current art gets a lot of shit (deservedly, very copy/paste), but a lot of the characters in the original art style were flat out ugly, especially Jenny.
The jokes always been that he went from "same face saga" to "same boobs saga". He never should have started the game without layered art, no 2d game maker should. I prefer the older Debbie in her lingerie than the new one but what I'm really wary of is the Okita change, his current east Asian characters have been lacking in looks for me.

To be fair, that only happened because SS wasn't supposed to even be a game when it started. That's why we've got this mess (4:3 ratio, bad code, etc.) they're finally cleaning up in the tech update.

... but what I'm really wary of is the Okita change, his current east Asian characters have been lacking in looks for me.

Original Okita was better.
Keep in mind when he said once the rig system is done updates will be released much faster because the art is the bottleneck, but now the updates are slower & no way he needs that much time remember the roxxy update it was the best one and it had more content & took less time than what he takes now.

While I'd agree in principle, I'm almost 100% sure that we won't go back to the speed of Roxxy's update. For the simple reason that the new updates include more quality content compared to her's, like pregnancies, the "wallpaper scenes" and other quality assets and quite a few more cutscenes in general. These take an overproportional amount of time to draw compared to the usual quests, etc.
Next to that DC has now three kids instead of one back then, so I'd also say that he won't return to the extreme hours he did.
In short, I'm pretty sure that Ronda, Annie, Judith, etc. will almost certainly take ~ 5 months each as well, just as Eve did.

I don't really know, but I guess it's fair to assume that he's drawing pretty much normal fulltime (streams included) + the amount of time he needs to care for the project in general and his community, like answering stuff on discord, patreon, etc.

Back in the days he literally seemed to be working all day and that's not really sustainbale for years - especially not for somebody who actually quit his job because he didn't want to be in that work environment again. Then again, I don't think the difference is as big one may think. If you'd remove assets I mentioned, the time per update would decrease considerably - at a cost, of course.

People who want to work for DC and who feel that they've got the necessary artistic skills can always apply. But let's be fair, there are few who really manage to draw new content at a quality that's 100% consistent with the game and who would be willing to actually commit a significant and reliable amount of their time.

Sure, combining existing assets is a possibilty I'd wish DC and his team would use a little more at times (so we'd get the branches for let's say Jenny), but that's not really something they'd need help with.

It took DC a quarter of 2021 only to drew backgrounds (because of the tech update) such task another artist could have done for him with ease.
The internet is filled with artists that draw porn.
It's not his goal that Summertime Saga is completed faster why should it? it's a money printing machine.
If he really wanted to, he would have found someone long ago, at least artist who draws backgrounds, but that would cost him and the game would be finished sooner results in him pop up with new ideas to develop another game, and no one knows whether that would be successful like SS or not.

I know that you are not sure but let's assume your expectation is correct... where is the art he is drawing 8 hours a day for 4 months (this is how long a update takes him at the current state)
No way he draws that long daily not even half of this.
Btw some of the art he is streaming we never saw ingame, like art he had draw long time ago and its still not ingame.

Not only backgrounds but cut scenes, sex scenes, etc.

And all of them are free to apply. But you know full well that it's not as easy as you want to make it sound. Those who are really into drawing porn professionally usually want to work on their own projects and couldn't give a damn about working for somebody else for a longer time, those who only treat it as a hobby have an output that's not sufficient and most of them are just bad. In reality most games simply fail (MilftoonDrama says hello) or get very inconsistent once they've got problems with their artist.

I'm sorry to say that, but that's pretty naive at best. Growth is the best way to make money and SS is almost stagnating for 2 years by now (especially compared to devs like DPC or NLT) precisely because DC is so slow. If DC would have gone big, hired more people, set up a team of artists, advertised the game more, put in on steam, etc. he'd very likely make 2 or 3 times the amount of money by now. Just look at how many people stopped giving him money because they think he's slow.

Last but not least, you really think DC would be less successful with his next game, given how "bad" the 2D NSFW game market is on average? It's a market that's pretty much empty apart from a few devs who are just as slow as him.

Now you are simply just trolling, it's stupid to even claim that. None of the sex scenes, none of the important plots twists, none of the cut scenes (apart from a few) etc. are ever shown on stream. He usually streams backgrounds, spirtes and poses - with a few exceptions here and there.

That's because streaming is a part of what people pay for. They expect him to stream and they expect him to draw some lewd stuff/boobs from time to time. That's why he draws stuff that's supposed to be added later... which it then usually will (apart from some very early art that was made before the reworks started).

But again, it's not the place to talk about this here.

Edit: As a very late edit, I don't want to sound like the game is actually worth 70.000$ a months - it's not. I'm just saying that it's clearly not DC's strategy to make as much money as possible while working as little as possible. There'd be better ways to do that in his position.
