Alright fine, knocked this out...

Stepping Up - Unofficial Fan Taboo Improvement Mod v1.0
(For Stepping Up v0.02)

- Fixes the hardcoded/missed relationship variables and names.
- Forced capitalization of variables when used as proper nouns.
- Replaces lines that go against the characters being related or that seemed out of place for the characters being related.
- Replaces landlord references.
- Adds a few additional familial references.
- Acknowledges that the MC and Selina are twins since they are the same age.
- Replaces the "textspeak" from characters who would not be saying stuff like "OMG" like Mia/Jessica.
- Fixes a bunch of English stuff, mainly misspelled words and the dev's apparent allergy to typing apostrophes...

Unlike the previously posted patches this is a standalone line replacement patch instead of a script replacement, so it doesn't replace any files and won't break compatibility with future releases. It just won't change any new lines until updated which for pure iPatch purposes may not be necessary if the dev doesn't screw up any variables or write something that firmly contradicts characters being related.

Idk what it is with hating sandbox. Some hate it more than harembros do NTR. Don't ever complain about a MC "having no agency" then. (Yes I've seen a couple I get along with and had good interactions with on here in different game threads bitch about both things) Pick a lane people. :KEK:

Game looks good. All the best, dev. :)
Yeah, i love when the story gets disrupted at random intervals so that I can click aimlessly at a screen 50 - 100 times just so that the story continues. Bonus points for stupid mini-games.

I can't wait until streaming services start having mandatory ads + surveys in movies. So you are forced to watch an ad, and then you have to answer a survey about the ad. Should you fail, you need to rewatch the ad and retake the survey. Only if you pass the survey are you allowed to continue the movie.

That's how i feel about sandbox games

SO I've played a bit and I am wondering is there more than just going to sleep and answering one question from the teacher? I can see how this could work in a sandbox, but there is nothing else going on atm. There is no interaction with other characters it's just school > mc says he's tired and goes to sleep > school again.

NTR and sandbox are both bad :KEK:

One you have to grind, the other you have to watch your women get ground on :KEK:
Okay that was a good one, you got me there. :LUL: :LUL: :LUL:

You do know it's possible to have agency and not be forced into playing a sandbox game right? The same could also be said about not having agency in a sandbox format, the 2 concepts are actually unrelated.

As for why sandboxes are so reviled, it's because it's more work for the dev, who thinks he is providing more content for the player while he actually isn't, while taking even more development time... all for mini-games and meaningless stat-grinding to make up for not having a strong enough story or better pacing. Personally I take adult visual novels at their word and prefer to read the stories and choose my actions depending on what the dev has in mind. If they really want to make an interactive style game complete with grinding and mini-games/puzzles, there are better platforms like Unity or RPGM to do that in.
Oh I was never mentioning minigames. But like you say with other games, minigames aren't a key part of what makes sandbox either. Even stats aren't necessarily either (though many use them). For me stat and RPG aspects make it more fun. If I want to quick fap I'll boot up koikatsu and coom to my own custom waifus or watch hentai/read doujinshis or something. Its a matter of taste.... so aside grindy minigames (which is annoying), I'll have to say I strongly differ from some of you guys.

No customers have to pick a lane. Developers need to make a game that sells.

"Sandboxes" need to be an interesting atmosphere and world. What makes an environment unique and fun and interesting? What made Skyrim or Oblivion interesting? Was it that it was a "sandbox" or was it that it was a world that was fun to explore? It was that it was a world that was fun to explore. People don't want sandboxes for sandboxes sake, they want fun worlds to explore. When people see "sandbox" listed for these games that are still mostly still in development they see broken systems, empty worlds, and products that are not a fun way to waste time.

This game doesn't look good, by the way. It has old graphics. The story is poorly told and it's painfully unoriginal. The pop quizzes are not fun and they don't add anything to the story or to the fun. There are a zillion games with better graphics and no pop quizzes, so there's no reason to waste time on this and there's every reason to go play a better game or read a better visual novel.
