is the story mode actually paywalled with a code to unlock it or is the code requirement just a placeholder due to the story mode being disabled in an earlier version?

Besides the other concerns that people have raised, why can't you load a game while on the menu. I have to start a new game just to load my save in survival and then it breaks a ton of stuff like most of the stuff on the table disappears or you can't interact with the shower. Also, I'm with everyone else, the guy with the rifle sucks. I managed to kill him once and he still shoots another volley after he dies, which can kill you
my malwarebytes scan found a trojan in the folder from all sources even in the itch.io platform.
Is there anything you can do after you get infected in Survival mode or is it currently just functioning as a delayed game over state?

Just tried out the game. I'm really excited for when this game works, but right now, it's completely broken.
-Dying leads you to the main menu rather than loading last save, making you go through several load screens to get back to where you were.
-Status window showing your body covers the the graphics option menu and I can't figure out how to turn it off so I can see what the graphic settings are.
-Starting Survival, as soon as you exit the fence, you are shot from a guy off screen and kills you instantly. I have died more than 15 times just trying to kill him. I cant see him so I just try to shoot in the direction of the enemy's bullets. People shouldn't shoot you from off screen. Unless I'm doing something wrong. I couldn't find a crouch or stealth option to avoid him and get close.
-Game has crashed 3 times
-I finally killed the enemy that is shooting me, however his gun continues to shoot while his dead body lays there and kills me.
-I have gotten a glitch where I have infinite health, twice now. So I can't see any sex scenes.
-I haven't been able to see any sex scenes because as soon as a zombie gets me, a guy shoots me and kills me before I can see anything.
-I lost all of my hunger and thirst meter while the game was paused and died.
All of this happened in a span of 20 minutes.
Once this game actually works, I can see it being freaking amazing. I'm slightly frustrated at my first experience, but the Dev here seems freaking cool. Keep up the work!

yeah also my windows defender detecting trojans when downloading, opera also stops the download by itself because you detection of a virus

Hey! A few people have reported that Windows Defender or Opera is flagging the game download as a virus or Trojan.
I want to clarify: there is absolutely NO malware in the project.
The reason for this false positive is most likely due to the way the story mode password is embedded in the game build.
Some antivirus programs flag files with embedded access codes or passwords (like mine) as suspicious — especially if it's a new or rarely downloaded file hosted on Google Drive.
If you're unsure, you can scan the unpacked build on VirusTotal, but again, it's a false detection caused by how the project is packed and protected.

i just play the game, i would say its amazing. im looking forward to the story mode.
on the survival i just dont know what to do when i first play. i mean we need a tutorial about moving the camera, taking loot, and another basic movement tutorial.
im kinda curious, what genre would be on the game ? except the available one , do the dev want to add another genre ?
