Bug report - If I choose to take a bounty mission located at a Nav Point which wasn't already displayed in the space map, as soon as the game attempts to display the map an uncaught exception occurs.

Works just fine with that version. Thanks for the quick reply. Not sure how I missed the v1.5a patch.
Totally understandable! I very much appreciate you taking the time to help with the betatesting!
(y)

I should edit the other post to prevent future confusion... doing so now!

Quick update.

So, while I await more feedback from the playtesters, I have a couple more changes in mind that I'm getting ready to tackle, which I'd like to include in the 'official v1.5 release' for this mod once I'm done tweaking things.

- That Arcade Manager screen change that I discussed earlier. I decided that I wanted a different background than the Analyzer background for the alternate screen, so I'm playing around with a few ideas in Daz Studio atm.

- Taking the 'random-ness' out of cube upgrades, and also allowing players with Gen 3 cortices to upgrade the grade, similar to what I did last time.

Anyways, I got distracted, and took a stab at a SJx hottie, 'cuz I miss messing around in Daz Studio...

I'll probably end up using her in my other project, but yeah I do need to get back to working on that alternate screen background for the Sexbot Arcade...

How are things looking so far in your playtesting so far guys? How do you feel about the changes I've made?

So yeah, something like this...

arcademanagerscreenmode2_ohwee.jpg

This is View Mode 2. View Mode 1 shows the 'regular' Arcade Manager view, which is similar to the Bot Manager view.

I rendered a new background using a Daz Studio asset, after messing with it a bit to make it feel a bit more 'space-ey'...

View Mode 1 or 2 will remain until you click the View Mode button or press 'm' or 'M' to toggle when viewing the Arcade Manager screen. So pick the mode you prefer, and it will remain in the selected mode, even when leaving this screen and coming back to it later, until you choose to toggle the modes again.

Now I need to add my code for the 'multi' bonuses, so that they actually do something at the end of the day, but figured y'all would appreciate the sneak peek in the meantime.

This will be in the v1.5b version of my mod, which should be ready fairly soon.

10 hours of playing, not a single issue so far. Started right from the beginning so I didn;t skip anything.
Only gripe I had was not even related to this mod, being:
Opening multiple bot crates one by one is exhausting. 3 clicks per box all in different places, (or one click and spacebar twice which is a bit easier) but would be nice to have an open all, or 1 click and done with a running parts total that stays displayed as you open them. Not sure how relevant this becomes as the game progresses and might be a moot point later on. but that's the experience I had.

But back to your mod, no issues, no problems, great job!

Note that shift+click will now open all crates of the chosen type (vanilla SJx, added recently), but of course if you want to keep a few crates, then you still have to do them one by one.

As for trying to eliminate a step/click or two when opening individual crates, that's something I'll take a look at later, once I wrap up what I'm working on now. Unless yv0751 has already addressed this for individual crates in his latest beta, which I have no access to.

I appreciate the feedback!

(RIP Andreas Katsulas, yeah it was a long time ago but Andreas was awesome as G'Kar!)

I don't have a save handy that is timed around T'ris doing the pet voucher thing, or Moira for that matter...

Put this file contained in the .7z below into the /game/700_minigames folder (i.e. replace 715_crew_manager.rpy with the attached one). Then load your save if you have one that is on the day when the issue occurs, and let me know if both messages (pet training and pick a shell) pop up.

I appreciate your playtesting efforts!

The author (JMS) once told that Katsulas and Peter Jurasik already bonded in the waiting room prior to the casting. He already knew then, G'Kar and Mollari. The rest is history.

Anyway, so far I only collected 3 shells. 2 are simple shells and the fix works so far on the simple shells, I can now choose again.
I presume it should work on the exotic shells as well. Will now look if I find some more shells to test it!

Thanks for the great mod.
I really like the arcade overview screen with the single bot detail data sheet!

So many great moments in B5!

One of my favorite quotes, which has been quite relevant lately:

Kosh: The avalanche has started. It's too late for the pebbles to vote.

JMS keeps pushing for a reboot, but yeah WB keeps changing their mind. It'd be all new actors this time though, and with how Hollywood works these days, I'm less optimistic about a reboot being decent/good.

Sometimes we still get magic in a bottle with films and tv series (I love Andor, very much looking forward to S2 in April), but yeah, it's a different dynamic in Hollywood/filmmaking these days, so it seems like a lot more disappointments these days.

Thanks for the great mod.

If the asset I used for the background interests you, it's this one:

I ended up hiding/deleting a bunch of the ceiling pipes using the geometry editor, and turned the ceiling into a glass roof so that the space HDRI with the planets (which you can barely make out at the top) would show through.

I'm sure you could come up with something more SJx appropriate though!

JMS made some statements that the reboot is coming. My impression is, he believes it (currently).
Reboots are regularly underwhelming or just disastrous. Since the mastermind is still on-board, there is some hope left.
A franchise may be bought, but the nostalgic factor can carry you only so far.

Update @ hotfix: stil works, now with 3 basic shells. Hoping to find some better shells soon, but everything looks fine so far, thx

One question: how are attitude cubes applied? I skipped the 2, 3 updates of the game and seem to have missed that and can't figure it out at the moment

Attitude/Traits/Personality cubes only work on Precursor Cortices. Once you've installed or upgraded to a Precursor Cortex (Gen 3 regular cortex + Elite AI core), you'll see a small square located at the upper left side of the cortex slot. Click on that to play around with the cubes.

I plan to look over the upgrade routines to keep an 'upward trend' with upgrades, I'm in that section of the code now working on bot valuation atm. I also plan to implement 'Grade' upgrades for level 3 cortices, one thing at a time.

Thanks for the feedback!

Another rabbit hole...

arcademanager_valuationrework_ohweemod.jpg

So, I'm not a fan of a bunch of back to back multipliers, so I spent the day playing around with the valuation formula for sexbots.

What I finally arrived at is four multiplier groups:
  • Uniformity
  • Intellect
  • Traits
  • Talents
The idea here being that modifiers within each of these four groups are added together, but that you then multiply the bot base value by the group total for each group , i.e.:

Base Price * Uniformity * Intellect * Traits * Talents

At the end of the day this just shifts values around a bit, but I was seeing some pretty insane values for Galbarella (Galaxina Shell) in my game, and wanted her value to be a bit closer to the other bots. She's still rare, so around 50k credits seems right to me, but the other bot valuations are a bit more reasonable.

I'm being pretty careful to not create new variables within the 'regular' SJx framework, in order to maintain save compatibility with vanilla SJx. Worst that will happen is that the bot values will change when they are run through the 'get sexbot value' routine in the 'vanilla' version.

Arcade income in the late game is pretty high IMHO. I can 'nerf' the base calculation to mitigate this a bit, but then you can just offset this by selling a bunch of high value bots, so yeah something to be cautious about.

Anyways, like I said, rabbit hole, I get obsessed with weird stuff. I wouldn't mind hearing y'alls feedback on this!

I still need to tackle a couple more things, then I should be ready to release the next version of my mod for SJx 1.50.15.

Back to it!
