VN - Ren'Py - Stains of Blue [v1.6b BETA] [Zetzsuu]

I'm not one to write reviews but I've been OBSESSED with this game ever since I've finished it so if there's one that deserves a review it's definitely this.

This is probably one of the most grounded ways an NTS scenario can be written into the story and I loved everything about it.
The way the dialogue is done, the main character's narration, and the way Aqua reacts, it's all so completely outstanding.
especially the "confession" scene, and the way it transitions into the opening credits, it speaks of the developer's artistic vision and I love it.
An adult VN has never spoken to me like this one has, and it's honestly something.

I'll say the AI art's inconsistency at times is one weak point, but everything else is just professionally excecuted that you could chalk it up to artistic choice and get away with it tbh. It's just that good.

Dialogue, sound design, music, writing, ero scenes 10/10 for me.


Oh and another thing.. speaking of the ero scenes. I had breasts in my first run and tried another file with Feet as the main focus and I'm absolutely floored by the amount of variety. I thought it was just a dialogue here and there but the entire ero sequence changed, not just one act, but the multiple acts have changed and it's honestly impressive.

Review of the first demo release.

Positive:
- Well-written (both grammatically and stylistically). Deep, thoughtful, well-paced, with due attention to the emotional aspect.
- Interesting idea for the main LI customization – and I don’t mean the choice of pubic hair (which is also nice to have) but the choice of persona and the relations with the MC, from submissive to dominant, from pimp to cuck, with flavors in between.
- Visual style – menus, text box, the watercolor-ish framing and backgrounds – it’s a fresh look and it mixes very well with the sensual mood.

Questionable:
- AI images are quite alright on their own, but even in the demo with the limited content volumes they lack luster and consistency. Besides, since it’s AI, the wife looks… generic. Not bad at all, but also not the way that would make you remember her. Also, there are artifacts in some animations. This requires further polishing.
- The chosen approach to let the player choose between all the wife’s personas and styles of relations in the couple means that this will be a shit ton of writing. This is – to say the least – an attempt to squeeze a few games into one. A very ambitious task to cater to as many player preferences as possible. I’d say, almost too ambitious. There have been so many projects that look well and promise much in the beginning but later get abandoned or see their quality washed down the drain.
- The artsy watercolor combines well with the sensual route of sharing the submissive/loving/caring version of the wife, but for those who design a more dominant wife and cucky relations this vanilla look might seem out of place.

Overall, this is quite a promising start. There are moments that require some polishing, which is perfectly reasonable for a demo. There are also some decisions in the game design making me as a player worry that this project may be trying to be too many things at once.

Regardless of that – godspeed to the developer!

This VN is a masterpiece in every sense. The artwork is absolutely stunning—every background, expression, and detail feels alive and perfectly crafted to pull you into the world. The storytelling is equally brilliant, weaving together an engaging narrative that balances depth, emotion, and pacing beautifully. What impressed me most, though, were the characters. Their emotions are portrayed so vividly—whether it’s joy, heartbreak, or quiet reflection—you truly feel connected to them on a personal level. Rarely does a game manage to make me pause just to absorb the weight of a moment, but this one did. A must-play for anyone who values art, story, and emotional depth in gaming.
