Unity - Spooky Milk Life [v0.67.7] [MangoMango & Studio Gingko]

This game is just the quintessence of porn game, the art is just incredible, scenes can be easily repeated, there's progression and hidden quests throughout the game. You never actually know when the game is finished but don't want to find out because you want to play it again and again, this is definitely a VERY good game. Highly recommend!

I love the art and animations! There seems to be a good base here, although there is not much here yet. Also, the English translation is very rough.

I rate H-games on how easy it is to fap too and this one is real easy to scenes are great and in abundance and everything you do in this game is geared towards getting scenes and the scenes in question are great.

Love the artstyle. I mean, it's a rare thing when such games have a decent backgrounds, walking animations, location transitions and a bunch of other small things done nice.

But the dialoges, H-scenes and the way you progress with each character seems... dull?..

There is more to downsides than that, but Popabear already said pretty much everything there is to say. Scroll down for it.

I'd rather see a variety of original scenes with each character like it was executed in Hero Party Must Fall, with each character having enough personality to distinguish one character from another. In addition to that, having an interactive sex scenes with any girl would also be great, adding stuff by a checklist of "missionary, cowgrill, BJ, titfuck" is lame, get some references, study poses, overexadurate keeping anathomy in mind - thats the way you get the audience.

The art of this game is good. The gameplay is not too "deep": u grind, get the item's and go on (not too grindy in my experience). It's light on content. The story is a 3 stars, enough to keep you entertained. I give four stars because I like where is going and the proyect is ambicius. But as I said, it's light on content right now.
The negative: walking through the map is a bit slowly (battle animation's too) and there is not such thing as a tutorial.

In addition to a great story, the game has a unique trait, the drawing style, animations. interactions and so on. It really wins over the audience. I hope it continues like this and doesn't stop, we really appreciate it!!

The art style of spooky MilkLife Saga is definitely carrying this game.

Gameplaywise it's lacking any sort of depth, like in the dungeons or hell even the overworld in some extent.

But the worst part of this game is the painful grinding you have to put in to unlock most of the scenes. I don't have a problem with grinding in a game, but if the grinding part is basically the main part of the game. After time, it simply becomes painful, and you become a glorified meat grinder.

Regarding positive aspects of this game are the crafting system, environment and character design and excellent H-scenes.

If you don't like grindy games with boring mechanics, this one is not for you!

I'll still have to give it a decent score, due to charming artstyle and niche little ideas the game provided.

Spooky Milk Life [v0.32.4] is a game I sadly regret playing. I like the concept of dolls, the renders are great, and the same with animations. But the game seems to be done very poorly, it's very repetitive with some buggy stuff that can ruin combat and travel. Traveling around can be a confusing mess with quests sometimes being the same as well, the writing is fine but nothing that will be memorable. From other reviewers, it seems they changed a lot for Patreon and moved to another engine that messed stuff up, so take that as you will. I wouldn't recommend this one for a long while at the very least.

Spooky Milk Life [v0.22.8] review
Time played: 2 hours

It took me 2 hours to realize I'm not getting anywhere in this game. And then I realized the game is also shit. Here are the reasons for why I think it's shit:

- It's unintuitive as all fucking hell. When you walk around the house, sometimes the camera "rotates". Enter a door east-to-west and suddenly you're exiting from the north. Enter downwards, exit upwards. Which way is up? Fucked if I knew. You can't click objects if you're standing on top of them. You use right click to move. Left click seemingly does nothing. Whyyy?
- Main gameplay loop consist of a "skillshot" where you try to time your click and a spam-click minigame if you get wrestled. It's fucking impossible to hit the bullseye and to escape the hold you need to click at like 60hz. I've got cold fingers, I can't click that fast. Which of course means I have to grind more than the regular player. I read somewhere that you need to grind up your stats to make it easier to hit and escape, but I'm not going to because this really sucks! I unlocked the gym but I can't use it because it requires "upgrade tokens". Then why the fuck did I spend $100 for a gym membership!?! How do I get upgrade tokens? No clue.
- Every day I lose money for some reason. Why? No clue.
- It's fucking grindy. Both the "main gameplay loop" and relationship stat grinding is cranked up to 11. You can interact with a character to get a small relationship boost. This uses up the timeslot you're in so you can't just keep grinding, even if you just give her a gift. You'll need to find the character again (walking around simulator) and keep on doing this for god knows how many times.
- It's buggy. I got softlocked out of progression because apparently I need to finish another quest first.
- You'll need to "sleep to progress" some quest, despite this not being clear in the quest description. Passing time to advance is a 100 % shit mechanic. Especially if it isn't clear that's what you need to do.
- You'll need a walkthrough. I got stuck on the very first quest multiple times. The in-game quest system is of no help at all. But wait there's more: There isn't a walkthrough available! So you'll be stuck here scouring through the thread trying to figure out what to do next half of the time playing.
- You'll need cheats. Losing 50 % of all earned money every day just feels like a slap in the face. You'll need to cheat yourself some money.
- It's open world but the progression is mostly linear. Again: "walking around simulator".
- Art is sub par, with placeholder black/white art everywhere.

All in all, this was a terrible experience and I don't recommend anyone to subject themselves to it.

Terrible game. Grindy, non-intuitive and repetitive. Art is good but it is just not worth it to go through it for the 2-3 scenes there are (even if there are more as of now, I don't even care enough to get them).

The MC is a fucking child. Stupid and borderline disgusting situations happen to get the scenes.

ofc there are a lot of things to improve (backgrounds and visuals), but the path chosen is pretty good.

Game looks great, is animated well, but the story is cliche, the gameplay has potential to be good, but the controls f*ck the game's chances of being an above average game.

For constructive criticism's sake, the movement feels weird and jiterry when you clash with objects, the developer says use A to attack, but instead of attacking, you just go left. Like wtf is that ? X and Z do nothing.

This game was on gray areas on some topic but it seemed the developer caved into pateron's rule. So what it was originally supposed to be made is now completely altered, The original game is no longer in development and I now assume the game will head to a different direction (which it already has considering they switched game engine this year). So anyone who was interested in this game pre-summer update will no longer like where it will head. As for the "dungeon" mechanic it's alright had a bug a few here and there, I prefer the other version, the current one takes longer imo.

Oh right, forgot to mention they just removed their discord to avoid the reaction to their change so yknow.

I'm gonna go ahead and give version 0.7 4/5 stars because I genuinely enjoyed it. The last version I played was either 0.1 or 0.2, I don't remember, and it looks like they've made plenty of changes since then. The game is still unfinished, after over a year do legal issues, or something, but appears to still be on track to be finished sometime next year.

Pros
+ High quality art style & Big Fat Anime Tiddies. All the character images are animated. Tits bounce, gals smile and wink and all that good stuff.
+ There's more milfs now. Which is fucking based. Also there's at least 12 characters total, I didn't count closely, who you can romance which is pretty rad. Most don't have dialogue options yet though.
+They removed the cringy incest and lolicon shit, because they're men of culture, I assume.
+ The gameplay is much improved. The game is basically designed to be played with a mouse now. Characters move like paper Mario, and enter into turn based combat, with a timed minigame that determines whether you hit and how much damage you deal. There are also RPG elements included where completing a dungeon gives you a skill point with a trainer that'l let you boost your stats.
+ The interface is easy to use. You can fast travel at any time, even to specific rooms so there's less wasted time.

Cons
- The plot. It might as well not have one. You live with your not step family. Your dad was murdered. Now the mc's gotta find out who dunnit. You can in fact make pron vidya ganes that don't revolve around that trope. No one will object.
- There's a few minor bugs in the demo. I hope they'll be fixed but my expectations are very low.
- I feel like they're maybe trying to do too much. The game is pretty good, there's alot you can do in game, but I worry that they may leave some more unfinished than others in order to rush the game out to sale.

The devs said they'd release the Beta 1.0 in January of next year. The main dev said he'd work on the game if he got 2k patreon supporters. I wasn't supporting development before but after seeing how much they've already accomplished I'll probably start.

When this project was first shown off I was excited to finally have an H game with timing based RPG with random dungeons, quality animations and some more "niche" fetishes (shouts out to the lactation nation) However after these past few months the game is now soon being SOLD and has degraded and abandoned nearly everything shown off originally. Now prepare for a long ass review

The art is unique and that's really important considering a majority of the games posted all have that same rough 3D. I enjoyed the older designs of the characters and I am miffed at the changes, but that's not the reason for the low score. My reason for the low score is that they still haven't properly explained the reasoning as to why they had to change things and whenever it comes up on their Patreon they just go radio silent. Miscommunication and not considering ANY alternatives like Subscribestar which are more lenient when it comes to adult content.

I do not understand wanting to have the game on steam. It does not help adult games in the long run for various reasons.
A: Nobody wants other people to know that they play sex games on their steam profile.
B: When putting things on Steam there are a lot of restrictions you have to abide by in order to have it there.
C: Unless your game is a smash hit it will never hit the front of Steam recommended.

TLDR: Miscommunication with devs to their supporters about changes to their game, and complete refusal of any alternatives. If the art wasn't good I'd give this 1 star.

Mango and Gingko did surely one of the worst mistakes on game development and that is releasing the game on steam and turning their heads down just to follow steam standards of shitty Adults Only filters which is the complete overhaul change of the characters relationship with MC, model changes, NPC changes and finally CENSORSHIP 100% like there's no tomorrow because steam never is going to allow AO in their true nature.

Glad i just supported them 2 months after this damn fiasco happened, because i would feel real salty if i be supporting at this very moment a game that got one of the worst changes in the game to simply not having any interest in playing it!

I'm done with this game but the only i do have to give to mango is his amazing artstyle and animation skills which i be sure to follow, but when comes to support spooky milk life at its current state? Not in a million years i wont be supporting such a massacred game with altered censored garbage content i will only consider to support it again if they fully revert all the changes and be available to be purchasable on dl-site because at least there they do respect creator's genres of their game
