Hey guys! Lately i've been thinking about creating my own Adult Game! The story is still in the beginning (still writting).
But i dont know what type of game i should do, since im working alone (and takes a lot of time). I thought about a game with real porn (HTML), then one with Honey Select and now im thinking Daz3d...(still need to learn renpy too, so still going to take a lot of time).
I would like to create a game that was visually pleasant, with nice renders and with things made by me.. so the best option should be Daz3d... but i dont have the money to buy all the bundles and models, because i have to pay for college.

Here's an image of Emily.. a character from my game.. The left one i did in HoneySelect and the other one in Daz3d (modifying a model)

Of course the one in the right looks better and thats what i want, but it will take a lot of time and money, because it wouldnt be possible without all the morphs and clothes!

So i wanna know about: -copyright issues and things i should avoid (because i see a lot of games doing well using daz3d.. Do they pay licenses and the assets/models/morphs ?)
- people prefer fast updated games with low resolution or longer ones but with better content?

PATREON:
Here's my patreon if you wanna follow the latest updates (still very raw)

Sorry if my english is not good :/
Thanks,
Freade

Some do, some don't. I have a lot of assets, not all of them paid, but I always make sure to use only the ones I payed, or selfmade assets in my game/s. Not everyone does it the same way though, I don't know many dev's who make their own assets, and I know dev's who don't give a f about paying for assets.

Same as before, some prefer fast, other prefer more/better content.
Personally I prefer more and better content. I can't stand rushed out content, did it once and hated myself for it...

Also there are people who hate Daz and love HS and vice versa, so in the end it's your preference.

I can't help your with the decision about what to use, but if you decide to use Daz, have a look at this thread. You don't need to buy that much stuff if you know how to use a search function ;)

I would say do whatever gives you the most energy and passion because that probably will end up the best overall game! I'm a complete tech novice - seriously an inept novice - but I've made some decent money from writing but truly I am in the same boat as you with figuring out how to use graphics and programming! But I sat down and figured out so far how to do a basic splash screen intro movie, a one time disclaimer when you start the game that doesn't appear anymore if you play it again, adding music, and a little bit customized start menu with picture slides instead of one basic picture. Not much so far, but it was so fun to try! One tip I would give which I am doing right now which seems to help me a LOT since I know almost nothing (again: inept hee hee) is pick a few of your favorite games in the same programming language you want to try and just read them very carefully and learn what they code and watch how it plays out in the game itself. Just follow your passion and have fun hopefully and I hope you do great!

Most devs starting out don't buy the assets. You might be interested now, but how would you feel about it in a month or two? Would be a bit of a waste if you spended a couple hundred bucks for nothing.

When their game gets some attention and (financial) support, some buy the assets they have used, others don't. It's personally preference, if you want to support the asset creator or not. Legally it really doesn't matter, as the chance of an asset creator finding your game, and then finding out if you actually bought them (which I don't even know if it's possible), is almost none. I Haven't heard about any game here getting pulled or shut down because of pirated assets.

As for update schedule, the most important parts are consistency and giving development updates in between game updates (especially for a beginner). You are more likely to get support if you show your still working on it, then going completely dark right after the initial release. Personally I would aim for a game update every 2 months. It's enough time to get some decent progress, but not long enough that people have forgotten about it.

My answer to this is always the same :

On this forum, you can have a lot of Daz3D assets for free. Use them, and each time you've earn enough on Patreon, buy one.
It's not how it should works, but the important part is that in the end, the guy who, like you, used his passion to make some money by selling his creation have the money he deserve.
