Unity - Starmaker Story [v1.7] [Arvus Games]

Great potential. A lot of mistakes and poor decisions that were completely avoidable for the dev. Some of these can hopefully be worked out in future updates.

Cons:

• Scenes are just tiny images that pop up, no sound and no animation.
• Scenes are AI generated so they occasionally have obvious flaws or don't look like the right character
• No gallery menu
• Game should hold your hand more. It is really difficult to microanalyze everything going on in the game with my dick in my hand
• No rollback. If I fuck up I have to load my save which wastes a LOT of time in the longrun
• You can only save in the bedroom
• Going from location to location takes too long for a sandbox latest update 1.7 supposedly fixed this
• Father and brother being a distraction (I recognize this is a personal preference)
• It takes FOREVER to get to see Anna in all of the outfits that you buy for her. You get 25+ outfits and only get to see them once per day in the lategame
• New holiday system is bothersome. They should just give you the option to start a holiday scene whenever you feel like it

Pros:

• Characters are hot as fuck
• Despite being mostly AI generated, the game looks really good. It was a smart choice for the game to be pixelated; makes the characters look less obviously AI.
• Mini games are cool. You have to play them a bit more than I would like but at least they're fun. I'm a sucker for tower defense.
• Music is catchy, which is rly important bc this game takes a while and you're gonna hear a lot of it
• Sharing is avoidable

tl;dr -- This game is extremely high quality, the LI's are gorgeous, the fetish content is quite unique -- but ALL the lewd scenes are unfortunately small (can't even be zoomed) still images with zero animations that are over in a few clicks.

This game had me hooked right off the bat, but after hours of grinding (cause this game is very grindy) I was crestfallen to realize none of the scenes were going to be nut worthy. Even the "home run" scenes with the main Milf -- who is legitimately S-tier -- were underwhelming.

The tease in this game is fantastic, the girls look great, but the payoff for the grind just isn't there. My degen brain is too damaged to nut to small, still images, regardless of how erotic the build up was.

Random pros:
-Dad isn't dead, and we don't have to be mean to him. Win.
-Surprisingly good minigames with lots of variations.
-Loads of full penetrative family content already in the game. Big Win.

Random cons:
-Single dialogue options will lock you out of entire character arcs without warning, and no roll back : /
-No sister character, wtf? Feels like a massive missed opportunity.
-Sandbox style, but there's a small delay between changing locations and talking to characters; this gets super tedious overtime when you're trying to grind.

Final thought:
Starmaker Story's fatal flaw is how close it is to being perfect, without ever getting there. I still recommend playing it for all the things it gets right.

Usually don't enjoy VN's this much.
Endearing characters, fun mini-games, good art - although it does look a bit too much AI sometimes.
Love the light-hearted nature of the game.
Hope there will be a gallery mode or ability to zoom into images on StarmakerApp in game

Love Anna, an amazing game over all with beautiful assets and backgrounds, nice music, okay world building, and amazing characters.

I especially love the teasing pictures and photo shooting mechanic, I think it's what got me so attached to anna in the first place.

This game just has such a way of drawing you into its world even if its by all standards a pretty mundane setting without much world building. But the amazing way they reel you in with anna and her star page MWAH!

The downside to this however is that the rest of the harem can feel kind of bland compared to anna, sure you can take pics of them to. But you cant upload them anywhere, make any money or rep off them. And you quickly forget about them. Whereas the starpage has annas listed on the front page with dynamic comments reacting to them and a profile that changes depending on her own attitude towards the site and you.

I want to like this game, I really do, it has a great premise, visual style, and a variety of sex scenes covering many fetishes.

So why does the gameplay have to suck?

The game is trying to be both a sandbox and a VN so there is a lot of player freedom but its not clear what actions will cause what consequences. The player can do what they want but often questlines get locked behind having traits which themselves are locked behind questlines and minigames. But the minigames are only available on certain days which makes the game less sandbox and more making the rounds to do what is available on monday, lest you miss something and can't continue a quest on thursday causing you to be delayed a week.

And the NPC interactions can be complex but being indecisive or just taking a look before you agree, can break several of them, Mario in particular is awfully fragile and linked to 3 girls so I never saw any of those scenes. But there's no redos either so if you decline the tech store guy's requests the scenes with the boutique are just gone he never reoffers.

I get that it's in beta and the intention is for the game to be replayed because their are many VN esque routes to do with the main "MILF" and surrounding "GROUP" but its never clear that, helping the dishes, which is required to do the day's photo, will lead you to the route that has significantly less content.

And I wouldn't mind replaying if it wasn't so fucking grindy, it is a real struggle to get enough subscribers to reach the next stage in the questline since they get halved every week, but you can only photograph the main girl so side stories or other npcs aren't even critical to the main premise of the game.

Which is where the core problem of the game lies, the lack of a strong core gameplay loop to bring the VN and sandbox aspects together, if doing side quests acted as "marketing" or gave more picture methods or opportunities, e.g. if doing the cafe girl route unlocks cafe ads or photos in the cafe, we would be able to link the disconnected sandbox to this main gameplay loop while still having a vast array of supporting characters. Similarly I feel the core routes on stealing/sharing/leaving should be better defined and moved later into the questlines to let players like myself get comfortable with the characters and scenario before making decisions.

tldr; looks great, seems great, plays like shit for some fundamental reasons in the gameplay that leads to endless grind and softlocked routes.

This game has a great foundation and a lot of content. Everything is laid well from the UI to the navigation to the H scenes. Unfortunately, they are not laid out well enough. Specifically, navigation takes FOREVER. Also, the lack of an option to speed up text is tedious after awhile.

If the dev can make some QoL improvements and continue to add more content, this is a 5/5 game.

Original design, great UI, cool music, I wish you could save before the elections and not just in the room. I ruined the mayor's mission by choosing the wrong answer. And a character gallery would be nice too

I really want to give this game 5 stars, as for the most part it is amazing. It's well crafted and curated, with fun little mini games, and components that function really well. It's a game, and a good game.

The story is great, the characters are great, the writing is great, the scenes and style are great. I would highly recommend this game to anyone, especially those who enjoy corruption and incest.

The only gripe I have with the game is the down time. Navigating the world, while at first is novel and fun, becomes very tedious and begins soaking up so much time. Animations between each screen, locking you out of engagement, to then have to go through several 'dead' or irrelevant locations to simply get where you are going becomes very very tedious and frustrating, especially considering how much content this game has (which is heaps woop!).

Overall, if you have the time and aren't limited to small windows of playing NSFW games, it'll probably be fine and worth the slower burn. But damn I just can't get past how sloggy it is to get around the world after several hours of gameplay.

It's too good the animation and all there is no other game as it, the artstyle and all is way off from the ususal 2d art but in my opinion it's the best game i have seen in regards to the artstyle and just not that the character desigins are also top notch would very much like to se more such games from the developer.

I am genuinely amazed how the developer can deliver a game in a relatively short development period (at least what is shown here on the F95 zone website) in which the main story lines can already be run through. It invokes all the clichés of the genre, but does it very well. Exciting AI art: check, fun simulator: check, fun mini gameplay: check, slow burn: check, a world in which NPC interact so that everything becomes more realistic : check.
Some suggestions: slightly too slow screen transitions (button to turn the star animation off maybe ? ) . Also, make the ‘Save’ icon in the MC bedroom clearer for Save (a disk icon or so) (cf. previous comment: save only works from MC bedroom).
The new skill tree is already well balanced! This game is cleverly made. Anna may be added in the top 10 memorable F95 milfs , and this game comes in my top 5. Thank you Arvus!

The thing about this game is that it has style. The art just feels cool, you know? Before it being a porn game or whatever, it has a distinct character. The driving scene is cool, the weather is rudimentary but adds a lot to it, the women are beautiful, and there is a good story here.

There is one minor and one major negative to this one. The minor negative one is that it starts relatively slow and takes a little to get going. I don't think this is a big issue as it adds more to the game aspect of the game instead of the porn aspect.

The major problem though is the transitions and how much time they consume. Each transition from space to space takes 3-4 seconds and a fade out. Then you have to wait for the lower text to appear, which is another 2 seconds. It might not look like much, but it adds a lot of unnecessary time that is essentially wasted. When you couple it with the grinding element in this game, it becomes a slog to go through. By itself, the grinding wouldn't be jarring if so much time wasn't wasted. The grinding aspect is also mini-games, which I've found fun for the first few times. After a while it becomes repetitive (which is normal).

But despite these, I enjoyed the game a lot and will be buying it on Steam to support. The game oozes style and is actually fun despite the major negative aspect, and that is why it's a 5 stars.

Edit: Just read other reviews that say this has A.I. art. If this is solely A.I. with no human input whatsoever, then kudos to the engine that made them. Please someone tell me which one it is.

This a 3 for a couple very specific reasons that pull it down for me.

You can mute the annoying ass music but you CAN NOT mute the sound effects and the voices that take place as well. Could be good but when the sound track flakes out and you get a series of annoying dolphin sounds instead it means to get it to stop I must now mute my computer instead. Not so good for me. I do business in the background and now my notification sounds are also muted.

In order to save your game you must tell the game to exit. Found this little feature finally when I got so pissed off I decided to leave.

You really should get the walkthrough as the in game hints suck balls and give you very little guidance.

In game mini games (Which Dev's please take note, you may like them but a majority of us hate this feature with a passion. They are annoying time waste features.) really suck badly as there is piss poor guidance as to what you should be doing in them to achieve the optimal results. And since there is a damn mini game for everything you need to do to advance the game prepare to be annoyed a LOT.

And the biggest kicker. You grind your ass off and finally have earned the elusive in game sex scene and.....its four quick pictures, if you are lucky, of various penetration scenes. No animation. No that would be asking way to much apparently. My God, Dev. if teh sex blows you just ruined the entire premise of playing an ADULT themed sex oreiented visual novel. Story is great but come on, we are all here for teh sex.

Great premise. Piss poor delivery. Dev, fix your shit and I will gladly throw more stars at you. Looks alone are why you have the 3. The grind in this is terrible as well. Not as bad as a lot but still not pleasant either. For the prices you have to pay out for items in teh game though. 32 in game days and I was broke as hell still.

Um paid 20000 to send annoying useless Adrian to Japan yet the annoying sack of meat is still there? Things don't always make sense.

over the years i've completed upwards of hundreds of nsfw games. this is very easily top 10 for me. honestly probably top 5. really love this game insane work. the thing that surprised me the most was how many random side characters i ran into that actually have fully fledged story lines and scenes. was not expecting that at all. progressing doesn't feel repetitive either, especially when random events pop up. anna has a TON of content which gives me a bias for this game but if you're likeminded then you'll probably also really like this game. only thing i wish was better was explaining what beginning a story route means. i thought that starting a route with a side character would mean it would influence which ending you would get which isn't the case. leaving this review after about 15 hours logged. this is the first time i've ever felt like leaving a review for a game. please keep going

Truly awesome. Fine tuned balance between grind and progress. Dev got a aurea mediocritas between repeatable events and moving forward. Pixel art is breath of fresh air compared to 3D and AI generated pictures dominating the market.

I have no idea how I didn't stumble across this sooner. Maybe it's because it had "AI" as a tag and I usually skip those. Not because I'm against AI, I actually use it every day and think it's going to lead to some amazing innovations, including in gaming. But every AI game I've tried so far, even the popular ones, felt like complete slop. Nothing special. I don’t get the hype.

But this... this game is exactly what I’ve been waiting for when it comes to AI in games. It's basically perfect. The only reason I’m not giving it a full 5 is because it still needs a bit of work. It reminds me a lot of NTRHolic, but just needs some polish. A minimap to show where characters are at home, especially Anna, would be super helpful. Right now I just check every room before bed to make sure I’m not missing anything. It would also be nice to have a tracker showing progress with her love or affection and what triggers the next stage. I’ve been buying gifts and doing everything I can, just hoping it eventually unlocks. It’s not as clear or intuitive as something like Summer Memories. It can get a bit grindy and repetitive between those heart unlocks, especially once you’ve already seen most of the new content.

That said, there’s way more good than bad here. I could not stop playing once I started and was completely hooked. This is the best use of AI I’ve seen in a game so far. Honestly, it’s hard to even tell it’s AI until some of the sex scenes, where it becomes more noticeable. I’d be shocked if the pixel art is AI-generated, it looks amazing. The scenes are hot, the characters are super attractive, the writing is good, and the story with the mom is especially spicy. There are a ton of choices. I don’t know if they’re just the illusion of choice yet, but it feels like my decisions matter and shape the route I take. The weekly structure of the game makes events feel spaced out in a natural way, giving them more impact. The buildup is really well done. The tower defense style mini game at work is actually pretty fun. The core system is solid, it just needs some extra features to make everything smoother.

Animations would be nice in the future, but even as-is, the art is fantastic. Easily a solid 4/5 with the potential to hit 5. It’s right up there with NTRHolic for me. And for a game using AI? It’s genuinely impressive. This doesn't feel like AI slop at all. Not even a little. That alone earns it extra points. It’s a great example of how AI can actually be used well in these kinds of games.

This is the best AI generated game you'll ever play and an actual 10/10 smut game.

If you're into a long and well made experience, I suggest you give this one a try -- especially if thicc milfs are your type.

Even the NTR content is done in a decent way and not just outwardly degenerate and degrading towards the player or the characters, and it's entirely skippable.

I have not yet finished the whole game but I had to stop to type this review, this game is amazing, the characters art look very nice, the wide options of outfits, poses random encounters, everything is amazing, I just wish we could have a little more animation, not much, just like bounce for the tits in scenes or sprites aside from that, this is one of the best games and it proves that AI used to make great stuff and not only garbage

Very good game mostly the main routes are complete. I would love more netori and less sharing(We only get one scene (ass)fucking Anna with Josef at the other side of the door). Not sharing actually locks out one of the vacations destination which was pretty bad. Otherwise the futa and trap characters are optional, why are they in a 99% het game? Tokenism? It was a bit odd rather than offensive. It is also odd that Charlotte is anal only because reasons, that one is rather annoying.
The minigames are serviceable and not extremely hard though after beating them once a skip button would be appreciated. The only fun one was the moto orgasm racing game.
Warning thought, this is NOT for flat chests enthusiasts or loli lovers.

The actual onlyfans parody part do need a bit expanding as doing a single photo in attire per session is meh, the porn section gets boring fast as they have single static dialogues and i don't see the point of the streaming part at all.
I wanted to give it 4.5 but i cant so it gets a 5 mostly because i love big boobs and netori.

Probably the most perfect usecase for AI in any game I've seen so far. It has a few discrepancies with clothes and sometimes the character can look completely different, but it's all pretty acceptable. It's also really easy to just miss content and the walkthrough pdf is complete dogshit. It's also missing very basic features like a settings screen for anything. The star swipe transition to every screen quickly gets cumbersome and annoying when you need to get through 3-7 of them to get anywhere in the game. Finally, rather buggy.

However, it's surprising how good the art is considering it's made by AI, and the game itself is built pretty well, with a lot of fun LIs (if a bug or a wrong decision didn't lock you out of them...). Minigames are mostly functional, pretty fun (if not repetitive after a while) and short.

This is pretty much a gold standard when it comes to AIart games and what I wanted to see from the whole trend in the first place. Well done, but still needs a ton of polish.
