Ren'Py - Completed - Space Journey X [v2.30_023] [y.v.]

Play time: 2-3 days. First of all this game has lots of cut content. You can play it if you like scifi, space stuff, but other than that i wouldn't recommend it.

Girls - 3/5 . The models are alright. Their design is kinda cartoonish, but i liked them. They have diverse personalities but we see very little of it. Aside from learning about their backstory, there's nothing else to explore. When you speak with them, outside of story related stuff, they say the same 5 things all over and you reply with "alright" "i see".

MC - 2/5 . There's nothing else to say here really. Just a dude. No personality whatsoever. He just goes with the flow with whatever others say. At least he's not an asshole.

Sex scenes - 1/5 . First of all the animation in 90% of the scenes is bad (Just 3-4 repetitive images). There is almost no variety to them and each character has 3-4 scenes max.

Story - 3/5 . I liked the premise of the story. Some elements of the world building is also good. But it's too little. No exploration to those elements, and the worst is the cut content. I guess the developer had many things planned but didn't have time? Don't know. The final product though is disappointing.

Gameplay - 3/5 - Point and click gameplay. The fights are turned based. I saw some comments say that it is grindy. I don't agree. It's alright. Yes you need to go farm for some things, but that's all. You don't need to be constantly farming to play. Other than that, it's nothing special.

This game is weird. I am giving it 4 stars because there is a solid idea here with a lot of content. The craft on display is solid and holds together better than some of the top games on this site showing that at a technical level the dev has it in lock. However the thing is that it feels sort of feature crept and bloated with potential.

In many ways the game parts suffer because of the porn-tier writing, and the porn suffers because there is a competent game design loop trickling in the porn. The two don't actually work together most of the time. The closest they get is with the creation, training, and handling of the sex bots, but that itself is mostly a menu based manager with very little actual content outside of number grinding. The only other game that interacts with the porn-side of the porn game is the spanking/training but that feels really underbaked.

That is really the catch. This game would be a mediocre game without the porn, but the porn being attached to it doesn't really elevate the gameplay present. It just means that when reviewing it I am also reviewing the quality of the porn alongside the game. However since the two don't really work all that well together I can't give more than 4/5 stars. It's good, but it falls into the usual trap of adding gameplay elements as a grindgate to the tits out part. I feel a lot of devs do this where they conflate "game design" from bog standard games and think that porn games need that when really I'd prefer a lot of the superfluous half baked elements trimmed out and the elements that gamify the porn to take more center stage. Like, I think the idea is that you are supposed to play for the fantasy of a space fairing captain + sex sex sexy sex. But it is hard to suspend my disbelief for the straight man space fairing dynamo when my crew are a bunch of eye candy sluts on display and act very much as such. I dunno, it just feels a bit jarring to play some of the more droll resource trade routes, boring one note bounty hunts, and mining mini-games when the game really wants me living a porn-tier writing fantasy.

A solid technical foundation, good amount of content, but just all over the place in tone, pacing, and polish.

I just spent a day grinding money doing fetch quests and trading.
And, somehow, i'm happy.
So i guess this is the reason for 5 star review - game went so high off the rails on QoL features that you're just happy to play it. I mean, it took most traps from other games and just went over it.
Huge "house"(ship) that you have to navigate to interact with stuff - here's a interactive map with single-click movement and indications.
Traveling on global map takes always 1h hour, traveling inside locations takes no time - you'll never miss event that you're gunning for.
Speaking of - character schedules are simple and constant, even if you missed a window - it will be there tomorrow, no need to skip an in-game week.
There's a lot to do - here's a nice quest log with hints.
Combat might be a bit hard - go earn money, buy consumables, roflstomp.

Oh, right, it's a porn game. It's, uh, there, but it really fades into background. You slowly corrupt your crew into your harem. You improve their exhibitionism so they wear more and more revealing clothes. But it's smeared so thinly over the game, that there isn't really a fappable sequence. Most sex scenes have to be repeated couple of times and they consist of a single animation.
The phrase that come to mind is "a game in pornographic setting". Porn is there, it's everywhere, but it isn't the main attraction.

This is a good game, but it's more of an actual game and less of a porn game. The scenes are one or two gifs with no interaction possible and no conversation between the characters.

After unlocking a scene, like a blowjob for example, you walk up to one of the girls you ask her to give you a blowjob and you see her licking the protagonist's dick, you hit next and you see him coming. That's pretty much how all the scenes move forward.

This is not only a lewd game with nice animations and events. It's also a complete space exploration and trading game in its own right. Even when not looking for a sex game, I occasionally booted up this just for the gameplay and to advance the story.
It's even a completed game, with a developed storyline and a satisfying ending. Great experience, will proparbly continue to explore just to unlock the last few gallery pieces.

Alright, I finished the game after almost a week of playing, and I have to say at the start, I felt an enormous urge to play and progress. It really hooked me, so to speak. But I had a huge, when I say huge, I mean absolutely massive difficulty adapting to the game, from the standard missions to the daily tasks on the ship, which, by the way, are extremely repetitive. I know that later you can have someone else handle them, but even then, only up to a certain limit… Anyway… personally money wasn’t much of an issue for me, but it would be nice if the game made the best way to earn money more explicit, and oh boy... the combat mechanics.

Speaking of which, I believe the power scaling is quite unbalanced. Normally, you start weak and gradually get stronger to the point where earlier enemies become completely irrelevant. But not here—if you try to take on two Krell ships with just the maxed-out gun and no torpedoes, you're dead! Even with the best shield, you either die or lose HP and ship parts, That was pretty frustrating because it forced me to keep going back constantly to avoid battles… which could have been avoided if it worked the way I suggested.

Another downside is some of the missions. Even with the hints, sometimes it’s practically impossible to figure out where to go or what to do to complete them, which gets frustrating. I understand that this game, unlike others, wants to make you work for it, but come on—better-designed hints can work wonders.

Another thing that bothered me was the dialogues and cutscenes in the sex scenes they feel so empty and emotionless. Tease is practically nonexistent in this game... It's like you're fighting for something, but the reward doesn't feel fully satisfying. Besides improving those scenes, I’d also suggest enhancing the standard dialogues after reaching certain levels. The way the crew members perceive the captain remains practically static until the end it doesn’t feel like all the training actually changed them internally, you know?
So, simple things like changing their facial expressions and poses on the ship, the way they refer to the captain with more respect and desire… Small details like that would add a lot to the experience.

But for me, the worst part of the game is how it hides the mechanics for progressing with the girls. I played almost to completion without even getting a hand job from T’ris!! because there was simply no clear indication of what to do in the missions! That was surreal when I checked the walkthrough how to do...

So, in summary, the game is very good and well-made—the models and everything else but it falls short in these aspects I mentioned.

I also felt that the game sped up too much after leaving the first system. It seems like the developer had bigger plans for each sector but chose to rush the game's ending instead such a shame.

This one is really a gem. One of a kind. No game made in Ren'Py here does what this game does (well... Mostly aren't even games in the technical senses). Technicalities aside, though, this game also stands on its own for many reasons: the graphic presentation is superb, done with great care, love, and originality; talking about originality, the characters, though clearly based on The Girl 8, were customized so each one has its own characterization while retaining the overall game style (personally, I find them really cute, though I don't give ratings based on mere personal tastes); and the game is also fun to play for those who like management games. Unfortunately, here, many just rate games based on if they tingle their tiny parts -- poor boys who can't go to PornHubs to get some release. That's why you'll see some -- sparse -- low-rated reviews. I bet most of them are "i CaN't GeT tO sMuT sCeNeS eAsILy." Well... This is, in fact, true. If you just "play" (I guess "read" would be a better word) "games" (i.e., "pulp porn novels") to fap, stay away from this game. Even as an XXX game, its style is a trainer-like game, thus, taking time to get to the porn scenes is part thereof. Too bad "those" reviewers can't rate a game for what's intended to be and not for aligning to whatever makes them (or their tiny parts) tick.

only two stars wtf?! let me explain...

the amount of work you put into getting scenes in this game is a huge time sink, we are talking like 20 hours to get all of it, maybe more, and the overall theme is bondage stuff and pin up artwork, I beat the game despite that and don't feel like playing space rangers light was worth it. Also very few sex scenes depict penetration, and the artist has no idea how to model the naughty bits. So, grind away if you want for model swap scenes and slight variations.

Quite a long game. The animations aren't top notch but this game is fun to play and you get sexy ladies to bang while you're at it.

Keep playing and you'll be able to have them in a fairly undressed state that doesn't really bother them -> or a significantly more undressed state that does bother them. It "bothers" them by stressing them out and ruining their mood which isn't that big of a deal once things get going and you're super duper uber mega rich.

Speaking of being rich, it starts off kinda slow, but listen, there is no time limit. Just take your time and figure things out -> refer to the walkthrough if you're completely stuck. You can speed things up via giving yourself a ton of money, but not by much.

I just wish we can pick one girl to "favorite" -> maybe sleep with her at night. Or maybe just have the obviously horny girls stop pretending they're not being horny. Like,

That aside, fantastic game. Don't come here looking for instant gratification. Enjoy it.

Good game that utilizes Ren'py to its limits; plenty of places to visit, modules and equipment to deck out your ship with, and space battles that can really test you (if you don't scroll them back when you screw up anyway). As a game, it would be at least a 4*

The rest? Not so much.

The sex scenes are extremely lackluster and far in between long sessions of grind, consisting of a few images looped together to form a crude animation. The writing/dialogue could help with these scenes if it wasn't as bland and devoid of soul as the rest of the package. "Nice," "Very pleasurable," and other dry observations are all you'll get as you watch 3 images loop together after hours of grinding all of the necessary stats and precursors for the scene. The sound is also nothing to write home about, and while I'm not a fan of the character models (all with the same general figure and plastic doll look), I understand the style will be largely subjective.

Overall, an engaging game that can soak up hours of your time, but with little payback in return. If you want a fun little spaceflight adventure, try it; if you want anything spicier, prepare for disappointment.

I thought that this was another game in which you don't just go from scene to scene, overcoming the routine, but I enjoyed playing, I even put away the napkins, sorry.
More advantages: there is no excessive graphomania, like in TITS and a pleasant style, unlike many games that use 3D models.

one of the best games in its genre. i really like the amount of effort that is put into making the gameplay interesting. Also its well balanced and the amount of QoL improvements since the first releases show the devs dedication.
I personally like the artstyle a lot and can recommend Princess in the tower by the same dev for anyone who likes it as well.

Awesome game, great work overall! Some rough edges here and there (UX/balancing), but a great game and some clear improvements over your last one, which is always awesome to see! For others reading: try this game out, enjoy, don't be afraid to use console command cheats (where needed).

Disclaimer: 4 stars to me is good/great, worth playing. 5 stars is only for the best of the best imo, so this not being 5 stars doesn't count strongly against it.

Highlights:
- I absolutely love the art style, not only the great disney-esque character models, but the game as a whole looks stellar. Truly killing it here!
- Loved the corruption via outfit progression, super well done! First crew outfit could be less risque to make that slutty jump from a base outfit to it less jarring, but as I loved that outfit so much it's hard to say.
- The premise, setting, and worldbuilding is good
- The characterization of each crew member is great, I love their different personalities and how that shows up (from dressing preferences to pubic hair to how they dance, etc.). T’Ris is a unique char, the goth girl is to die for, and the princess trope always works.
- The gameplay is surprisingly great, as are the minigames
- I liked some of the gameplay choice decisions, between two options (albeit not when it locked you out of a scene)
- The lore/worldbuilding/plot is good

Areas to improve (constructive criticism):
- An external walkthrough for main missions is an orange flag; maybe a pass on clearer signaling via in-game UI of what to do would be good.
- Related: A specific page/section for each crew member's next steps for sex
- The economy could use a lot more balancing, beyond the early game
- Mid game missions are slow and can be a grind; the grid-based combat is fun for a while, but when forced to repeat it slows down a lot (same thing for sex scenes, to a lesser extent - forced repeats isn’t ideal in general).
- Some form of (fully) automated trading via the base was what I expected, that'd be nice for passive income like with bots
- Personal: I'd really love to see anal sex as the next step in each crew's 'training'.
- Similarly, as you did such a good job overall with it, maybe lean more into crewmember personalities with clearer sexual act kinks/preferences via dialogue, esp. during sex?
- Some later game puzzles were obtuse
- The moment-to-moment writing (as opposed to the broad strokes plot) is merely passable

Granular: - Add button to easily get directly to/from space view, rather than through cabin. And button for travel & dock at same time. And many other things that could be 1-3 clicks less, esp. for common actions. There's a mod that helps with this, maybe take some inspiration from it.
- (for next game): rethink the inventory system, mainly around using items on people, as it can be near impossible to guess and the inventory becomes a mess. Concretely: Separate out consumables from single-use or permanent items. And remove unusuable/WIP items until they have a use.

After playing through princess & the tower as well right after this one (because I saw so much potential here), it’s clear this is from the same creator, and an evolution. The gameplay is more interesting, the art is cleaner, yet still has a lot of the DNA as the first (for both better and worse).

Imo, the main area for you to improve, as a creator, is the UX and balancing - everything takes way too many clicks (mainly common actions), and it’s more fun with cheats (which is a shame, as the gameplay is usually pretty interesting otherwise). Additionally, consider polishing the character development (only mentioned because you do such a good job of this sometimes, and so the weaker parts, like asking about work/school during sex, are glaring). That being said, I'm definitely going to be watching you closely, as the core blend of amazing art, hot characters, fun worldbuilding is very compelling!

Space Journey X is one of the best H-Games of its genre. It shows both the skill and the passion of the Dev. As of this review, development is ongoing to expand on current content and add new scenes and mechanics due to the outpouring of support by the community. All around a great game and an exemplary model of what H-games should be.

I play hentai or adult theme games all the time very few impress me or even come close to being worth a decent rating. I have come across hundreds that had potential and where abandoned, as well hundreds more copy paste trash doing the same old stuff. That is some of why I give this game dev max ratings the unique model style, the frequent updates and releases, they are active with posts news and more. I am always looking forward to new version drops as well being unable to support with $$$ I am very thankful the dev always releases free without any pay wall content blocking for poor supporters!
I am also very impressed with y.v. Their work ethic is amazing, the response to suggestions or questions is quick and polite. Positively my favorite creator and This game is my #1 on a top 10 list. I keep replaying this and waiting for the next update for more sad it will eventually stop getting more though still look forward to what is coming.
The game is amazing great art, story, fun mini games and main quest lines. My personal play has only a couple minor complaints tris needing to be drunk for sex in her room every time still after you progress to bridge favor and night visit is an annoying over site for me, I wish for more detail never see creampie after or many alt positions, Vee and Khelara could have ( I believe it is being worked on currently ) more places on ship to get favours from Vee is found in lab alone often for a favour and could be on the dance pole list as well. I would like MC outfit changing on the start day with rest of the crew and if it ever is possible would love if all outfits could be bought and given to every crew member Nimhe and Seraphine would look so good in the tri's final 4th lvl outfit or all in Shady outfit with some kit modifications. Vee could use the ability to get other outfits after her sub or app is high enough sense half the fun of walking the ship is seeing the girls as you dressed them up for the day. I would also love to see future content for the base a compound build with crew rooms with new scenes with the girls maybe mc bathing/showering sex with the girls, workout sex with them in the gym, rec room sex on pool table or something ect ect.
I will stop there the BEST thing about this game for me personally is all the massive open potential y.v has already and how much more is opened up with each addition!! I can not get enough of it so yeah should get an adult version of best game reward someday!

I have played so many h-games, it must be in the hundred's and this one is a true gem. This is one of those rare games which is actually *fun* to play. The dialogues are to the point short, and interesting. There is no overly long exposition of video game lore. And yet, there is lore. But you gradually get introduced to it, piece by piece. The art is unique and well done. The game reminds me a bit of Elite (the classic space game) but with a porn twist. You can take on missions, do bounty hunting, upgrade your ship, fly around, do missions. What a great game. It's truly great. 10/10. Last tip: if you try the game for the first time, be patient with it. It doesn't do a lot of handholding (yes there are hints, but sometimes they can be cryptic and they don't explain everything). After about an hour of play you will know how the game works.

Edit: so I finished the game after 20h? 40h? I lost track, it was so good. The story, sidequests, everything, This is definitely in my top 3 of best h-games. Captivating!

Some unique and refreshing character design choices, with a coherent narrative, and clear dialogue brought down by and expanding grind for narrowing content over the course of the gameplay.

This game starts strong and has a good pace and balance of gameplay and content in the initial phase, but as new characters and mechanics are introduced old ones seem to be forgotten. The pace then start to crawl as the expanding grind takes over and the content slows.

At ~150 days in, it becomes clear that, while the game remains a sandbox, progression had become linear, taking several days for any given step in a quest. With 80% of the content in the gallery completed in half that time, the primary input becomes pressing Q to skip time instead of clicks to interact or progress dialogue. Based on the current flow, I'd expect it to take another 150 days to get the last 10%.

Giving this an average rating due to the fall off over time. The game starts strong, but slowly becomes more and more disappointing. Would've been a 4/5 if it wasn't tagged as completed, as there'd at least be hope that content would still be added in areas that it seems incomplete.

I usually don’t write reviews, but since there aren’t many for this game and the developer truly deserves recognition for their great work, I decided to share my thoughts.

I’ve never been a fan of point-and-click games and typically stick to 3D games. However, this game caught my attention, and after playing it a few times, I was hooked. The gameplay is relaxed, without any forced pacing or strict time limits. The animations and visuals are top-notch, and I also enjoy the engaging and spicy storyline.

I’ve been playing this game since around version 0.80 and am currently enjoying version 1.50-15. The developer is genuinely invested in understanding what the fanbase wants and maintains great communication across all platforms where the game is available, including itch.io, Patreon, and F95.

Although I’m currently in a tough financial situation, I intend to support this game on Patreon or itch.io as soon as I can. Whatever your preferred gaming style, I highly recommend giving this game a chance. Who knows? You might discover your next favorite addiction.

Took a while since I first tried this out. Now after finishing it once and a second time I feel I am able to give a proper review and criticism. Outstanding effort for a porn game, full stop. For first time play, it will feel grindy, repetitive, and unrewarding. However, if you can move past the initial money grind of about 50 million(less time if you are lucky with robotics crates), the game starts to move at a very good pace. To that end the best method of gaining money will be robotics construction and arcade revenue. Mining very quickly becomes obsolete as an income source and is only good for crate hunting. I won't say the story is amazing but then again if I want a good story I am just going to open a book. The amount of fap material is decent with limited animation, is enjoyable just not what I would call over abundant. So why the 5 star one might ask, because while I came for the porn, I stayed for the mid and late game mechanics. Robotics is quite entertaining. Although I would prefer the gambling element to be removed, it can nonetheless be sidestepped in the current configuration regardless due to the current engine.
Message to Dev. It takes entirely way too long to get perfect traits, personality, attitude if playing as intended. Especially when we are already dealing with random rolls when it comes to the base stats which is by far the most critical element when it comes to bot value. I look forward to further updates and polish from the dev. Good luck, and well done.
