VN - Ren'Py - Summer Heat [v0.6.1] [Naughty Fox Games]

SO this game is interesting.
Amazing art story and everything else. So very good and yet so pointless.
On one hand, I am happy that I played it, on the other I do not believe it will ever be finished. I do not know what the release schedule is but it landed on this website in 2022.
Two years later we still only teasing with the girls. Two sex scenes with some randos. This game is one of the best on this site, but it is a Patreon Milker.
I will give this game 5 stars for the quality. But I will never support it.

If you want to make a proper milker game, every six-month release update with one of the girls' stories completed this includes all sex scenes all the way vaginal and anal (everything). Then introduce a few more characters while finishing the main girls one by one. Once you are done with the main ones you work on side girls.
That is how you keep the respect of the community and continue to get funded.

Even better finish games quickly and make new ones. I always check a person's history before considering supporting them. But thats hard and we get what we can get.

I want to like this game, it has a lot of good qualities, but unfortunately I cannot.

This should be a slice of life game, unfortunately there is a "plot" - I say "plot" because 6 chapters and nearly 3 years later we still dont know anything about what the plot is, other than a shady character who attends a basement in a strip club. This should be focused solely on the art camp, whatever the dev is going for is far too ambitious, and even if the development speed could handle the scope would likely fall flat.

This should be great because the renders are excellent, the characters are well written and have unique voices, and there are plenty of player choices. Unfortunately there are far too many characters, which has led to a scenario where there is minimal content and progress with any of the characters. Unless the development speed increases exponentialy, there is no way any of the character paths will be completed in a satisfactory manner, if at all.

2* for now - maybe a year from now the scope gets more narrow and there is enough progress to rate higher. For now, this is basically a giant teaser of a game that should be great

Great visuals. The story is actually interesting and surprising at the same time with the random events.

Writing is top-notch, and every character is designed really well.

I wish it had some more animations.

Even though it's not finished, I hope the game doesn't end that quick and offers lots of playtime, as I'm really enjoying it.

Once you're actually immersed with the game, you actually feel the emotions.

One of my top 3 games I ever played in this kind of genre.

This game isn't perfect: LIs pacing is weird; you have Sophie - a super conservative girl, who nearly jumps at you at the first occassion and then her friend, who is clearly more liberal and all you got from her is a kiss. There are few more irrational pacings... The main story is a bit chaotic and some things are out of place...The music is okay...

So why the hell did I give it 5 stars? I can't quite explain, but the feeling this game gives you is unique. Lack of music and the complete silence mixed with singular sound effects in some places together with great renders, well-developed characters, emotions shown in every gaze and smile, dialogues which go from goofy to deep - all this builds an atmosphere I haven't seen before in any of the AVNs.

And just like that this game jumped into top 4 for me. I really recommend this game

'Summer Heat' is one of the VERY FEW games where I actually read every line of dialogue and don't just skip to the sex scenes. Everything about this VN is beautiful: the characters, their personalities, the art design, and the environments. I find the story and dialogue to be very intriguing. Very much looking forward to future updates.

In reality a 3.5/5, but no half stars so its closer to a 3. I really, really, really want to love this game. The girls have unique personality's, their models are distinct and attractive, and interacting with them makes me want to do separate playthroughs for all of them, not just one or two like other games. The setting is also somewhat unique to other school/college based avns, being an art focused seminar in a shared house. I also enjoy the photography aspect. Now onto the negatives. The main point is that I am beginning to get frustrated by the pacing of this game, We have made real progress with exactly 1 of the love interests, the rest have been barely more than flirting, and one bad offender being Bree's route, which almost has repeat scenes with how the teasing, and almost doing something but stopping at the last second. Their also is the issue of the main plot. There is not a real driver, or stakes, or anything to really get invested in. The MC can get annoying at times, and seems to lack much agency making it hard to project yourself onto him. Now, I know that this an adult visual novel, and stories can take a back seat to the sex scenes, but this game lacks many sex scenes to compensate for the weaker plot. At the moment, it feels like the demo of a dating simulator without any real content for the girls, but this game has been in development for more than two years now. To the devs, I am being critical because I feel like this game has a huge amount of potential, and I am going to keep an eye on it and keep checking out the latest releases, but I sincerely hope that a change is made to make the releases more satisfying. I will raise my rating should that happen, but otherwise, I feel this a 7/10.

A great game, I especially like the main girls (Bree, Sophie, Eve, Mia), but there are side girls which are quite good too. Renders are amazing, with a few great animations too. The story is interesting, while it's still in the setup part as of 0.6.1 it looks promising. I wish there were more music though, sometimes it feels too quiet. Really looking forward to see the pregnancy tag implemented, I wanna knock them all up but specially Bree. Great work!

A very classic format of a visual novel. It doesn't venture into exploring mini games, it leans heavy on purely its story with accompanying visuals. That being said, its story is intriguing. And it's visuals are absolutely amazing, it may be a matter of taste, but i would be hard pressed to find a VN with better visuals, in almost all aspects, animation, modelling, texture, lighting. It all looks great and the environment actually feels lived in (apparent form some areas but that doesn't detract so much) The dialogue is great with some humor and cheesiness that while not top tier, is enjoyable non-the-less. Cant wait to play more of it. One criticism is that the "paths" based on play choices dont seem that separate, so re-play-ability seems a bit limited

I don't usually like visual novels, but the reviews intruiged me so I tried this one out. It turns out I do like visual novels, when they're this good. It feels like real life, and that's not just because of the stunning visuals . Like, yes they are incredible not just because of the quality but because of the artistic choices too, like having peoples bodies have small blemishes, subtle hair and other details that make them feel real. But it's also because of the quality of the writing.

Most of the time VNs rely on you being so horny you suspend your desbelief totally, even when the women act like very basic sex dolls. But the women in this game act like real women, to the point when they revealed details about themselves I thought "that makes so much sense". Usually with VNs you have to act like a total asshole and be okay with it, and the other men are just there to be competition. The game doesn'tstop you acting like an asshole, but just don't expect it to work.Mr Miller is one of the most interesting characters, and yes your friend is kind of an idiot but he mostly does it in an endearing way. He's just young and the game uses him to show you why men at that age struggle to find women. Hell, usually in these games you'd be acting like him and somehow it works.

There are a few minor things that bugged me, like so many of the women having impossibly large boobs and asses. I get that it's supposed to be a fantasy but I've just never been into that. For me, the realer the better. But I can suspend my desbelief when everything else is so perfect. At the end of the day if you really start poking holes you'll start wondering why all these incredibly good looking women are all living in this town of 300 people, and why they are all intrested in you. Side note - I thought making the main character faceless was an excellent idea, and it helps with this.

What really sells this game to me is the sex scenes aren't really just sex scenes, they are interesting scenarios. It's not just a checklist of different positions and types of sex. Like . Again, the quality of the writing is what sells these scenes so they never feel out of place. If you read those spoilers before playing the game, trust me, they will make sense.

Since I don't typically like VNs my favourite part was the free play sections, so please keep those coming. I'm guessing these take a lot longer to develop, but it helps with the pacing and stops the game feeling like it's just one sex scene after another. This game actually makes you wait for those, so when you get them it feels better. I also like all the subtle ways the game lets you feel like you get to be yourself instead of just acting out the fantasy of being someone else.

Overall I just can't believe I finally found this unicorn game that actually ticks all the boxes VNs never usually do. Usually the fantasy in VNs is "imagine if all the women had no personalities and they were all magically attracted to you for some reason". Or "The only reason women don't like me is because women only like assholes, so what if I was an asshole?". The fantasy in Summer Heat is more like: You meet so many women as you go through life and something might have happened, but things get in the way or you make mistakes so it never goes any further. Sometimes you meet a lot of women at once but you have to choose one, so you're left wondering "what if I chose differently?". Well, this game lets you experience a world where all those"what ifs" become reality. So far it isn't like a harem game but it also accepts that adults can have sex and it doesn't have to be a huge deal. One of the clever things it does is have the other characters not believe the MC, so even if you tell the truth they just laugh it off. I don't get why more games don't do this. I'm also not totally sure how certain decisions will impact the game later, or if I will eventually have to make a "choice" but I'm kind of hoping this doesn't happen. There is one situation where the only way to get a scene is to choose one girl over another but it doesn't seem to affect things so far. Possesiveness is a huge red flag for me so women I've just met getting angry because I am paying attention to other women too would be kind of a problem. It's also why
I think it's clear that the devs actually like women and see them as people, that is SO rare in these kind of games. But it really makes the game so much more compelling. As well, the way this game handles consent is great, the MC doesn't go against characters whishes or try to force them into anything. There was one bit Overall though This is actually a game I would recommend to women, and that's about the highest compliment I can give.

I hope this game is a huge success so more teams like Naughty Fox Games are able to make them like this. I really can't believe this is their first game.

I will probably reiterate much of what has already been written about this VN, but wanted to submit my rating, nonetheless. Hyperbole aside, Summer Heat is probably in the top 2% of VNs currently on this site.

Apart from the subjectivity of the genres explored (which some may like or dislike), objectively it is of the highest quality in terms of models, renders and animation. Seriously, the artistic and graphical quality is top notch. You will be at pains to find a better VN artistically speaking.

The characters display an individuality and personality sorely lacking in most VNs. Each LI has a distinct personality, many endearing. Detailed facial expressions only add to their quirks and emotions. There is a backstory to each. The body models are also varied and mostly proportional which is refreshing. Most are quite cute. The MC is also a fleshed-out character. Given the genre, he is, of course, an object of desire for most women. Yet, it is not as perfunctory as is customary in most of these stories. While there are some quick encounters, there is a rationale behind them. In fact, in one encounter he is treated more as an object (not in a simp way)- flipping the roles typical for the genre.

The story itself is evolving. There is a mystery here yet to unfold. Not only for some of the characters, but what is going on in the town? What the hell is up with Miller? It keeps you engaged - along with the significant eye candy the Devs generously push out every other frame.

Occasionally, the Devs dwell overmuch on their art begging the question, "was that three frame scene necessary?" It's almost as if they become enamored of their own talent. They should be because they can back it up, but a bit more judicious use of it may be warranted in future releases. A minor quibble.

In short, this is a feast for the eyes and an engaging story. Yes, it is an adult VN, so naughty shenanigans will ensue - and I am so looking forward to more of that - but as VNs go, this is of the highest standards. Check it out.

Everthing is perfect. The ambience, the sound, the amazing models and overall graphic quality, also the little attention to details that make it a top immersive experience.
The dialogue's writing is a treat by being realistic and funny but not lame and overwhelming.

Its too good! The art, the visuals, the girls. How the heck did the dev manage to make such cute girls? I swear in other games, there is mostly only one girl that'll blow you away. But in this game, every girl have this charm, this different look as if they are real.

It's frickin awesome. Hats off to the dev! Definitely 200% supporting the dev.

Only con is slow update time. Other than that, so goodddd.

I can't even begin to describe how much an absolute delight this entire experience was. Everything about Summer Heat Delivers and then some.

A very few times minor characters suffer the Big Dick syndrome (there's an excuse to it that its a small town with under 500 pop)
Although the Game's pacing is Well Done, the actual day progression is bizarre. Everything happening in the span of two days itself feels a bit bizarre.
Can in the future Lock MC into route (doesn't look like this is a harem game even though can flirt with pretty much everyone)

Overall : Potential to be One of the Best among its peers, and reminds me strongly of a game I won't mention but is regarded as one of the very best (You'll know when you play it)

Well, this game took an unfortunate turn. We're on 6.1 now, so I guess that means that the first half or so of the game was a promising exploration of MC's relations with all the potential LI's involved in this "Art Camp" weirdness. Nice renders, very pretty LI's, mostly. But this odd crime element keeps popping up, involving a strip club that the MC, doofus kid that he is, just happens to be roped into going to because he has to obey the mysterious Male who my or not be related somehow to the big-breasted matron of the "Camp". A cop, phantom $$ -- and then he's back at camp, drunk, making a pass at the matron -- who then, apparently, expels him -- but not until 3 more days have passed.
And maybe he ends up not being expelled? I don't know, because anything that happened after that convo was just blather that I eventually gave up on.
So too bad. Coulda been a really good game. Oh well.

The best game I've played on this site in a long while. The story is interesting, the characters are fantastic, and the naughty fun time stuff is great. Don't know how I've missed this one until now, but glad i noticed it.

12/10 - the story is quite something. Unexpected plot twists and quite fun in general. I highly recommend it to anyone, who likes to live the "I'm 19 again dream" lol... Can't wait for the next part.

The visuals are astounding. Every render is fantastic looking. Super hot and good body proportions. Bree, Mia, and Kate stand out the most for me, but honestly everyone else is a 9/10.

Dialogue is really really good. Lots of amazing flirty moments. As well as really well written emotional moments. Every character feels unique in their own way.

Both of the things listed above make this game a 5/5 for me. But I do have some issues with parts of the game. The MC is good at moments and bland during others. I kinda feel like we needed to see a little bit more of his face as other than his really good flirting and nice dick, we dont understand why most these girls like him so much.

I think the story is another issue. It sorta is going somewhere but then it goes another completely different direction. The writers just need to chose a lane. Ether make it a crime thing, or make it a camp drama thing. Or do both, you cant just ditch it for one section and then randomly bring it up in another section. Currently the game is at this state in the storyline, where its meandering and while i like spending time with hot girls, i do need some more interesting stuff to happen.

I wish i could give this game a 4.5/5 because that's where i think this game is at right now. But i think its closer to a 5 then a 4.

-3D MODELS OF THE CHARACTERS: Great. As good or better than those of any other erotic game.

-ANIMATIONS: few, short and add nothing to the game. In fact, the developers waste time and resources on making unnecessary animations.

-PLAYABILITY: Decisions only change the dialogues, or if MC hits on a girl, or not. There are very simple 'free roams', in which you only choose the order in which you talk to other characters, and maybe, you look for some hidden object.

-CHARACTERS: There are too many characters, considering that this is a modest game developed by amateurs with small and infrequent updates. As love/sexual interests there are a couple of MILFs, several girls of the MC's age (19) and several more secondary girls. In general, the main love interests have distinct and reasonably well written personalities. They are generally attractive, and not just because of their looks, although one of the girls appears to have a mental age of 12.

-MC: The classic young adult with a magic dick that all the girls fall in love with or are instantly sexually attracted to, for no apparent reason. His face is not shown in the game.

-HISTORY, DIALOGUES AND SCENES: For some reason, the writer has decided to compress all the scenes into the first day and a half of the game, which means that in this game the days have 60 hours, or something like that. It's absurd considering that the game is supposed to span several weeks. All the girls become (very) interested in the MC in a matter of hours and without barely knowing him, and he has sex with several of them without even trying very hard to get it. The dialogues are very average. They're not terrible, but not particularly good either. Overall, the scenes make little sense, and you don't know where the story is going because it's barely been pitched yet, despite the fact that this game has been in development for two years.

-MUSIC: Adequate. Not brilliant.

-EROTIC SCENES: Several, fairly standard. Exciting, though very vanilla.

-ROMANCE: Several options with attractive girls, though too rushed and forced. Some of the scenes are not bad.

-UPDATES: One a year, and disappointingly short.

-WOKE POLITICAL AGENDA : None, that I can perceive so far.

-CONCLUSION: Wasted potential. It could be a great game, and it stays at 'average'.
