I should post an update.
I did start to work on updating this mod, but due to a good chunk of the code constantly changing under the hood with each update, yeah...
Other stuff has me very distracted atm, so it's going to be a few months before I'm able to even consider doing an update for this mod. So consider this abandoned for now. I will add an abandoned tag to the OP.
The best bet for now is to convince yv0751 to incorporate more of the changes you like from this mod into vanilla SJx.

Especially since I fingured out a way to make saves compatible I will now re-label every distro and even minor version updates as I do not need to care to preserve the call labels.
Thats a modders nightmare (except for the pure screen code maybe). Also, I can imagine the subsystem refactoring was a massive impact. It took me two weeks to do it.
In any case, I have already incorporated quite a few suggestions into SJX and I'll add a few new QoL related ones every release.
