RPGM - Completed - Star Knightess Aura [v1.0.2] [aura-dev]

The high rating the game has so far must be due to the potential some see here. But for me personally this game is one great grind-fest, with far too few sexual scenes inbetween.

Pros:

• great art (CGs and pixel art)
• great and unique gameplay ideas, with a good technical implementation but coming with a huge BUT... (look further down)
• good and promising build up, BUT...
• generally original story and a good foundation for an interesting NTR/corruption game

BUT or Cons:

• gameplay ideas have almost no effects. What does it help if you finally manage to spent points to make a mental change but you get NO rewards or effects apart from some dialog. Very disappointing
• Build up promises a nice corruption heavy game, but there are almost NO LEWD SCENES compared to the time you are actually playing. No groping, no harassment, really almost nothing. Again VERY disappointing
• NTR premise isnt used. The antagonist doesnt appear in the first 6 hours of the game

Summary:

All in all this game promises a lot, but delivers almost nothing. Maybe, if the intro wouldnt have hooked me that much, then I wouldnt have been this disappointed. And the biggest problem is: The dev could use the next ten updates for implementing only lewd stuff (which the dev wont do) and the lewd scenes would still be sparse.

Sorry guys, really tried to see this one positive . But the rating of this game definitely is much too high for what it has to deliver atm.

Edit: Whats with the NTR? I want to see scenes with the main antagonist, who harasses and gropes the MC and starts corrupting here. He barely even shows up after the prologue. What really gets me excited are relationships. And the prologue promises a NTR story between the villain and the star knightess, but there are absolutely no scenes between the villain and Aurora yet.... :/

While the game is still a bit early in its development I've got to give credit where it's due.

This game is surprisingly well written and I like how the corruption aspect of it was implemented, with the protagonist slowly being corrupted and brainwashed without her having the slightest idea, the scenes that occur between classes where these, at first little, changes are being noted by other characters surrounding the MC.

Now this game doesn't come without its cons, but being that it's still in development some of them can be ignored, such as the lack of art which can be a bit of a turn off if I'm being honest.

The combat and grind may feel a bit annoying at times, which is something I won't deny, but it's not completely pointless as the corruption of the MC isn't instantaneous, you see the MC go through it as the time passes so while it does tend to act a bit like a filler it's not completely pointless.

I'm looking forward to the development of this game and I'm planning to buy it in the near future although the slow development does annoy me quite a bit and also the part I'll try waiting for a full release, if it comes, before playing it again, I sincerely hope the game isn't abandoned as it has a lot of potential... Also, the protagonist's taste in entertainment is pure trash... Having read a lot of novels I've got to say the devs do know how most of those generic novels' names are made up...

This game honestly could be great, however it isn't.
I'm honestly surprised by how high this game is rated. My guess is what people rate this game high for its potential. Right now there is no better word to describe this game than "tedium".
Most monster encounters are pointless, there is literally no reward (exp/money) so you are actually encouraged to just dodge them. However because there is no "escape from combat" if they do touch you, you need to reload (or engage in pointless fighting, loosing some MP/HP). Who thought of that? You have a choice between fighting generic RPGM enemies (for no gains) or quitting the game to reload (ruining emersion).
Action system is also dumb. You have 1 action per day and it quickly becomes very annoying. You want to upgrade your stats or learn a new spell? Well each upgrade cost 1 action. So if you have items to upgrade yourself 3 times you need to waste 3 days doing it (wake up in isekai -> go to blacksmith -> choose upgrade -> watch same "normal" school day of MC -> repeat x3).
The amount of pointless dialog is ridiculous. At some points i was able to hold "skip" for like a minute strait without missing anything but flavor text.
Porn part is also surprisingly weak. Art is good, but there is almost none of it. During the MC's school day there is also (to my knowledge) no ecchi events. Don't get me wrong, there are events, during the school, but unless you are into reading pointless worldbuilding they aren't arousing.
MC's corruption is surprisingly nonexistent, upon entering the first city on the first day i was already able to flash my tits for money.

Overall this game is too boring to be an RPG and lucks actual porn to be good adult game. I really hope this game improves and i would have a reason to rewrite this review.

In my opinion one of the best h-games this site has to offer. I like corruption games but usually avoid hypnose games, since in most hypnose games it's like the heroine becomes like a soulless puppet. But it doesn't feel like that in this game.

There are a lot of different ways to play the game depending on what you choose to corrupt aura with first. Having different difficulties and new game+ is great for a game that gets constant updates too.

Art is great but sadly there isn't that much cg in the game yet.

Writing is excellent and the game has to offer a lot of different kinks.

Anyways, amazing game. Can't wait for future updates. 5 stars.

I don't have much to say. I just enjoy this game. However, I am required to write why: It's creative. It's original. The dev isn't afraid to explore new mechanics and do his own thing.

The corruption mechanic is very interesting, and is enjoyable to explore.

The separation between irl and in-game is interesting, and allows you to see the impact of some of your actions.

I actually quite like the art, though some people complain about it. It seems to fit the game imo.

What stands out the most about the game is the complex but fun gameplay mechanics using what the rpgm engine has to offer. Along with it, however, are questionable and unnecessary features which might ruin the game in the long run.


Story/Writing

It starts off as a geek, naive girl getting isekai'd in a world of fantasy, although the isekai part is more of a digimon isekai than the one you mostly see on today's animes. The mc both lives the life of a student during the day, and the chosen hero when she sleeps at night. It has humour and doesn't take itself too seriously, and the overall mood is light-hearted and not too intense. As it stands now, it seems like the game has barely covered a quarter of the overall story.
Not much errors on the grammar side too, which is nice. 5/5


Art

I've read somewhere that the dev has trouble financially, so the lack of CG is quite understandable. With the few that exists, however, the art is below than average. You could argue that it depends on the player's taste, but I can't really tell if that's the case. They are as generic as can be and lack the appeal to make me interested. If you played games like nymphomania priestess or karryn's prison, you will surely know what I mean. Even cartoonish style like bone tales manor has its own unique charm. Among all these 2d drawn art style games in the market, I expect the game will up its standards very soon. 2/5


(Also, fix the awkward position of standing CGs during dialogues. Aura holding her skirt upward while her other arm is on the side looks really unnatural. Her crying CG is also on another level of abnormality.)


Gameplay(divided into three)

I'm not claiming to be a rpg veteran, but I have my fair share of experience playing rpgm games because I prefer them most than the ren'py ones. It is obvious the dev has put alot of work on these mechanics and it was interesting enough to keep me playing more. Excluding the saitama power of collar, I enjoyed the gameplay overall.

Aside from the aforementioned issues, it looks the game is on the right track. There is no doubt the game will only get better in the future.

Amazing game this far!
Updates come regularly, and contain quite a lot of content each time.
Following the 'MAX LEWD' guide has proven a little difficult, at times, but it sounds like the developer will make this a little less tedious in the future.

i've first played the version version 8.** and the current one (14.2) there is a main play-game issue i don't know if it is on purpose or not.. there is no consistency in scenes and in quest.and with that i mean that the lewd scenes is not clear how to see the content if not go throught a guide and even so it is so compecated that u must track days quests etc. let me post some hints from the lewd guide
*Complete all the things for (Impostor Refugees) and as this is a major thing people get stuck on Liliana is where you talked to the Demon Worshiper on **Day 15 **then return to Desmond.
*In the next room talk to one of the “Dead Merchants” and give him a Vitality Potion this will not only give you a reward later but this is also for the new Corruption Stat you’ll get on **day 50**
and there are so many similar things like world bosses,materials,slime feeding etc.
There might be hidden formula that game calculates for ending purposes that i don't have knowledge of BUT from player perspective is so chaotic that he has no clue.. if someone tries to follow quest clues it is almost certain that he will see alomost no scenes

i want to put my feedback of the game so it can be more clear what i like and what not in this game

The writing kind of save the game but overall it'snot a good rpg.

It's not a good rpg 'cause there is no replayability, there is not in depth combat system, thereis no interesting grindable events like side job, fishing, those kind of things that are not part of the main story but that you enjoy to do...

At this point it's just a visual novel in which you control the Main character movement.

Graphism are ok, there is little nude/porn events.

The story isn't extremely mature but at least it's well written.

In Video game there is the word "game". To make a video game you first need to create a solid gameplay. Having a good script is always appreciated, but it's not the priority.

It's not bad as a one shot linear story, but it doesn't do the job as a rpg.

The dev. seems more focused on the combat mechanics than the lewd and that's cool and all but there just seems too many different unfinished mechanics at this point. At this point there is minimal lewdness and minimal artwork. The potential is there but let's hold off on the award ceremony. This is a review based on V 14.2

5 stars because the game shows a lot of promise and I want it to be seen and supported. It's still early on in development and I'm rating the idea of the game, not it's current state.

However, currently it has a lot of issues:
- the balance is not right yet. The game is too hard - especially if you want the pink dialogue. Right now it needs too much planning, following a walkthrough or simply too much repetition to get them.
- not enough sex scenes. It's a nsfw game and the slow burn is currently too slow. The idea of the corruption is great but right now there is no pay off.
- too much normal scenes. I know it boils down to preferences but right now you can play the game for 12h and only see 1-2 sex scenes.

and most importantly:
- I think the dev team might aim too high. 2 worlds, a corruption system, a battle system, a big world, the brain wash mechanics, and more. I fear the game might get too complicated later on to handle.

I only pointed out the negatives because I don't want to repeat the other reviews, the good review score speaks for itself. It has a lot going for i and it could become an amazing game.

Some of the best mind corruption mechanics I've ever seen. It looks like there will be three acts to the corruption. As of this review, the first act has a very detailed and interactive bimboification of the protagonist. The second act appears to be about MC's boyfriend. I assume the third (maybe final?) act is the slutification of MC (and probably NTR? It's tagged but there isn't any yet). If the quality and pace of the corruption is kept up through Acts 2 and 3, this game could be a greatest of all time. The descent into slut is going to be perfect at the current quality and complexity... there's mechanics on top of mechanics involved with the corruption, with so many pay off scenes.

While the gameplay is standard RPGmaker smash the same button, innovative meta systems make the game interesting. You are rewarded for exploring, learning weaknesses, or doing environmental things. There's no monster XP so skipping most fights is fine (unless they drop gold or are 1 of the 34 mini-bosses). And if you hate the grind, you have an 'I win' button at the cost of corruption. Eventually I started roleplaying and stopped hitting the 'I win' button, giving me some self-reflection on the silly fights I wasted it on earlier in my game, perfectly matching the corruption element of easy wins for a price.

The weak parts of the game is that gold is a tad grindy. There is no repeatable slut source of gold (often found in these games as a brothel), so you are stuck doing the vanilla job grind (which gives you +3 Max HP, interesting gameplay design here). I'm sure this is eventually fixed with future updates and new players can wait until the brothel job to max the gold sinks. The final weak part is the art; while the chibi characters, text UI, and environments are pretty decent the porn art is a bit too chibi/comical for my tastes, though still fappable thanks to the writing. My advice here is to make the darker more smutty future scenes appropriately more dark and gritty in art as well.

To quote one of the characters, I am 1000% percent going to keep checking up on this game to get more of the story, characters, and writing. And also the corruption of an actual loveable MC.

P.S. If a dev reads this, my secret wish is to replace her desire to make games into making smut PC games by the end. It's such a waste to have corrupted it out of MC.

Listen I love a slow burn corruption game as much as the next guy in fact they're my favorite type but holy fuck the game to sex ratio its not here at all

usually bad games are all sex no game, just stupid mindless romps, MC touches 1 dick and is now a whore but this the exact opposite, you will read 14 novels before she even sees a dick

The game IS good, dont get me wrong here, more so it has quite the dedication put on to it, plus the dev is prioritizing first the main roads of the story towards its conclusion then after thats done, all the further more "optional" content/parts of the game will be created. You will understand this more fully once you play a bit the game and come across several [not implemented] messages.

Now as for the main gimmick this game provides is a sentiment much echoed throughout many of the reviews; "this game does corruption just right as it should be" and that is absolutely true!, this aint the shit like: "MC gets fucked, suddenly now loves dick" is a more gradual, more granular and baby step sort of journey, which if you are into corruption chances are this is how you actually like it.

Anyways so with all of this going while i admit is a pretty good game which im sure many can enjoy, i have some (personal preferences) that dont go much with me, but because im not fully the intended audience it doesnt mean the game itself is bad! felt like that was important to get out of the way. Which this leads me to my next point "what are those things?" well, first and foremost this is a very scarce and light sexual content as far for actual sexual visual interactions, most of the time you will be spending hours to make progress, having to slowly chip away at it through the course of many days, this is because: A) you do not regenerate health without either consuming items (which there is a very limited supply of) or B) taking a trade off that would lead to the hero protagonist getting closer to corruption. So the way you can more affordably regenerate and further advance is to just end the day and the next time our protag comes to that world she will be full resources again. Personally i get it, is its own twist on the persona games approach that you dont clear everything in one night, but you slowly work towards a bigger more long run objective which is pretty nice, however you ARE pretty weak against many monsters and the progress can feel very stagnant without being forced to use the option B to get some meaningful progress done, so you are pretty much locked away from a "pure/virgin" route on your first playthrough because of it.

Now as far as the other thing that doesnt quite sit well with me is that this is so clearly and very much on the nose about what the protagonist will end up (once corrupted) which is (drum roll)...... a full on "bimbo". Personally i dont find bimbofication any erotic nor satisfying at all, dont get me wrong if you like it go nuts! please, enjoy it! but like i mention before, this is a more "personal preference/not intended audience" kind of nitpick, therefore it doesnt mean its bad because of it, is just that you have to be aware of it, as it will be quite unavoidable and pretty much on par with the story, so if its not your thing i would suggest you to straight out give this a pass.

TL;DR: all in all, good game , however there are a few caveats and small things i would have like to know what im getting into, among them; this isnt a (at least as of v0.13) heavy erotic/sexual content game, the "slow burn" truly is slow as progress to the former content can take literal hours, besides corruption this is heading towards bimbotown so beware of that if it isnt quite you thing (as with me). If you dont mind or actually enjoy this details by all means please go and enjoy the game, you will have a blast, as i said, the 4/5 is more a personal preference than an actual review of the game

Really good Corruption Game.. and the Graphics isn't bad either.. Love it. =)

But the Quests/Intructions could be a little better. Confusing what todo in the beginning after the intro.

But I like that you can decide your self if you want to try to keep her pure or corrupt her completly. Don't think there is a middle ground, which I tried first.

Tried to go for Sexually willing but not corrupted, doesn't seem like there is such a path.

if you're expecting a dedicated porn game then this isn't it, but the game's really well executed gradual corruption mechanic, engaging writing and characterization will do a lot to keep you invested as you spend literal hours unlocking the boob touching scene with nice art! try it out !!

This is one of the few H-games that I've played that is actually a decent if not fittingly cerebral game. It's pretty tough to brute force your way through things, but every problem has a legitimate solution that feels extremely rewarding once found. Battles require intelligent use of your mana, limited number of damage dealing items like bombs, and skills.

The corruption mechanic is where this game really shines though. Each day you gain a point of corruption and activating your Star Knightess ability also increases it. You then use these points to slowly start brain washing Aura to go from a what is essentially a Shounen protagonist to a bitchy mean girl by changing one small aspect about her personality at a time. These so far range from hobbies (like reading cheesy Isekai novels), clothing preference, to minor changes in how she views other characters and more. No one change is particularly dramatic which is nice considering how corruption is often represented in other games by a character doing a complete 180 within the span of a few lines of text just because a tentacle was shoved up their ass one too many times. It takes time to completely change a person.

As a consequence of the game's pacing there are still very few H-scenes, and honestly that's probably for the best right now. Having the main character immediately go from being in a normal healthy relationship with nerdy interests, to some cumdumpster in less than a week would ruin the main draw of the game which is the corruption mechanic.

Circling back to the story, you are essentially playing as two different characters in opposition to each other; Aura and . If you rely too much on your SK ability or take too long trying to get through the story will have to start spending your built up corruption points. If you don't, you will hit the cap and get a game over. The story at the very least is worth your time, and just passing each day to get corruption scenes is fairly boring so there is decent incentive for the player to take the time to actually play the game instead of just skipping through everything for something to coom to and forget about.

I look forward to checking back up on this game in future. Not just for coomer bait, but to play a unique and genuinely fun JRPG.

Art and gameplay is decent giving it a star but the main villain really ruins the whole thing. He's the epitome of an edge lord. You couldn't write an edgier more cliché villain if you tried. His "reasons" for being a villain are legitimately the stupidest things I've ever read. The main character is pretty funny and written fairly well so the game gets another star.

Really looking forward to when more content comes out! As it is, it's already a great game with superb writing. The combat as well as the corruption mechanics are fun, well thought out, and should scale, so I don't see any obstacles for adding more content.

I would say that this game is leaning more toward being an RPG game with lewd tendencies. Prepare for a slow corruption, but with a lot of detail and various ways to do so. It takes a lot of time to invest in going through the game, and things can get difficult and tricky at times, but if you do then you will be rewarded with the game's strongest suit, it's story. Amazing and engaging writing. Everything from the main story, to characters uniqueness, to simple side quests, and lots of twists and turns. If the dev wasn't making this I'd advice the dev to get into general writing.
