieve a good balance between compression and loss of quality, but it is doable. Luckily there are good compressors here, hopefully they will manage to make a good job with your game as well.120 frames in one animation - they're at like 20-30 FPS when they run though. It is poor optimization because all the images are in PNG but it's not on purpose. A lot of them have to be in PNG for transparency (including animations). I think webp supports transparency but transparency doesn't work with JPG. They're mostly 1920x1080 images or higher (including animations). When I get to that point I'll check it out and in the meantime, see if I can do some optimizing myself. Again I don't want to lose image quality and I know there's some trickery to webp to get it to work and look fine, I just don't have experience doing it. The game runs fine for me - just have to wait for some animations to load in some scenes. The last I tried to optimize into webp it (some software I had) said it was going to lose image quality so I stopped playing with it. I had test images from that software and it said it only took a small chunk out of the image size so it didn't appear to be worth it at the time. My PCs are good machines but they're old. Hopefully this game won't be too bad on a player's PC.
Your amazing for doing all of this work already. There is no need to rush the product. I am sure we are all dying to play it but if your not ready to release it then it is better to have quality content than to have rushed content.I still haven't started testing. The last scene is running long. If I don't make the release date for tomorrow, I promise, it will be soon and well worth it. I was going to do something just naughty for the last scene but I'm ending up writing something I felt the game needed. I hope you guys can hang out for a few more days if I don't wrap it up tomorrow. I'm trying my damnedest to get it done.
