They are different paths.

My two cents of the story so far.

Given how the Angels are acting sus and the WG being a pretty chill dude (despite being sus with his control issues and boredom), something is up and from the looks of it, it seems like the Angels are in this case up to something worse either due to negligence or obsession(hint hint), reason why I am pegging the side of hell (excluding Adjuca's invading army) as a little more helpful right now is due to the WG pointing out the problems with using both side's OP artefacts and the witch is being forthcoming on how far she is willing to help.

The Angels on the other hand are helpful but their zealotry is doing them more harm than good as Kain Killed Ajax to keep him from leaving and if Aeolos finds out, there will pandemonium.

I don't know where you are going with the story Boss Zion but I get the impression that thinking that either heaven or hell is the right side is a dumb mistake and there is only preferences as both are as bad as the other, something I believe that Warlock Saga further shows. So even if Aeolos goes err more towards demons, he would still be 60/40 in his favor with heaven where as Kaalim favors demons due to being a Warlock.

Not sure if it's a bug, but I'm trying to talk to Iole in my tent when she has an exclamation mark above her head, but nothing happens after a short dialogue. I thought it was supposed to trigger her scene.

I loved the imp; a funny, nonlethal encountrr with a good sex scene.

I hope she becomes a recurring character at least, if the player doesn't choose to send her back to hell.

My guess is that the angels are either working with the succubus (they don't attack them at all, the most they did was helping Iole a bit but that's it) or don't see them as much of a threat and follow their own twisted agenda to rule over humanity or maybe kill them all later.

Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if we will encounter the angels again in every era (every 20 chapters) to either reveal more of their plans or even fight them at some point.

Who's WG?
I do agree that Asariel seems more invested in humanity, but it doesn't seem as it's a completely 'good' investment. Some her dialogues are weird, and her opinion on the event before the MC and his brothers' ritual gave me a bad omen.

It seems her love for Kain is genuine, though, and that she's not actually manipulating him.
