Nyx wanting to avoid paperwork is something I can empathize with. She seems pretty easygoing compared to the others so far, but by no means an easy person. I like her personality, it's like a chill manager who doesn't like dealing with annoying regulations from higher up and unnecessary work on their plate.
Edit: She kinda reminds me of my friend's boss who would tell them to work less after meeting the quota so that management wouldn't raise their expectations and raise the quota. Feel like that'd be something she would do.

I started a new game with V0.12b and did not run into any bugs preventing reaching the end of the current content.
I like the flavor added to the scene with Nyx.

What I tend to notice about Ren'Py games is that you generally need new sound effects to override ones from a previous scene. Another game I am quite fond of is Monster Girl Dreams and often when playing in that game, music or sounds can carry over into scenes where it shouldn't if there is no alternative sounds to play.
I somewhat solved this issue myself by simply turning off sound effects as surprisingly a lot of other sound effects don't seem to fall under sound effects? Hopefully you are right and the newest release of the engine will fix the issue but yeah Ren'Py sound has always been kinda odd.

Nyx scene was improved a lot with the newest update, in the first release it felt a bit bare bones, but as you said the dev added a lot of flavor with the newest update its like a different scene entirely.

...you know what else would be great, in my opinion? The possibility to switch camera-POV during the hot scenes.

If I remember correctly it fixes a bug that prevents progression (but it wasn't relevant for anyone who continued from the last save of the content before the release of 0.12a).
The scene with Nyx got fleshed out, giving background to her character and mentioning past events.
