VN - Ren'Py - Summer Heat [v0.6.1] [Naughty Fox Games]

Really nice game, incredible graphics, and very few scenes but well done, it´s the kind of game you wish it had more content and updates more constant, but then you remember you don´t support economically this kind of stuff XDDDDDDDD

The game has amazing graphics and I like the photographer concept, the girls are interesting but it is still quite early in development so there isnt much to see. The scenes that are in place already are very good although the cum render sucks. Its a game that I expect turning into a 5/5 in a few years. Will keep going back to see the updates.

Renders are second to none but dev speed is basically atrocious for the amount of content per update. Even if it had badik's update size its still such a low bar to hold a VN to due to the normalization of annual updates popularized by big games.

As it stand this game is more barren than the sahara despite being 4 years in the making. I've told the devs before after their 0.6 blunder that they need to win the community's trust back with faster updates and more transparency and they did basically everything but that lmao.

Worst of all is how policed the thread is by like 4 people who circle jerk each other yet none of them are patreon pledgers even though they would defend every bad decision made by Northpx. Another 5 mins that took over a full year to make.

A beautiful cover with barely anything inside, no real content, just filler. Does not deserve the high rating. And probably in development hell since the update is so slow. So yeah, play if you have time to burn

As others have said, the visual fidelity is 2nd to none. The render quality is almost unreal. I don't find all of the LIs attractive, but my favorites are Bree and Sophie, and this game makes them look hot AF.

The story is... interesting? It seems to be teasing towards some kind of mystery regarding the town, but nothing of real substance has happened so far.

The lewd scenes are fine. The spiciest scenes are with side characters that I don't care about. Maybe others like them more, but currently I'm waiting for my favorite LIs to get attention.

Finally the elephant in the room is the dev time, with the 0.7 update being 16 months and waiting. Of course other games have long dev times too. The current Eternum update will have taken a year, and both the 2nd and eventual 3rd Strangers on Paper updates will also take over a year. However, those games have earned our patience. Summer Heat truthfully has not. Plus the progress updates are very untransparent, not giving us true insight into where the story is going/what scenes in which order are being worked on.

Since the game is not abandoned, I don't wish to factor the wait into the score. My score today is 4/5 because this is one of the best looking AVNs. I'm holding out hope for more content

The positives are evident and, in my opinion, undeniable. Visually and technically, this visual novel currently has no equal on this website.

Unfortunately, that is where the praise ends. Everything else falls into mediocrity.

Narratively, despite the project being in development for years, there has been virtually no progress in the development of basically any character, including the protagonist. The intimate scenes are few and far between, and with a couple of exceptions, they are with tertiary characters that no one cares about—essentially, filler content.

In all this time, not a single story arc has been completed. The internal timeline of the novel has barely advanced a few days, maybe a week. The cast is bloated with too many characters.

Worst of all is the developers' update schedule. It takes them over a year to release new chapters; the current one has been in development for 16 months and counting.

In summary, this visual novel is, regrettably, little more than a collection of pretty renders. It is something without substance or form. This, combined with the enormous gaps between updates and the lack of narrative continuity, leads me to give it a 2/5.

The score of 2 is granted solely for the positive points I mentioned at the beginning.

I love this game; it's by far one of the best I've played. A lot of other games involve reading boring greetings and meaningless conversations. In this game, you won't be bored for a single second. It's a work of art.

At the time of this review, the average rating is 4.5. I'm honestly shocked. Were they fake ratings or is the general reviewer just shallow?

I think where the game lacks is the writing. The story tries to create tension or mystery but coupled with the slow update schedule, the game becomes a very forgettable product. Nice wallpapers though

This game took two or three years to reveal only a hint of its main storyline. To make matters worse, it lacks the qualities that could offset its slow pacing: memorable characters, good chemistry, and engaging dialogue.

Renderings are great but the dialogue is boring and goes nowhere. Don't let the high rating fool you, this is mid at best and it's just painful to go through just to get to the next sex scene. Girls are as clichè as it gets and you know 99% of what they're about just by looking at them.

After almost a year we were given 0.6, all the hype and all the talk and empty promises it amounted to one of the worst updates ever made by an AVN dev. Literal 30 seconds of nothing.

Many toaster memes later we were told this time it would be different, this time they were going to deliver. Over a year now since 0.6 and still no release date, no render count anymore just more slop posts about how they found one dead pixel in a previous render.

This update will be no different. 3 years and it only has 2 lewd scenes to show for and 2 in game days have passed. Spectacular. Renders are the best in the business tho.

I love this game it is one of the best I've played, the character design is great, love interests are sexy and has a unique story, or at least one I haven't seen, if you haven't played it yet & have been wondering if you should then please give it a try it is so worth it

Great animation of the characters and I do like the story a lot. All ladies and the MC have convinced me to follow this novel. Just hope, the development team or the developer will make it happen. It is quite some time from last release

I want to bump this up to a 4 or even a 5 but we gotta set aside the bias for amazing renders and scenes or at this point just one scene because there isn't much at all.

The last update (0.6) lasted only 5 mins without skipping. Imagine blitzing through that and then waiting over 1year just to deliver something like 10mins. (which btw 0.7 doesn't even have a date yet and its over a year in development) Its just insane at this point no matter how good the devs are. You are basically waiting annually for subpar progression with like 5-6 Li's excluding the side chicks too.

Its just not feasible at all to expect this game to survive the next 2-3 years. The mods that have no life tried their best to purge any jokes or criticism of northpx from this thread but even they don't believe in the product, hell they don't even play it. It is a great VN in terms of potential but reality says otherwise.

Great game with some very sexy female characters. Can't wait to see how far they go with the MC. Updates are getting a bit slow but hopefully still worth the wait. It's a good quality game with many future possible paths.

i’ve played more adult vns than i’d like to admit and summer heat absolutely wipes the floor with the rest. the characters actually feel human you don’t just click through dialogue waiting for the next scene you actually want to know what happens to them. the renders are crisp enough to make your gpu sweat. the story is smooth as butter with just the right amount of spice.


every update feels like christmas morning if christmas morning also involved multiple romance paths stunning visuals and moments that make you stare at your screen like an idiot. the soundtrack is chill as hell too half the time i’m just vibing on a scene because the music hits right.


only flaw? updates take a while but i’d rather wait for this level of quality than rush into some half-baked mess. naughty fox keep cooking this one’s top 1 and i’m not even debating it.

Now I want to buy a camera for this summer.
But... sometimes there are in the changelog over 2000 renders but it feels like 1200 maybe just different angle?
